I just saw an auction which a premium pearl was set for a 15 mil min 20 mil buyout there was a min bid in about an hour and a buyout in about 3 hours, this is madness, something needs to be done, at this rate a good lightsaber will cost 90-100 mil, and thats iff all of the pearls tune well.

this is a severe problem with the game. money shouldnt buy better armor, it should buy BARCs. money shoulnt buy better weapons, itsshould buy statues. money shouldnt buy pearls, it should buy furniture. this is a game and should remain fun, not a chore.

This would be because premiums don't drop, people are cashing in on the ones they have left.

If the premium pearls continue to not drop, then you will never be able to make a "good" lightsaber anyway. Regardless of how many credits you have to throw around.

Eventually, all of the premium pearls will leave the market forever. Since they can not be used by others once they are tuned, and since new ones are not being introduced to the game.

That's why the prices have skyrocketed, because they are so rare now. Simple supply and demand.

let me guess, you normally play FPS like counterstrike and the likes of that. money buys what you want to buy, if its a t21, a suit of faction armor , a couch or a barc speeder thats your choice. its not a chore since you can pretty much buy any weapon in game cheap and the same with armor.

i dont know what fps means, and ive never played counterstrike. i just dont think its cool that the winning factor of a battle is how much money someone has

Supply and demand.

Supply is Low because they don't drop... Demand is high because everyone and their dog is a jedi...

Have you ever played an RPG before (role-playing game)? Every RPG ever made, from D&D in the 1970's to SWG today has had money/treasure/loot as the driving factor and the primary determination of success. If that's not to your liking, then you should be playing team-basedFPS (first-person shooter)games, where everyone starts the same (not counting'twitchy' skills, of course). I highly recommend Battlefield 2, it's a blast.

LOL, how do you make your money? do you craft to make your money? or do you do combat? Or, do you fly? If you think crafting for money is a chore stop it. If you think fighting for money is a chore, stop it. If you think flying is a chore, stop it. After all 3 of those things are stopped, then you don't enjoy the game enough. This game has those 3 things to get money. You want crafters to craft weapons for free, is that it? There is no point to it, and nobody will. How many architects can one server hold? If thats the only stuff that could be crafted, then that max will be reached quickly, so NOBODY will be making money, so everybody would quit. That is why we craft *almost* everything in this game. Because that is what makes this game different. If you want what you are asking for, go play EQII, or guildwars, or something. This game is the way it is. Crafters craft everything, you have to pay for it. If you have a problem with that, then BECOME A CRAFTER, and do it for free. You can fix all the problems in the galaxy if you really want to, but don't try and ruin everybody else's experience because YOU think everything in this game is a chore.

I think making money in this game is a lot of fun. I remember when I made the first million (flying) I was proud of myself. The second million passed without realizing it, then one day, I had 10 mil. I was proud of that too. Thats what you have to do, find something that is not a chore for you to do. Have fun.

Supply and demand.

Pearls don't drop. But that means they are not replenished. Sabers don't last forever, nither do players. As both are removed from the game. The pearls are gone. So prices will normalize trough arttrition.

Hello.. you must be new here

/sarcasm

This game has always been that way. While the CU was an attempt to fix that a bit, it seems all that's happened is different armor/weapons/professions have taken control of the game.

For instance, I have three suits of armor I wear depending on the situation. One for melee encounters with high kinetic, one for PvP with high enerty, and one for general encounters which is fairly balanced.

I have a few weapons I choose from given the situation I'm in too.

In PvP, folks seem to be mostly master riflemen with some doc or a jedi. Note the emphasis... I'm a pistoleer, and master docs are fairly important as well. You do find a range of professions on the battlefield, but the majority are the ones I mentioned.

If you find things ingame to be a chore and not fun, then don't do them. There are plenty of other things you can spend your time doing. I don't say that to be mean, but it is, after all, a game.
