Great ideas! I can tell you've played KotOR quite a bit! Would be nice if Jedi could pick skills like that as well.
Considering the game is heading more and more towards a full scale Jedi population, I would think this would help the crafting community a bit more.

I confess that parts of it (upgrades)is ripped off KOTOR. I have always considered the SWG lightsaber/robe system heavily inferior to KOTOR, which is sad considering SWG is the MMORPG and all.

Jedi where once meant to be hidden away and rare... but pandora's box is open, so the game must adapt to it to make sure theese professions not go without the ability to profit of the situation.

I also believe this might make more Jedi to make their alt's into theese professions, increasing access to customers and more competition on the market, which is healthy for the system. I havnt seen an armorsmith since the CU myself, and seeing a master droid engineer is like spotting elvis.

nah, i saw a droid engy, he gave me everything cause he was leaving.

It's not much about what Jedi need, but what other professions need to be able to sell. However, check here to learn the truth about how much armor each of the 5 disciplines really have. Comment there if you need to.

Armor is one of many things, Jedi are already fine. I understand your point about crafters needing their business, but I say its time Smugglers or Chreature Handlers get some love, Jedi have had 35-50% of all publishes pretty much Jedi Attention.

Jed 'Content' is of low priority, and I would never suggest otherwise. Smuggler and Entertainer missions should be implemented in the game before the FRS is turned back on.

Before that happens though, we need what's broken fixed and repaired. There the seats are turned... You see,Smuggler's actually got revamped in the Combat Upgrade!!! all of their abilities now work as per description!!!
Post-CU it's fairly unique to play a profession that actually have 22 boxes of abilities that actually work and have an use.
Despite being "in the scope of the cu", professions like Commando and Fencer are examples of professions who's iconic abilities are clearly broken and therefore need attention now.

Then there's one step worse... The five Jedi Disciplines, Rangers and Creature Handlers have one thing in common: They where "not in the scope of the CU". Our skillsets where not upgraded to be balanced in the Combat Upgrade. This have lead to a situation where the majority of the Jedi disciplines areincompatible with the current ruleset. Most of it is therefore no longer used at all, save for about 20-30% that are now severly overpowered for the same reason. Jedi are getting tweaked, fixed, modified etc now, when they should have been streamlined/upgraded with the rest of the system 4 months ago, and not be brought live in this condition.

Also "Jedi" consists of 90 skillboxes, 65 abilities and 5 skillsets. Saying that a "Jedi fix" involves all Jedi is like grouping together TKA/Swordman/Fencer/Pikeman/Brawler or Pistoleer/Carbineer/Rifleman/BountyHunter/Commando as the same thing. A fix for "Marksman" is as much fix for Smuggler, as a fix for "Jedi Force Defender" is for me.
What would you say, if I say;"A smuggler should be happy becouse they have T-21 and Powerhammers, since they have both Brawler and Marksman"? I know what that sounds like, but I consider someone blaming me for "Jedi Fixes" as equally absurd.

If you are a Smuggler, you should actually be happy you have a character that got revamped in the Combat Upgrade.
You see Master Force Healer (what I am playing) have received almost no attention at all since August 2004 when they where brought into the game. We where severly broken in the Combat Upgrade and are still broken. Then to pour salt in the wounds, our only abilities that worked where severly nerfed in pub 19 thanks to dabblers. As a smuggler you should know why I hate dabblers with passion.

There are currently 3 left of us in Corbantis. Safe to say that both Creature Handlers and Smuggler's are very common in comparision.I have 2000 armor. I have 20 defense. I have no access to improve my weapon (I have~300dps). My heals are barely enough to sustain myself. I can barely keep myself alive. I have issues with medium-range quests on Kashyyyk (I have a pistoleer friend tanking for me). It is so bad since Publish 19 that I completely stoppedto play the game as I have no further use in this game. So now I sit on the forum, waiting for a time in which I can participate in the game again.

There are thoose who tell me to regrind to one of the working disciplines, but wouldnt that be to give up what I want to play to unnaceptable terms?

Reason: The lack of multiplayer pve content and Star Wars feel.
For 3 years I have tried to find excuses to stay in game but only the expansions offered me what I subscribed for in the first place: A multiplayer Star Wars pve experience with friends around the globe. I found friends but with almost no addition of pve content they dropped out one by one. Now it's my turn.

