The Cash and Point of the original game when you died and left everything on your corpse is the case. In terms of other players been able to loot you, it does specifically say in the manual you could allow others to loot you in order to bring backyour items to you. Especially if you died in the middle of a bunch of nasties.

I personally like the cash/bank option as it allows you to see how much you earn on a set of missions etc from looting/rewards etc. Basically giving you 2 ways to keep it... crazy I know but handy.

The bank is also useful for keeping items in your safe deposit box, maybe this is why they kept it in the game..

originally your gear was safe as long as it was insured...that was the original purpose of insurance so you would have it when you arrived at the cloner and didn't need to go find your corpse

your cash was supposed to be lootable in pvp but not bank funds...whether that actually made it into the game at any point, i don't actually remember but that was the plan

If you joined with a bank it should be an option on the bank terminal when you click on it. The specific area that you put your stuff in doesnt matter, but the planet that the bank you join is on does. So if you join a bank in the Southeast corner of Naboo, you can get your stuff from the safety deposit box in the Northwest corner of Naboo, but on any planet besides Naboo, you cannot get to your safety deposit box. If you arent getting the join bank option when you go to the banking terminal, you probably joined a bank on a different planet not knowing what it meant. Only solution to this is planet travel until you find the bank that has your box.

It just occurred to me...it may be possible to hold even more than 2 billion if you carry credit chips (from JTL) as well. Not that I will have to worry about hittingthe money cap anytime soon .
