Thread: THERE IS NO INFLATION!!
Supply and demand can be a rough concept for some people to understand. The reason is that it varies with individual sellers.
For example, lets look at two Armorsmiths. One prefers hand crafting and just generally enjoys the activity, while the other prefers mass production and making credits. You would think the one who has a primary interest in credits would charge more but I think you'd be surprised.
The first wants to sell armor sure, but they also want to keep their vendor stocked and don't want to have to be making armor with every availbly online moment. So their price is going to depend on how fast their vendor stock sells out. The faster it sells, the higher they haveto price it to slow down sales.
Same with the second really, but since they are mass producing armor and want the credits, they want the vendor to sell stock as quickly as possible. So they price it move more quickly.
In the end though, it all comes down to personal preference. In the end, customers either pay the price or not depending on their preference as well. This is why some items seem to have a price cap. Consumers are just refusing to buy at a higher price. (which would expalin why my swoops don't exactly fly off my vendor ![]()

I'd like to touch base on weapons then...if I read that original post corrctly and granted it was a few months ago..but Master level weapons like T21's, PowerHamers and such...how much are people paying nowdays? The original post said 12 million for a powerhammerthat does a base max dmg of 900?
I mean I remember supposed "uber" krayt, ackley enhanced stuff going for millions...but I can craft ones that base max dmg at 960 and use tier 1 slice to get it to 1041...and they don't even sell at 20k each!!!
I am afraid to even make ranged weapons because they take 5 times as many materials and crafting time (or factory runs) and sell for even less....
By your registered date I am going to assume you arent a noob.... but the OP was made before the CU came out so he is talking about a max 900 power hammer pre-cu, and those were quite rare....
Yeppp..not a noob...realize his post was pre-cu, discussing postCU pricing in relation to the topic..basically I am saying the economy sucks now for WS who don't craft anything but uber stuff and don't already have 1 bajillion credits in the bank to buy looted components and slicing material at 20-100k per item....even then average players/people won't pay double digits for a weapon that only does 100-200 points more damage than a regular ones since mission payouts at 9-14k instead of the good ole' 30k...
Perhaps this post should be unstickied as it is out of date with current economy dynamics after CU...
Yah I may be complaining to soon then...I am starting to see lowend (12-20k per item)stuff move off my vendor and bazaar at about 2-5 per day. Granted I am only selling three types of melee weapons (2h curved, 1h RSF and Powerhammers) and some pre-cu ranged stuff that I had from previous templates that I never even used (I used to hoard stuff) that sold in the 6 digit range back then and ever at 50-70k pricing those are not moving...
So perserverence is the name of the selling game eh....good or bad economy. Although I still have to argue that since the mission payouts are maxed at 9-14k (instead of the old 30k) the economy has to be deflating...I know there are a lot of rich pre-cu folsk out there but they are fast becoming the minority as they got bored being rich and accomplished about all they can in the game...
These new post cu folks are poor compared to the old days....

Considering what they've been spending, I disagree.

inflation is acknowledged by the devs
junk dealers pay more for kashyyk junk, mediocre rewards are worth more than they ever were previously putting more creds in joe schmoes pocket which in turn leads to higher prices for items in demand
ANYTIME you get something for nothing, or get a lot for very little, it causes inflation. The original post of this thread was pre-CU. I have definately witnessed inflation in the past 4-5 months.
The mission payouts are still disproportionate to the group dynamic scams (I've heard of ppl getting 4million in an hour). AFK faction farming from 1xp NPCs, space loots being bought by junk dealers for more than they're worth, kashyyyk proton carbines and other ready-looted non-rare premium weapons etc., increased loot rates on krayt dragons and other used-to-be rare spawns, double xp weeks, no maintenence weeks, veteran rewards coming out of our ears, in-game gifts for buying out-of-game packs or expansions (bark speeders and the like), doctor buffs that require no resources at all,and I'm sure there are more....
These ALL contribute to an inflated economy. An SWG credit that is easier to obtain and means and is worth less, that is inflation, and it is definately happening.
I play the game because I like crafting and being a part of the player-driven economy. I do not play combat characters. (If I wanted to play shoot-em-up I would have played another game entirely) Recent game developements have underminded the integrity ofthe player driven economypart of the game, and have decreased quality of gameplay.

Just wanted to say, don't believe everything you are told. To get 4 million an hour at 10k missions, it would only take 400 mission.
and please if you claim inflation, show examples. The only prices that show inflation are the costs of armor. And we al know why those prices are up and it has nothing to d with inflation.
