Thread: Set your price crafters
I have to also disagree, many time i buy items that i either grow out of or didnt work as i had planned, so i like to being able to resell what i dont need any longer.
As the other poster stated, if you got what you wanted for the item, dont worry about what they buyer is doing with it, if you dont like they are making more money then you, then raise your prices.
As someone who runs a part-time business doing exactly this in RL (dealing in antique and modern first edition books), I've gotta disagree as well. If the original seller is pricing them low, he/she obviously feels that's all they need to make for the item.
I've talked about this to people that I routinely buy from. The general consensus has always been that if I can resell them higher, more power to me. They got what they wanted for the book, and they are happy.
Forcing an item to be sold for X amount does not contribute to a stabilized free-market economy.
If you have a standard price for a particular item, you could always put the price in the name of the item..... i.e. RIS Helmet 6400/6400/5600 (Carason - 1.2 million cr).
That way, if someone is trying to re-sell your stuff, the prospective buyer would see this person is trying to sell it for..... 2 million, they could look at who created it and contact the original crafter to get something similar.
Just a thought

That is extremely ugly for most products. I include my name and sometimes my vendor wp's in product names, but I think listing the price is obnoxious. It's like irl when you give a gift, you're supposed to remove the price tag.

To a certain extent I agree, but I have done this before when another player was buying my T-21s, slapping on a PUP and selling them for 180k.
I don't mind reselling, hell I am a Master Merchant it's part ofmy template (it's about the only content they have), but increasing prices by a totally unreasonable amount is something I disagree with.
price fixing is a very bad plan...the forces behind a player run economy is competition, supply and demand
when i find that resellers have attacked my vendors and are reselling higher (used to happen all the time with grenades) i would raise my prices accordingly. my tag is in the title. it eliminated most of that from happening
to fix prices is to basically make competition a harder thing...my prices vary from restock to restock depending on how fast things have been selling.i expect that people who need to resell for more legitamate reasons should have the right to adjust as well. i fully expect my weapons to be resold later after use by thebuyer for example. thats not the same as a mass reseller but a used weapon may not sell for the same price and i would hate to lock it for them.

On the original poster, if your product can be easily resold in that fashion, you're probably not charging enough or producing enough or advertising enough.
Exactly who cares what the person does with it after they buy it from you... This is just another "CAP THE PRICES" trying to twist it a little to get support for destroying the game... If you don't like people buying your stuff to resell raise your prices. If you are trying to undercut everyone expect that someone is going to buy your stuff to resell...
It's like with my Wookie armor when I put out sets this one guy comes along and buys up a bunch and tries to sell it for double and I make a bunch more to sell to my wookie customers. Now I've sold twice as much armor getting all the money I want from it...
