Thread: Something that Needs to be Stopped!
Let's say someone at your office gives you a watch for christmas.
While walking around the office, not 10 minutes after getting it people are offering you $10 here and $15 there.
Are you going to sell it?
I mean, you just got it so you likely don't know it's actual value, but if people are lining up to offer you money for it then it obviously has value, right?
If you start a character in this game and sell off things in your inventory the first hour you are playing, you are an idiot. You have no common sense and you deserve to be taken advantage of.
Do I think people that buy BARC's for 50k or some such price are jerks? Honestly, yes I do. But the person that sold it should have known better.
Use some common sense here. If people lack common sense SOE cannot protect them, sorry. That's just the way life works.
Flame if you want, and I'm sure several will but take a moment and think, honestly. These people that are selling their rewards for these ultra low prices are not using their heads. Who's fault is that?

Why noobs are gettting scammed and ripoff in the game, simple cause the missions don't play much, that's why, SOE have to increase the amount of money per mission at list for something decent, post pre-cu a group of 20 was able to run 30k mokk and janta missions, that helped me a lot to buy better weapons, better armor, when SOE nerfed the 30k group mission my only hope was to group with my at-st, then after that bam !, another nerf and mission went down to 10k. In intrepid to buy a good set of faction armor is a 1mil how many mission will take me to buy a good set of faction armor, or at list something decent.
The money making is stupid, cause if you don't have a good armor or good weapons you can go hunt for good loot to sale and make some extra credits, the 30k group missions should come back, there's a different ways to make money but again, if you dont have the necessary equiptment, forget it, that's why the noobs are desperate to make some cash and they get scammed.
Pre-CU the max mission payout was around 30k. That 30k was spread out among the group. If you had (using post-cu numbers) 8 people in your group that ment the mission was worth 30^8=3.75k per player. Post CU missions pay out a max of about 10k, if you have a group of 8 people they ALL GET 10k. So missions now are worth 80k vs 30k before. The money is better now than it ever was for groups.
The numbers will shift some if a smuggler is envolved, if the city has increased missions payout, etc. But you get the basic idea.

Aaaaah, I understand...
It's not scamming to talk a brand new player out of their BARC speeder, it's a proper business transaction. These fools could have worked through the trade forums instead of opening the box, installing the game and start playing right away and failed to educate themselves on common item pricing. Instead they are stupid enough to believe the friendly smoothtalker with the nice HELPER flag who tells them the BARC is really not that good and that they really need the 50k and the 327/800 pre-decayed rifle a lot more than this speeder. You're right, screw em'.
Here is what I don't understand...
Why do the scammers, err, businesspeople get so upset when they buy the deed called BARC of my latest alt character (without badges and still in starter clothes) for around 100-200k after theyfind out that it's an X-34 named "BARC Speeder"? I don't get it... It's a proper business transaction! They ask me if I want to sell, and I tell them I got a "deed called BARC speeder". That's what they buy - that's what they seem to want. Why calling me names? I am a businessman, not a scammer. These experienced players could have easily seen the nature of the trade object by simply looking in the trade window item specs. How can you not learn how to play the game properly and accuse others that take advantage of this as scammers? Isn't that what you propose to be clean good ol' business?
/sarcasm off
PS. All proceedings from this activity go to real newbies, I don't keep a credit for myself. The moment when the scammer, err, businessperson generates the X-34 is as gratifying as bringing that ancient krayt down.
