I just saw a +18 def vs knockdown clothing tape being auctioned. The current bid is 18 million (buyout 30 million). Im a little surprised to be honest. I figured by now prices would be coming down for these things to a more realistic range. In fact many items still seem to be selling at high rates and lack any consistency.
If anything it has caused prices to drop on smaller tapes while demand is increasing for better ones. My usual looted tapes (marauders, aakuans, stormtroopers, canyon corsairs) are +4 to +6 range with the occasional +8 thrown in. These tapes used to sell for quite a bit. Now Im happy if half of my auction even gets a minimum bid offer. Many times lately Ive destroyed tapes that previously were worth millions. And Im reduced to selling great tapes like a +9 carbine accuracy ca for 500k that previouslt went for 3+ million.
Meanwhile anything gained via Lord Nyax still goes for millions and millions. And there are a lot of them out there. Some players are obviously camping 24/7 when they "proudly" announce their auction with 4 +18 tapes.
So what is now happening is players like me simply stop bothering with those "crappy" +6 tapes because its not worth my time to kill canyon corsairs for 3+ hrs for a possible tape I wont sell. So the poorer players will not benefit from more mob spawns like the devs envisioned for this fix. The whole point was to make the game more accessible to casual players with 300k in their bank accounts. Instead the players again found a way to make themselves richer and more powerful (thanks to those tapes).
In the end, this is really gonna hurt the game. The combat revamp may fix inbalances but will we all truly be balanced ? I'd guess no if the player Im fighting against has +18 def vs knockdown, +23 def vs dizzy, +18 two hand melee accuracy, +20 two hand melee speed tapes just in his undershirt. Then add up all the tapes in his belt and whatever else he's wearing and Im screwed.
I also asumed pearl prices would come down by now as well. I've seen a few who attempted to offer great deals. Yet their prices are forgotten by the next greedy looter who posts his 6 premium pearls 5 min later. And if you try and point out that his prices are a bit high considering the last poster had better quality for less money, you get ignored and whats worse then next moron after you offers buyout. Isaw premium pearls selling for 3.5 million in one auction. Then( followed by someone who obviously knows the price should come down) someone sells flawless pearls for 2.5 million buyout. Of course that person's rate is ignored as the new norm and people go back to paying 3-4 million for lesser quality pearls.
Why arent these people standing up and saying "no more, lower your price please" I would assume by now people wouldnt have any other choice as credits should be harder to come by thanks to solo/group nerf. Im starting to suspect those credit dupes did more damage and put billions more credits into the economy than me, soe or anyone else realizes. I cant see any other explanation for it.

It simply boils down to what people are willing to pay, really.
Truthfully, anyone can easily go out and take down Marauders, Aakuans, Canyon Corsairs and the like. Heck, you can even get missions for them. But Lord Nyax is still a static spawn, and as its being camped by people with 20 million credit legendary weapons, the items they loot are A) Harder to come by and B) Perceived to be worth more by other people.
With the economy still bouncing around like a superball in a rubber room after the Credit Dupe, and Solo Nerf, and other changes, you will begin to see a larger disparity like the one you mentioned.
But it basically comes down to this; If I have 10 million I'm willing to use to buy a +18 tape, and someone else has 20 million for the same tape, 20 million will always win because the person who has the 20 million believes that +18 tape is worth it.

If I were to hazard a guess, I'd say it's because the really hardcore players still have a ton of money to drop on these things, and as a +18 tape is pretty useful, they don't feel much compunction about spending a lot to get one. Especially when they've got the sort of template where they can make that money back in a not too terrible amount of time.
High-end tapes may eventually reach a saturation point once the extremely wealthy players start to gather most or all the tapes they want, causing prices to slip, but I expect that'd take a while. For one thing, there are dozens of different skills to enhance, and while some are more highly sought after than others (Rifle Accuracy over Pistol Accuracy, say), there will continue to be some pretty stiff bidding whenever that +20 Dodge CA shows up for auction. This is still some of the uberest gear around, and as such is going to attract a lot of people with some very deep pockets for quite a while, I expect.
I have seen pearl prices drop noticeably, though. I don't pay a lot of attention to them, but I've seen ones that used to go for 5-6M every time being spammed in Coronet for 3M as of today. ADKs factor into that, though.

I guess one other reason is: Lord Nyax spawn every 20 minutes. I haven't done any statistics about it, since I'm not camping this guy regulary, but I've looted him 4 times now. 3 times I got a crappy grenade, once I got nothing at all.
Consider how many different skill mods there are possible, and what the demand is for them, then you know, why prices are not dropping yet.
While our guild got 8 premium pearls last night, and sure a lot of other players looted premiums as well, there are quite less high quality CAs coming into the market. That's why premium pearls drop in prices, while CAs are not.

I have some stats on Nyax on my home computer that I could post later... I camped him for a while this last weekend(non AFK!) and kept track of what he dropped and when he spawned. There were two 2hr periods where he dropped nothing but grenades, and after a full day I had four attachments, two with broken mods. With a drop rate like that, it will take a while for high end attachment prices to come down.

I suggest flooding the market.
Get as many of them as you can, and sell them all for less than 1 million in several different auctions that will almost fill the first page on the trading forum.
Keep bumping them, and hope that the uber traders don't buy them up before the casual players can buy them (bidding would give the ubers a chance far greater than others.)

Does anyone else see the irony in the highlighted paragraphs? The poster is complaining about CA prices being so high that "poor" players can't afford them, then goes on to say he's destroying +6 CAs because he can't get millions for them anymore. My question to Sandsifter is: what have you been doing to help out the little guy? From the above post, it sounds like not much.

I could of used some of those +6 or +3 skill tapes. I am sure a lot of people could of used them. So all you really did was delete money out of your inventory, and now complain how you can not afford something. So I am sorry for you, because being FILL IN THE BLANK is a hard thing to overcome to be successful in this game.

Sandsifter you are also missing the point that its much easier for common folk to go get these themselves now. Although theres still the SEA market (and always will be most likely), players arent slaves to the greedy lazy afk loot kings. =) On top of that theres ALOT of money that has changed hands recently with the vet rewards. many many people that had nothing now got millions from selling their rewards off. So thats going to help artificially inflate the markets for a bit till all that cash gets back to the credit barons again.

On Naritus the price of some attatchments has come down. A lot of the crafters experimentation tapes have dropped, some by 50% (for some reason weaponsmith tapes are still just as expensive or more expensive). The various combat speed tapes and defense Vs. tapes have remained fairly high. I think this is due, in part, to a limited number of crafters in each profession as opposed to larger number of combat players in each profession.
Also, a lot of players will come across a nice skill tape, say a +15 2 handed speed tape, and they will grind out that profession to be able to use the tape. You can walk into this new fighting profession day one and be very competitive with your attatchment. On the other hand, the crafters tapes will be more subject to market saturation because just having the master crafting profession and the tapes doesn't cut it, you have to have the resources as well, which can take six months or more to get your hands on.
Just my two cents.
