Thread: Would you describe yourself as a Have or an Average Player?

"Average Players" feel that anyone with a large sum of money (whether you considera large sum to be1,000,000 or 100,000,000) or overpowered weapon,is grossly bloated, and needs to be removed of some ofhis or herwealth oritemryto allow the average player to compete in the economic arena and achieve an overallbetter economic balance.
Nice post, and just how true is this paragraph. I bought 3 resource kits for a total of 10.5mil, asked the sellers to offer to my vendors (they weren't regular customers of mine) and sold weapons totalling 8.5mil to them. In this case everyone involved are 'haves', they have the weapons they wanted, I have the resource kits.

This happened when people were selling their vet rewards. I know several loot dealers and TONS of crafters who had their best days EVER that week. Why? Because these "average" people you are talking about (again, not average at all, but in any case...) got their 5-6 million imediately from said loot dealers/crafters for those kits...and what did they do? They turned around and spent it at the same shops that were buying their decay kits! Even the little loot vendor I keep around (which I intentionally price high because I'm not always sure I want to sell or not) got almost bought out - and from the same people I saw selling their decay kits at the Starport that day.

Okay, so can I start a character over and over on a server and tip 75k to someone else so that in turn I can get half of it back? Let's see 75k x 1 character every 5 minutes (I'm slow) x 1 hour of play = well more money than most toons I have had for months, even halved.
Actually that 75k is one time only. So if you create and delete and recreate over on a particular server. Only the first character will have the 75k.

I'm a HAVE. My long-term goal as a crafter is to match the credit balance that one guy was reputed to have. Some figure between 2.5-3.5 billion.
Although I haven't gotten to the billion mark (YET! LOL...), my understanding is that the cap is just under 2 billion per character - 999,999,999 million in the bank, and 999,999,999 million in cash, for a total of 1,999,999,998.
This may not be true, but I have yet to see a screenshot (much less a reliable one) that showed a bank or cash balance over a nine figures on it's own.
Hopefully I'll find out someday in the not so distant future. ![]()

Sorry when I say "one guy" I was speaking of that person IRL who controlled more than one account, not one character.
Glad you brought this subject up. Im probably what you call a "Have". I have been playing at least an hour or two daily since May of 03, and about 3 months ago I purchased a second account to be a merchant/crafter. I spent the first year of game just learning what makes it "tick" and not really having too much in the way of credits. After the first year though I started rigourosly applying what I saw around me, ie - "successful players templates, and money earning activities. To my surprise I quickly accumulated "millions" in several weeeks of focused play. And Im not talking about AFK loot camping either, but I got out and ran the missions, hunted the creatures that pay out on resources, and missioned npcs that dropped that phat loot :-)
One of the things Iv noticed over the last 6 months to a year is that we are getting more and more "newer players" that are crying foul or in general complaining about server economies. I sincerley hope that SOE takes a laz a faire approach to all this. Speaking as a person who spent hours and hours earning skills, learning the in's and out's of various pve/mission quirks and turning these into a tidy profit; its my hope that most of these people will just learn that no one's gonna come out and hand you everything on a plate in this game. You think stuff cost too much? Imagine how it felt when there was nothing to buy, literally first couple of months we only had access to the most basic items most of these same complainers have gotten for free from veteran players who like to help out new players. I made my cash the hard way, running missions when there was no vehicles, no shuttles and no t21s. If you want to know the secret of the game, its just play it and dont expect everything for free unless your willing to expend the time and effort to have a "earning" template. Its not that hard, open your ears and eyes, and ask some civil questions like I did to see what others are doing successfully.
ok, thats my 2 credits worth

I'm very satisfied with wealth I have reached, seeing that I have some nice, slightly above average gear, 8 million banked for necessities and a nice home in a city, on a planet I hate... (Why, oh why is Dantooine is supremely pink?)
I've thought plenty of times about getting an AV21 speeder or a nice DE-10 to put up on the wall in my home, but I really don't need those things to "be happy". I never spend millions on "Ub3r l00t" as the quality of most crafted items are only slightly lower which saves me a bundle each time I go shopping. In fact, the most expensiven, single thing I've bought for myself the past month must have been a crate of chef food I needed.
But in the end, the thing in the game that I enjoy most, is chatting with the lads in Guild chat and hunting challenging MoBs alongside them - And that, my friends, is free

I would say I am a have. I have over 1 billion resources (yes, that's over 1,000 stacks of 100k) that I haven't liquidated. I have 35m in the bank. I have a+21Exp, +25 assemblydoc suit. I have crates of buffpacks. I don't even use my doc stuff. I spend the vast majority of my time running a mining company.
During the next "JtL," when resources become a hotbed, I will be wealthy beyond dreams. Not only that, but I have much more I could liquidate. If I really tried, I could raise 50m by Friday, and that's without losing a lot of choice items.
I think, as people have said, being a have actually doesn't deal with what you phyically have in your bank account. It deals with whether a) your needs are easily met and b) you can rise to the challenge to get whatever you want.
I hate to rain on your parade chief, but you still have 9 to go. 1000x 100,000=100,000,000 - one hundred million. Congrats anyway though. That is defenently an accomplishment to be proud of.
