Actually the best response I've seen to hand outs is the following macro:

/target newbie-beggar;

/pause 1;

/tip 1;

/pause 1;

/ui actiontoolbarSlot00

As long as they stand within range they can make30 credits a minute, or even1,800 credits an hour. If they don't want to do missions, then they can be my groupie. Of course adjust the time as much as you want.

Quitters never win, winners never quit, but those who never win AND never quit are idiots.

I make a habit of tipping New Players. I like the drive by method where I tip them and then take the shuttle or my ship before they know what has happened.

If they send me a tell asking whyI tipped them I tell the my Galactic Express card was stolen and somebody must be tipping in my name!

Cheers!

I usually take the time to help the n00bs run missions. I agree that playing to that level helps them out a great deal, and can be very fun. Especially without buffs

Every once in a while I'll head to Coronet and give the Doc 100k and pay for the buffs of the next 10 people. That in itself can be fun too Most people are like...Why in the world would you buy my buffs?

On Tarq I routinely walk around the starter cities and tip anywere from 50k-100k, depending on the amount of credits on me, to the guys in starter clothes and no prof. badges.

Definitely a great idea, I find it more rewarding than anything to venture out to areas I remember are distinctly for new players such as the outskirts of Mos Eisley where I see brand new players shooting random Womp Rats and Bugs for experiance, and when I see players I can see are trying hard to roleplay their starwars experiance, I love to join them and teach them how to camp under the stars.

Of coarse, I fool them into thinking its too dangerous to travel at night, what with the Sandpeople and all, and then they roleplay their characters slumber on one of the camp's cots, watching the stars and the suns rise together. Whenever their chracters is in a bind with a dangerous creature, they are usually grascious to have a friendly master rifleman their to teach them and rescue them when in danger. I have met some wonderful and amazing people this way, some that I have forever altered their gaming experiance and convinced to stay with this new game they were trying. And I have given birth to many die hard roleplayers this way, a fufilling experiance, that is infinitely rewarding to me.

*cheers to every good heart out there.*

I completely agree and think more folks should do this. I have a mock title in my bio that states I've Masterered the art of helping new players.....

I like finding anyone in newbi clothes with a survival knive and helping them get started and answer questions. Giving money is one thing, but it's great to group with them give them a few pieces of armor and get them on their way.....

I recently went into a cantina and guess what I found? A novice entertainer was dancing and ocasionally saying things. Just to make sure she wasn't afk I gave her a wink. We had a pretty nice RP-ish conversation and I left her a nice banktip. I still dont have millions to give away, but I will make sure to drop by cantinas and support the arts (the live variety).

When I first started I got a few good sized tips from vets. I wasn't begging, in most cases was asking questions. They would ask how long I had been playing, and would tell me I'm really good for only being around a week or so.

So after about a week Istarted to equip myself with bazaar stock armor. This meant the shoes I started with were no longer needed. So I'm waiting for the shuttle in Cnet, and see this guy without shoes.

Now to set the stage, there I stood with my artisan pants, a padded helmet, one padded bicep, one composite bicep, and bone bracers, gloves and boots.

Feeling I was well on my way, it was time to pay back the galaxy that had been so nice to me. So I start chatting with my shoeless neighbor, and ask "hey man, you want some shoes no charge? I hate to see a guy go barefoot."

The trade window opened, I dropped my black dress shoes in and checked accept. He quickly equipped them and said "thanks, what I've always wanted." And tipped me 50k, and he hit /dance. At the time I didn't understand. Now I know he was a TKM playing the role with a full asian themed ensamble, including his bare feet.

My "help" (which obviously wasn't much help) made me feel good because I at least tried. And his 50k showed me it was the right thing to do.

Other than guild recruits I haven't done much n00b helping as of late, but I will make an effort to give more to those that are trying.

Crafting since Publish 5. I'm holding on in hopes the Armorsmith profession gets the love it deserves. I prefer the pre-CU system, crafting and combat. I would also like to see decay and hide gathering reinstalled into the game, as well as some epic Recon, craftable of course. And make being 12 point important again.

Excellent thing to do! Kudos to you, I'd 5-star you if I could

I'm still a noob for the most part, but I'm starting to get on my feet and figure out how to play the game...some veterans, mostly from my guild, a couple not, helped me greatly, and I believe in paying forward. Good karma never goes to waste.

I've already started where I can; when I go to a cantina and see a novice entertainer who's non-AFK, particularly one who's chatting and having a good time, I'll slip 'em a few thou. Hopefully soon I'll be financially solvent enough I can make it 20K. I've done similar stuff with novice medics at the hospitals--being TKM I don't even need 'em to heal me while I'm there, but if anybody could use the cash... Total newbies out in the starter areas (strange to be calling somebody else that, I was among 'em a little under two months ago) just starting out I prefer to help with goods and information; tipped one enough to get him some buffs and showed him how to get them, plus got him some armor (ubese, but enough for meatlumps and quenkers) and gave him my old pistol from when I was grinding Marksman, then showed him the terminals and helped him with a few missions to get him going...did I give him that spare swoop I had? Yep, think I did... Reason being, I figured the info could help him more, it's the kinda thing that was done for me starting out, plus I know how I'd've been as a brand new player who came into a buncha cash...I'd buy some crap off the bazaar and think I'd struck gold.

Someone gave me 50k when I first started playing swg so every so often when I spot someone who's new I make a point of expaining what people did for me when I started and how I can now pass on the favour, all I ask of them is that they do the same once they're in a position to do so.

More often than not I bet they forget all about the gift they got when new.
