IM SORRY, THIS IS IGNORANT

what most of you fail to realise that there is no real set amount of money like it is in the real world (close to a set number anyway).

everytime you kill a mob and loot credits, that is EXTRA MONEY that did not previously exist entering into the game and the economy. It has been this way since the game started, and has yet to "CRASH THE ECONOMY" after reading many many posts here ive come to realize that this is nothing more than another specific class (skill) getting upset that they will NOT be the sole holders of fine goods or services anymore.

What baffles me about all this is the amount ofArtisans who seem to be in an uproar over this, yet, In game you are never anywhere to be found. my point is that of the many, many, many artisans in game only a hand full actually have any sort of customer service. Most of you just grind away makeing what ever it is you think sells good and rarely if ever take any custom orders with the exception of close friends and maybe guild memebers, but even then act as if you dont want to. You all have become spoiled in the knowlagde that the customers will buy whatever you offer. Times are changeing because of your lack in custom work, makeing custom work more available to those who want or need it.

for example I want a custom set of Tantel Armor and this armor sliced as well as a weapon i alredy have. Ive sent 18 emails to armor smiths in the past week, with no response from anyone. I have sent 27 Emails to known slicers in the past 4 days. No response. that is a grand total of 35 Emails, 35 Crafters (im includeing smugglers in this) who obviuosly dont want my money. Perhaps they are here posting to this pointless Thread instead of actuall customer service. In the time ive been waiting for a response i have manged to collect almost all material needed for both jobs. if i was a weaponsmith/smuggler id do it myself, and from the looks of (untill PUB23 that is) i may need to raise an alt Smith/Smuggler since noone else seems to be either.

The change as it was wouldn't have crashed the economy, it would have just made the game extremely boring for crafters, essentially giving us Godmode. As for you not being able to find someone to custom craft you a suit of armor, well perhaps you aren't offering enough money. I know my wife is loathe to make armor post-cu, she still hates doing it. My guild pre-cu had 3 active Armorsmiths and they always kept there vendor stocked with a variety of armors... Post-CU 1 of those Armorsmiths has left the game and the other one respecced out of armorsmtih, my wife is sticking with it cause she loved the profession too much... but overall from what I can tell armorsmiths hate crafting armor it is an incredible chore now. BTW if you are looking for a layered suit of armor I would double the cost of the normal ones, if you want it custom double it again... this amy get their attention. So, if armor sells for 500k... I would offer 2 million for a custom layered suit.

This is what my wife told me about crafting armor now, "It is simply not worth my time to make armor anymore, it takes too long and is too much of a headache, that people can not pay me enough to make it." She still makes it, but she only does custom orders now, and she no longer advertises, so mainly she just makes armor for people that had bought armor from her Pre-cu.

OMG...

Listen to the state of this thread...

This update hasnt even gone live when this posting session was made.

"im quitting my account"

"the economy will crash!"

"oh no! were all going to die"

Listen to yourselves for 5 mins. This is no longer pre CU happy slappy one thing beats all. This game isnt about doing the same stuff day in day out until your eyes fall out and bleed. If it changes, then deal with it. Either change with it or show yourself to the door in a quiet manner.

What would you guys be saying if SOE didnt publish a single update? Ok they make mistakes and it gets on my nerves too but theres no need for these hissy fits especially before you have even seen these changes on live servers.

Read all of my posts before this an all, This is the only one where Ive actually defended a publish. I used to agree but quitting your game because of an update intended to make it easier before its hit live is stupid. I dont play this game for the updates because they are crap. I play it to play with other people and I have fun doing it. If you dont like something in the game, dont do it. Simple as.

Oh and all you guys can flame me till your fingers ache cos I couldnt give a noobs backside what you think

This will - like all changes- have impact on the economy.

Is it going to be negative? Who knows. The original poster implies it is.

I think s(he) and the people agreeing don't predict a negative impact for the games economy, but for their personal way of playing the game, being a crafter, running their business etc.

I am a retired architect and virtually ALL my competitors offered maxed our BER harvesters - as I did. My houses were also not better than theirs, so my situation was always like the doomsday scenario you are trying to predict. However, my business was successful, not because I had Uber-Harvs or the best houses on the server and I was not the cheapest either. How did I make money?

If you craft for profit - not just for your personal enjoment or for your alts - you are always more than a pure crafter, you are also a businessperson. You and your business have to be able to adapt. For my part, having better resource management than my competitors was key to my success, my vendors were always well stocked with virtually EVERY product I could make (not 100 candles and 1 small house). I could also fill orders nobody elseseemed to take("I need a city hall right now and 55 medium houses for my guild") simply because I hadstockpiled pre-made components.

By the way: The leadingcrafters in the quality crafting professions will remain the best anyway, because they have the network to get the loot items to make the maxed outitems even better - most new masters don't have this supply.

Heh, all this fuss.

Just do what the rest of the few remaining or returning veterans do.

Buy additional account(s)!

I depend upon no one.

SOE can take their forced conformity, and dependancy and shove it.

Granted I pay more per month. Thats what SOE wants. But so what?

I get a char to make what I need, overstock for myself and a few friends, and then cancel that account until I need it again.

Simple.

Geez. 2 years later and we still have whiners. =P

BER 14 Heavy and BER 11 Medium harvesters should becoming available on most servers. Near max or very high crafting stations should become more available. What is your take on the economic impact of these changes?

We don't all disregard game design to egocentrically buy more skill points, lots, etc with real life cash.

It's 2%, not 10%
