The one account per server is a great idea.

THAT is the driving force behind making the game interactive.

And here's his Sig:

Captain Jonny-
Still paying $45 a month to bug test the product. Say what you will but SOE is pure marketing genius.

I'm guessing he has 3 accounts and does a lot of solo-interacting. "The ironing is delicious!"

First off, you sexist troll, it's "her" sig and "she" has 3 accounts.

I'm thinking your "guessing" is a lot like your love life- handicapped by yourlimited knowledge beyond that of your trousers.

Trolls like you are cheap and in plenntyful supply.

enjoy yourself.

in all fairness, most of us would go on the assumption of you as male for two reasons.

one, male gamers outnumber female gamers...by alot.

two, captain jonny-...jonny as in short for jonathan usually. not really a female name

one last thought...your sig is very much a contradiction to your post and you haven't really answered to it. if you honestly believe we should all have one account, then why do you have 3?

for the record, i'm female irl...most people think i'm a guy unless they talk to me. usually, i don't care

Yea it would be awesome to have two charactors, i think it would make the game alot better. im sick of mastering something then finding out it isnt that good then re-mastering the skill i had before it, like i was master doc, but i dont really like it anymore so i surrendered it and have to remaster cm again its annoying and time consumming. And i dont see why anyone would want to waste 18 weeks anyways on gettting jedi, i dont even think they that good i think swg should make jedis harder to get and make them better.....

The reason for this is because, unlike EQ2. SWG has a 100% player driven economy. Meaning, If I have char A) a master commando who needs weapons armor, ect..then i make character B) weaponsmith and character C) armorsmith...the economy goes to hell because no one is buying from eachother...they are crafting thier own gear. I think 1 char per server is great. If you want to test out the other professions then make chars on other servers.

If your main account is a commando, what stops you from buying a second account, and making that toon an armorsmith/weaponsmith?

Your argument is completely invalid. There is absolutely no reason why we can't have an alt on the same servers. And if you want to talk about database space, the same space your alt would take up is the same space another account would take up. This is purely greed driven, to get people to buy more accounts.

HA!, and people wanting extra chars is not purely greed driven. If you wanted to 'experiment' with other professions you can do that with one account like Pikthulhu said. People want extra chars on the SAME server to help themselves out, plain and simple.

SOE had to make the 1 char per account decison based on the player ecconomy and offer a character on each server to allow the players to experiement with each profesion and hope they did this instead of purchasing the extra accounts. As usual though, we messed that up by buying the extra accounts to do that instead of using the other servers because we figured, "I have this extra account I can use it to help my main char'.

This game is also nota race. If you have to drop skills to try out another profession and if you do not like the new one you have to grind to get the other back fine. You have time to do that.

Soe makes more money buy having you pay the 30 dollars or whatever for a new account and than having to pay the monthly subscription.

Thanks for the backup Giamai, I appreciate it.

I heartily apologize, Captain "Jonny", for assuming you were male. I tend to give women more credit for being sensible, and thus, concluded that the glaring contradictions between your post and your sig were the result of a testosterone-addled mind. Alas, I was wrong.

And since we're playing the "Thinking about another's sex-life" game, let me see if I can sum yours up:

Your sex-life is probably like your gaming style: You pay excessive amounts of money in order to self interact. All the while frustrated, because you can only "bug-test" the product.

Feel free to have the last word so you can "win". I'm done here.

One thing about us Trolls: we regenerate!

Oh and to keep this post on topic: HAVING TO GET JEDI FOR A FREE ALT SUCKS!

I think help, simme, and FFNogood all got it.

When SWG came out it was the only game where you could change your skills and professions to whatever you wanted, whenever you wanted. Just because you started as a smuggler doesn't mean you have to be one for the rest of your character's life. There are a lot of benefits to this, and some downfalls, but it is one of the main things that made SWG unique, and one of the main reasons I started playing.

...course then I wanted a fighter and a crafter cause I wanted to fight but I wanted to craft but to try and do both wasn't really realistic....at least not well, or should I say up to my level of expectation, but if I didn't have the money I would be more than happy knowing that I could if I wanted be a marksman/entertainer/scout/medic/artisan/brawler, or a TKM or some such thing, and could switch between them all at any time I felt like getting the experience.
