Thread: Multiplayer vehicle Business
I spent about 4 hours one day just driving new players from the starport to new and exotic locales. (including the bank, the Fort Tusken and the Sarlaac)
never charged a single person, but had a lot of interesting conversations (sort of like a Taxicab Confessional thing going on)

Interesting Ideas. I like them and will pass them on but of course I can't make any promises in any changes.
My proposals for a vehical re-vamp:1. Make each vehicle have a base type which can be seen upon /exam. Make these values speed and terrain negotiation-
The main idea here is to create uses for different vehicles. Make
it so that On corrillia I'll probebly want to use a fast speeder and on
dathomire I'll want one which is better a terrain neg.2. Make each speeders values determined by quality of resources used in construction. (with caps of course)3. Give us a Multi passanger vehicle that is fast enough to be worth owning.4.
Give mounts the best terrain neg. make them worth owning.
For example, make it so that on Dathomire it might be worth riding to
the village on a mount as opposed to a speeder.

Loved the idea when the new multiplayers vehicless came out. Not to run a taxi service per say. But I did get a few people together and got a "mini-van" from a friend. Painted it up and hopped inside.

Drove around town only slightly faster than we could have walked. Notsuch a good point as we live on Lok.

Figured what the heck? I spent months playing this game and wandering around solo..I'll start a tour schedule...let people see what was out there beyond the numbing grinding of professions.
The sunsets on Naboo, the green wilderness of Rori, Plains of Talus. The ship was too slow for any of the other planets and everyone had seen Tatooine and gotten sand in their shorts. Forget Dantooine, beautiful place but between the groups and the lag.....
Ran a few trips. Saw some interesting things....took the shuttle to the nearest and hopped in because Time is precious and we can't get there fast enough in the minivan. So she was retired, never even named her.....though I've named all of my vehicles and ships in this game. From my first "rental" speeder bike to the Barc that was just given to me as a gift from a friend who left the game. She remains in my datapad nameless, waiting for the chance to be useful.
And then, you have the "fix" to vehicles requiring me to be groouped. Not a problem for me but with my Ab-1 (name is blinky) it's a minor inconvienence.
So as far as having given thought to usefulness? Or running a service...impractical at best and annoying at worst

I guess I'd have to write two of them.
See, on Eclipse, I'm starting a Hunting Academy (basically, the course load involves practicing the little write-up I did on how to kill big game). We have bunk beds as our residence hall, we have a class room, etc. As soon as the multi-player ships came out, I bought the big one to act as a school bus for the field trips we're going to take. ![]()
