Ya just said that if ya wanted to, Freedom paintings could be priced at 500K. Its up ta you as the seller to decide if they are gonna remain at 500K or not.

I reckon it all boils down to what it will take to give up your property. If the seller ain't willin' ta part with an ADK unless it is at 10 million credits, then that's a done deal. Case closed. It don't even matter if it can't be sold at 10 million because there ain't nobody willin' ta buy at that price, the seller is the one that has to give up the ADK. So it is ultimately the seller that can name the price, and it don't even matter if it can be sold at that price or not.

Now man, I agree with ya that if the seller wants to sell or needs to sell, then he's gonna do what it takes to get a sale for as much as he or she can get. But if there is no real urgency to sell, there is no gun pointin' at the seller's head to drop prices.

Yes, most prices are too high, but you can look around and find a reasonable seller. Every game with an economy will end up the same way, not because everyone is willing to pay out, but because those who play 24/7 are willing to pay out. There are venders out there that know how to keep customers comming back though and have realistic prices, so find them and give them your buisness.

ok ive seen lots of talk i stirred up here at any rate let me say what i mean:now first off i know sellers set the price but the fact that the medium price is so high as that a painting wich dous nothing then hang on youre wall is sold for 1 mill or summit thats gotta be a sign that most of the sellers are greedy as to charge it for that high!its pretty dumb that the values ARE that high and that that IS determined by the sellers..so then THE SELLERS are greedy cuz they charge way more thenreasonable...enough to make rich ppl pay but no longer affordable for the average player..wich gous for most stuff...and theres my problem....for example if a clone trooper painting wich is earned by driving around and taking some survey data, invluding the bolotaur beach you just drive past it grab it and gogogogo!then if that same painting wichu can get ina min or so is priced around 500k,thats pretty damn high!and not a reasonable price for that effort!and most stuff have that problem,if things where at reasonable prices more ppl would buy cuz it was affordable but nowadays only richasses can afford that sorta thing..and thats not very good and its all cuz most sellers are greedy.

It's been said before, but I'll reiterate. Ultimately it's the buyers that set the prices in SWG. The buyers...not the sellers. Just because I think my CDEF pistol is worth a million credits doesn't mean anyone is going to pay that price. So, if you don't like the price for something, then don't buy it. Even rare loot can go for widely varying prices if you're willing to bide your time and shop around.

And calling sellers greedy is just asinine.Everyone in this game is greedy, to a greater or lesser extent. EVERYONE! Just because you make free stuff for friends or toss a few credits to noobies once in a while doesn't make you Mother Teresa. As long as you have credits in your bank and any possessions whatsoever, you are greedy.

you just wont get it will you?if the prices are set so high and most are refusing to lower the prices ARE set at greedy lenth, and of course if the buyer is to damn stupid to take action that has the same damn thing, and im not saying im mothet teresa but to at least show some care for the buyer ands NOT ripping their legs off by settinga rediculous price would be nice!

It all depends on what you buy, a clone trooper painting, the aniversary paintings, Polished krayt dragon scull and items like that will sell for a bit since they are items that can be gotten only 1 time by each player so its a limited supply of them, if you could get 50 of them each they would most likely sell for around 10k pr, the Victory poster is a good example it used to go for a few 100k but now you find them on the bazaar.

In my oppinion 35k for a crafted adv laser rifle isnt expensive since while you were grinding to get CL54 you most likely made that and more with the new mission payouts.

The objects you are talking about are low supply high demand items which will always fetch a higher price than something that can be made/gotten easy.

Basically what we have here is some people are of the opinion that if x% of the people do not have the credits RIGHT AT THIS TIME to buy something, then the seller is greedy. Does not matter if the thing is easy to get by driving around and doing some surveying, the fact the someone is charging more then they want to pay it comes down to greed.

Toons who have started that very day should be able to afford great weapon, great armor, fast vehicle, at least one painting, and a house or someone is greedy. It is always the other person who is charging too much for too little effort and not the person who does not want to put in the time to find the painting or do missions until they can affort the painting.

thats the point market value is pretty high for some not all,but for example the clone painting, for wich all u do is run arounda safe environment is a bit high..there are more like that, but i gues you have a point but ya gotta admit some items can go for rediculous prices!mostly the rarety aint all that either!but for example the ADK or BARC they are good things n all but where i come from 10 mill is ALOT of money to pay to prevent summit from decaying ora good bike, now especially the ADK is dumb since youl spend more money on that alone then getting the thing fixed ur trying to anti-decay:S

Well, ADK prices have dropped considerably in the past few weeks. They used to go for 15 mill on Corbantis, now I see them for 8 mill. They'll probably drop even more in time. Same will probably be true for the BARC speeders.

Anything that is a quest item where you can only get one of them per character will be artificially high even if its easy to get. Most people will want to hang on to their quest rewards so there won't be many available for sale. And there will be some people who want more than one for whatever reason or who just don't do the quest themself (lazy or don't know how) and don't mind paying for it.

Like the Wookiee life day paintings. They were easy to get but you only get 1. If I want a set of each style then I have to buy them and most people don't want to sell.

Vet rewards are going to fetch high prices because they are so limited.

The original post sounds more like an accusation than a question.

I don't think that prices in general are out of control or that there are a lot of greedy sellers.

Some things are really pricy and its just based on the rarity.

Some people charge more than others. Norstroms charges more than Sears. Just a different business model. If buyers want a low price then they need to shop around.

Lots of times people have higher prices simply because the item is in just high demand that if they charged any lower price then they wouldn't be able to keep the item in stock at all. For example a small Chef spends 2 days running off a batch of 20 crates of XYZ food and puts them on their vendor for 75k each and 2 hours later they are all gone. So next time he raises the price to 100k and those sell out in 8 hours.. next time 150k and those last 2 days. So now he charges 150k and they sell at a fairly steady price.

Sometimes the market value is pretty obvious on certain items by watching the trade forum. ADK's will have WTB, WTS and auction threads in trade forums all the time. SO you can skim through a couple pages there and see if they are selling for 5M or 10M or 15M. So if someone sees eveyrone else selling them for 10M and then offers theirs for 10M too, thats just going with the market value.

ADKs dropped so much, because there arn't really any super good weapons to ADK. People had a bunch sitting around and flooded the market with them when they tried to cash in.
