You're doing great. I've been playing for over a year, and last week I only had around 500 credits. I've found that JtL is a great source of income, especially in the higher pilot tiers. Tier 3 missions reward with 25k. If you don't own JtL, I would highly recommend getting it, because pilot takes no skill points and it's a whole new way to make money. Do some space station missions and the money will be rolling in. Of course, this can't compare with crafters that have awesome spawns and a lot of publicity, but it's a start. BTW, Welcome to Star Wars Galaxies.

I thinkI saw this suggested somewhere but Im going to repeat it, Find your galaxy forum and talk to the people there. The people from your own server will be able to give you more ins and outs then we can here. They know the econamy of your server and they can help you in game as well, all we can realy do is say try this and good luck.

There are alot of good posts above mine with great suggestions. Here are a few personal tips from me...

Quick ways to make money.....

1)Artisan Missions.....

Train novice artisan and you can get survey missions from a artisan mission terminal. All you have to do is find a good resource spawn 1000 meters from the terminal, go to the terminal and get a mission for that resource, go to the waypoint, survey and repeat. You can easly make 20k a hour this way. Any crafter on your server should be able to help you learn to do this.

2) Jump To Lightspeed......

Someone above posted this. At tier three between loot sales and mission pay offs i can easy make 150-200k a hour.

3) Scout......

With novice scout you can harvest resources like meat and bone from creatures. If you harvest the right ones you can make 50 or even 100 credits per unit of resource. I dont know of any creature resource thats worth less then 10. How do you find the right one? Talk to a few chefs and doctors. Ask them what they are buying and how much its worth. Then talk to a master scout or ranger and find out what you need to kill to get it. You can also check swgcreatures.com (if thats wrong someone say so). One of my carecters is a Master Ranger, Master Pistoleer. It is easy for me to make 1 million in 3 hours. As a novice scout it may take you a week to do the same but you can do it.

4) Crafting......

To be honest I never realy made money as a crafter though I have always been one. Crafting is fun butI never wanted to invest the time it takes to be secessful. Some of the richest players are crafters though. Armorsmith, Weapon Smith, and Chef are the best ways to go.

5) Loot......

For this you realy need to finish your combat templet and get a good set of composit armor. To get real "money loot" you have to be able to kill high level NPCs.

6) Resources.......

With novice artisan cames the ability to survey. Get a few harvesters, even the cheep ones to start out, and start mineing. You can almost always get 1 credit per unit for stuff. If you ask master crafters what they need and what you should be mineing you can get alot more for the right stuff.

7) Buffing.......

Again this takes time to reach, almost everthing in SWG takes time. If you go the Master Doctor route, once you master you can buff people for money. Depending on your server you can get 10-25k per person. A MD on a friday night can easy Net over a million and can gross upwards of 2 million.

Finding a Good PA/Guild........

Like someone else said, getting into a good guild or PA is a good way to start. Check your galaxy server to see who is recruting. Guilds generly help there members out with stuff ranging from credits to items to get you started, to help leveling you profession and training. Most guild also either have thier own player city or are apart of one. There are great benifits to being in a player city as well. You dont have to travel as far for mission. You house may be close to a shuttle port so you dont have to run as much ect.

Having Fun........

The key to this game is having fun. I know alot of people that have never had more then 100k and realy enjoy the game. Something to ask yourself is how much doI need to be content. Do I need to have 100 mill and all the expensive toys? Can I live on 100k and realy enjoy myself? Thats something only you can answer.

Good Luck To You and Welcome to the game. If your on naritus server send me a tell. I almost always play as Tolk these days. Id be more then happy to show you the ropes.

One thing I always recommend new players do that I haven't seen anyone else suggest is: Do the Newbie Droid Quests... ALL of them (there is one for each of the basic professions). You can do these quests while you do regular missions from the terminals & quests for NPCs and they not only help you learn what the different professions are like to play, but they pay credits too.

Heya and welcome to game

All the things suggested here have been great. Just wanted to add a few things. Before you join a guild get to know at least 10 of their members to make sure you get along with them. Always nicer when you enjoy the company of your guild.

Secound. Yes you need to make money ... but it shouldnt be at the cost of fun. I am not the ricest person but I have fun. Find something you like to do in game ... read up on the profession and see how they make money. Yah JTL is a great way to make money, selling off the looted peices. Plus can do that while you level. Personally I hate space so this would be a horrid way for me to make money.

Also when you find a profession you like ask people on your server how they make money with it. You can learn alot by talking to alot of people in game. Each server's economy is a bit different.

Good luck and may the force be with yah
