i dont know about all the other servers but it often comes down to the point where i cant find a doc/medic to heal my wounds to save my life. Sometimes it is super hard to find a doc/medic during off-peak hours. Having a generic med droid that heals a base amount of wounds for xxxx credits would be so helpfuly to thoses of us who play odd hours then the rest of the players.

Seriously... people who want to be medics and doctors should forget the grind and actually try to heal someone. I always do when I'm around, but very few people actually go into the med center because they don't expect to actually find someone in there. A medical droind might be good, but it would also encourage people to continue the tumble-grind. (BTW, aren't recurrsive macroes supposed to be done away with sometime soon?)

Medical Centers do provide "free and easy" healing. While you are in them (at least on the ground floor) they will heal 10 points from your damaged stats every 5(?) minutes. May take a while to get fixed this way, but when no real Docs are available, the "automated" (albeit slow)Med Center healingis better than nothing.
I'm actually glad the Devs have it this way myself - it keeps Docs in business, but gives some help during those times you can't find one. (And no I'm not a Doctor)
Hope this helps.

I understand the difficulty in finding people to heal evenin prime hours it can be hard.
But SOE won't put in a droid that replaces a service that players provide. They set it up so players are dependent on one another.
For what it helps, maybe you can plan your game play around it so that you end your day with your character sitting in the med center to get some of the automatic healing and do it while you are AFK yourself.

well player camps do this auto healing also, its just a hindrance to leave my toon in one of these places without him loggin out, especialy in a camp where critters can still attack.

NO NO NO
NPCS should NEVER replace the function of a player profession no matter what.
If anything doctors need to quit feeding the lazy and move their ops out of the starports and into the med centers (I would encourage this by upping the duration of the buffs if they are obtained in a med center.

Do you have novice medic?
/targetself;
/tendwound;

Secondly, You might want to try going to a Player Controled City just some thoughts.

Just like at a garage where we can fix our vehicals at a cost, why not have this ablity for the medical NPC's in the game. Set the cost so that regular Medics and Doctors won't be hit by a backlash of player getting heals from NPC, but not so costly so as to prevent players from having to run around looking for a Medic. (i.e. a NPC charge could be 5 credits per wound point...just as an example)
Or, if you have chosen a faction, a factional medic could heal you at a cost of factional point instead of credits (like a HMO for factional players)

I empathise with you when ever I was on my bh I would go to a medcenter and help anyone out I saw there. The problems are as follows.
Medics/combat medics/doctors. Rarely if ever get tipped. They should always get tipped. If I am on my smuggler and some nice soul heals my wounds and saves me 20 minutes of sit. I tip him or her. Since players have stopped tipping. Most medics have just stopped. Tendwound works, but it costs BF and that takes time from a medic. So even then you should tip. Woundpacks do not grow on trees. People need to understand that, and If a player uses a plus seventy wound pack on you. You should tip its costing him or her money.
Buffs are allowing players to spam. Do ample damage. Take alot of abuse. So they do not need wounds tended as much. One less player to heal.
Armor allows players to take huge hits for next to no wounds. I remember wearing an 80 percent composit and getting jumped by eight kliknik dark defenders, and being shocked at only haveing 12 points of wound damage.
Buffs decrease the need for stims. Less need for stims equals less need to take up any medic at all. So fewer players have it.
Money there simply is more money in buffing then healing a player.
First aid is a joke. Stopping bleeding is little reward now. Seeing as serious dots are fire disease poison. None of which medics can counter in anyway.
While I empathise with your problem. I think the curb is already addressing it. In the form of nerfed buffs/foods. Lower resist armor. More value to stimuse. Less money in buffing. Which leads to more wounds, and more players to treat them. Until then might I suggest the following.
Log in and log out in medcenters as a routine. Sometimes it takes five or six minutes for you to load in or out. The result easy heal. Take up novice medic to heal yourself yeah 15 points is alot, but the rewards are well worth it. Tend BF often. Even a moderate amount leaves you more prone to wounds. Hit wounds when they are small. Even when you got a few. Take the five minutes while you go grab something to drink heal them. Most importantly think of where the healing is. Sometimes its not where you expect it to be. Here are my favorites.
Mos eisley its a noob city with atleast a few noob medics.
Kadara its a bh center, and most high level bhs are medics. A lone wolf needs to be more reliant.
Mineing outpost dantooine well packed with players.
Tyrena another noob starter city.
Moenia naboo I always find medics here have no clue why though.
Most of the time you would think coronet theed for these things, and though each server is different you need to focus on communities that have a more mission related pressence then theed or coronet. These are stopovers.

i have an master doc on ahazi server. and i have removed the master doc over his head and have novice artisan instead..
i am tired of healing peeps and dont get an tip.. med supplies arent free as it are for entertainers..
so instead i did concentrate on buffing my alts and my architect.. o make med supplies on my doc to sell at vendor.
some peeps to tip regularly. but i have been asked lots of times outside med center if i could heal them. i did and they said thx...
i cant do it with just thx..
its not always the amount of tip you get but that evry one tips..

One idea that has come about in the past but nothing went with it(it may have, haven't looked on the entertainer boards), but this is what I had read and thoughwas a solution to the empty cantinas.
The entertainer has a R2/R3 entertainer droid. They have the option to record a 5 min holo disc, which they can turn around and sell, and this makes it so that they have a source of income as well, but the person who buys the disc can take it to a cantina, and if no one is there, they pop the disc in a machine and they have 5 mins to get some if not all of their mind and BF healed.
Not too sure about how a NPC in the med center would work, but as it is, if you are in a med center you wil get healed, but at a very painful rate.

I remember that post. I think the holodisk could be used in camps aswell (at least that was the post I read) Glad to see the idea is still around, just hope the Dev's thought about it.

So often I've gone into medical centres needing healing. Instead of healing, I see afk healers healing afk tumblers. A few times I've even been told that "no I can't heal you, I'm busy"....healing tumblers again.
Either allow us to heal ourselves, or give us 265 skill points.
Better yet, remove the certs for stim a/b health and wound packs. I'm not a doctor in real life, but I do know how to put on a band aid.