As you [seem to have] pointed out, Jedi have issues but Many other proffesions have issues as well. I just do not think that Jedi should be in the game at all but thats not my point,

(and before you say I just wish I had one, I am one on Kettemoor, but only for the extra slot)

Jedi is not the way it should be, I agree, but there are so many more things that need fixing [seeKashyyyk, content, pretty much everything] and To most people Jedi is the last thing they want the Devs to spend more time on.

I think it would be nice to give smugglers somthing to smuggle and maybe give us pilots alittle content, its just a fact that Jedi get more attention then everyone else and whilewe [Jedi]do want/need fixing, there is so much more thats broken that shouldbe fixed first.

Actually, the part of your statement in Yellow above is patently false. EVERYONE wants something done in regards to jedi. Most, like you - Think Jedi shouldn't be in the game - Go look in ANY profession forum, not just Jedi or BH - And you will see posts in regards to Jedi. The masses call for either the removal of Jedi, or at least the "dumbing down" of Jedi. it's THIS fact that makes Jedi get as much attention as it does. Jedi call for fixes.. Other professions call for Nerfs, or extinction.. It's a never ending cycle.

It's actually kinda funny to see aplayer say in their posts "Give xxx profession some love, Jedi have had enough" - And then see a post by the very same player making suggestions on what should be done to and/or about Jedi.

I think it would be nice to give smugglers somthing to smuggle and maybe give us pilots alittle content, its just a fact that Jedi get more attention then everyone else and whilewe [Jedi]do want/need fixing, there is so much more thats broken that shouldbe fixed first.

And believe it or not, MOST Jedi ALSO want other professions to get fixed. If they were fixed, people would be having more fun with their characters, and might possibly be realizing that the game as a WHOLE needs tweaking amd adjusting - And not just their own profession, and Jedi...

Phael'yn Maxlord
- I support Common Sense - Too bad it's in short supply.

Quote that sums up the current, flawed direction of SWG:
"No, I do everything solo and I see no reason why I should need anyone else"

A way to bring Combatant and Crafter together.

Here's the truth about "attention":
Publish Love O' Meter Post-cu:

N=Nerf (-2, step back)
B=Bugfix (-1, means broken profession)
I=Improved (+1, improvements lead to a better game)
C=Content (+2, step forward)
L=Love (points combined)

Publish updates with:
N B I C L
Jedi: 0 1 0 0 -1
Defender: 2 0 0 0 -4
Enhancer: 5 4 3 0 -11
Healer: 4 2 0 0 -10
Wielder: 2 6 4 0 -6
Lightsaber: 3 3 4 0 -5
Smuggler: 0311 0

Number of currently broken abilities:
Smuggler: 0 of 10
Defender:1 of 4
Enhancer:8of 18
Healer:7 of 11
Wielder: 6 of 12
Lightsaber: 4 of 15

I am currently assembling a list of broken abilities for all professions in this game, and onlySmuggler have 0 broken skills right now as far as I have found.

All I'm trying to say is I believe that there are more important things to fix before we do more with Jedi. I think Jedi are a hole that just keeps getting deeper and never should have been opened, but you really cant get rid of Jedi or anything, so I'm not really sure people will Ever be happy with it.

I'm sorry but I dont feel like talking about this anymore, I'd rather talk about real life politics on a real life Forum, I said what I wanted to say and thats it for me.

Interstellar commerce is too easy. And the mechanics of the vendor system make it that way. Let's say the Empire controlled access to Tatooine and Endor and whatever else planet produced tissue to enhance weapons. Hunting the Emperor's private hunting grounds and selling resultant products would be illegal and provide a basis for smugglers to smuggle something.

droid engies shouldbe able to build combat buff droids,

used up like seeker droids ( one use things ), the longer you practice with this little ball floaty bot shooting lasrers at you the better your buff...

after say 5 mins u reach maximum ' warm up ), and your 'block' increases significantly eg +40..., then it slowly runs down over say half an hour use slowly returning your block to its normal state,

as though u are practicing and preparing for ranged attacks with it..
