I always tip the non-AFK entertainers in the cantina. I'm also willing to sit there while they play that clarinet-thingy-thing healing my BF incredibly slow, but I know they need the xp. I tip 'em a good 10K-50K depending on how the conversation was.
Being a rifleman, I always find myself standing next to a little guy in a padded jacket and a CDEF rifle. Sadly, nobody had ever helped me like I hear about in these threads... I asked for help on some missions in Eisley, nobody would even respond to me, only fellow newbies. At the time, I almost felt mean the vets because they treated me badly.
I know what that's like, so I help all the newbies when I can.

I like testing the new players with unknown /'slash' commands
My favorite is /handshake
I walk into the NPC Cantinas, Tat, Naboo, and announce taht if you shake my hand i'll give you a reward
Not only does this help them learn taht the game is a lot deeper than what the instruction book tells you, but it also gets them some cash, like a Vet Quest, i'll shake their hand with /handshake, and then let them return the shake
I ussually tip 50k to sucessful shakers, although it takes some a while
I get /shake *shakes head negatively at me
and
/hand *kisses my hand gently..
It's a good laugh, and sometines worth every credit

I recently came back to the game and start a whole new character. Started out with all the basics you get with JtL and such. It helped get me started towards my Master Droid engineer (4 boxes to go).
Being that I needed money as a Novice Droid Engineer, I decided to try and make some buisness contacts with the two things I could make that wouldn't be complete garbage: Unprogrammed Droid Chips, and v1 Flight Computers.
I contacted a Master Shipwright. She wanted them in crates which I couldn't do because I didn't have equipment factories. She gave me 50K and said, 'Go find some equipment factories. They should get you 2 of them... if not, I'll send you more'. I found 2 at 30K each and used her money and what little I had to buy them. She then paid more than I wanted for the items, but as she put it: "I can still make a profit off these with the amount I gave you."
Later, I found a really nice Crafting Station and I was 20K short on it. So, I asked her if she could loan it to me. Boom, I had it.
I still owe her the 70K and I will be paying her back within the near future. However, as she put it. "I'm not giving you anything, I'm investing in your company." Made me feel so much better to have it put that way. She put money in to get her chips and flight computers. I don't sell either of those on the bazaar because I feel I shouldn't compete with my patron.
I tend to sell my entertainer droids at cheap levels. I even have entertainers tip me extra because they feel I should get more. But, once I'm on my feet, I plan on giving the good will I received.
Its good to see people who care about the new guys and the community in general.

I was in my shop one night, and there was a guy dressed in the newbie marksman outfit. I send him a tell to see if I could help him find anything, you know the standard stuff, and he tells me that he really needs a good carbine, but he only has 2000 credits. Now, I thought to myself, what the hell, lets really blow his mind.
I asked him to hold on and wait a second. I made him a Krayted carbine (I think the tissues were +60 -.07ish) and told him to hold on to his money, cause he'd need it.
The upshot was, I felt GOOD for the rest of the night that I managed to help someone.

For the past two days I've been running into every cantina I see and tipping every entertainer I see respond to a live comment 50K - 100K depending on how cute their toon is.
I must of spent around 50 million in the past couple days.
Some of my guildmates think Im crazy, but in then end whats the difference between 350 million credits or 50 million credits? I can still buy almost anything i want with 50 mil, and by spreading around that 300 million credits to noobs and entertainers hopefully I can cheer up some of the folk in our current morose pre-CU times.

I am glad to see this thread is still alive and kicking after so long. During these turbulent times, we all could use the goodwill offered in these posts. I'm gonna tip the first noob or live novice entertainer I spot tonight.

This practice is in violation of TheFerengi Rules of Acquisition.
Rule #001, 020, 042, 051, and 144.
I know you will say, what does theFerengihave to do with Star Wars. They have nothing to do with it, but the rules are still good. ![]()
Rule 001»Once you have their money, you never give it back.
Rule 020»Only give money to people you know you can steal from.
Rule 042»What's mine is mine, and what's yours is mine too.
Rule 051»Reward anyone who adds to your profits so they will continue to do so.
Rule 144»There's nothing wrong with charity...as long as it winds up in your pocket.
Have a nice day. ![]()

Well it's not long time ago i started my alt after reaching paddy. I decided to go help a little in the med centers and cantina's, before i would power grind 2 profs so i can respec in cu. it was pretty funny healing mid lvl players wounds in the med center (vet's seem to have meditate or get them healed by guild most of the time). and then after me in noob clothes no badges, tipped me maybe 5k to show charity, and then tipping them 50k back. they didn't have a clue, until i told them i had a jedi, and those money, takes me 5 mins to regain from missions.
Didn't really get time to do something else, since i just started a ls resource business.Takes takes along time to craft refined crystal packs and split resources, make travel packs, ls tool kits etc. ertc.
But I usually tip all the novices in eisley a few k when im there to pick up different bazaar sales.
Also if i get into conversations, i usually tell the crafter wannabe's that they should either start with only artisan, or a combat prof, cause crafting is impossible to get succes in as a noob. Maybe its tough to hear, but i'dd rather spare them tons of time on crafting till they finalyl get novice armor smith and foinds out noone wants to buy their stuff.
