I'm currently in the phase of creating a business that specifically caters to people who are looking for VERY rare items. Everywhere you go, you see tons and tons of vendors, but it seems that the same three vendors in the entire Galaxy that hold "truly rare" items are consistently the same. I want to kind of break the norm for the way we do business, at least in Ahazi, which is where I'm from. My shop will only have around 50 items total...( currently I have 34)... and will only sell the rarest items on the server. I want the lay-out to be like a museum, where the customer can see the items as they walk around the store. I also want the store (definitely a guild hall) to be private, and so customers will have to schedule an appointment to see available merchandiseor to make a purchase. I also think it would be cool to supply people with alcohol (brandy or Mando wine) while they shop. I'm thinking of launching my store next month, i just need a few more items... so far I've collected pieces like: fully assembled jet packs, Binary liquid, Protective Liquid Coating, full anniversary painting set, mandolorian wine recipe, focused crystals, nightsister bracers, and some pearls (flawless)... so far I've spent Millions... I'm talking lots of millions on this project... I know that restocking the merchandise will be pretty difficult, but I'm looking for feedback on the idea... questions? Comments?

That's nice, post this in on your trade forums.

If you have a vendor you will not be able to make the building private, you could have a max entrance fee.

Then this should go on at least your galaxy forum. It isn't good advertising here. Infact. You would have a minimal amount of same server people reading this.

They would be the best to find out if it will work or not.

I think that you should make your store like a gallery, and not have vendors. Potential Customers contact you to schedule an appointment and you show off your goods, that are on display in your gallery. If they decide to buy it, you just trade it to them, for the amount of credits agreed.

If you enjoy RP or are just looking for something different in the game I think this is a great Idea. Though you may end up getting dozens of emails asking if you have this or that and how much you want for it, and if you could drop it off to their vendor, which would kind of defeat the purpose. Let us know how it goes, I may have to create a character on your server to drop by and check out your shop, only if your having an open house or something because I won't have any credits to buy anything.

I think it's an awesome idea, One i have tried once with just paintings and posters, I got a nice round of applause for it, but so many people just sent emails saying they wanted a few things and drop them off at X vendor. but it was teh first and only smuggling academy, where the story was we smuggled these in from teh farthest reaches of the galaxy just for you sort of theme hehe. Ah well...it was fun while it lasted

If you want to create this place, because you like the high end boutique ambience, it's a great idea. Best of luck!

If you want to run this place for profit, it's a bad idea, because your items are not searchable, and the whole set up is very inaccessible since it requires you being online. Many collectors just want to find and buy that rare thing and look at it at home in their own guild hall

But the items Kuja is selling are so expensive, that if you sell one thing, you're doing pretty well.

Unfortunately theres always someone that will undercut you, especially on high end loot.

The best thing to do, as has already been said is to go on your galaxies trade forum and auction the stuff.

If your after the RP element then Im sorry but Ive never personally been able to fully understand how their playstyle works. Or even makes sense for that matter

Maybe you could auction the stuff on the forums and get the potential buyers to come see it in your aladins cave guildhall. Then they might be persuaded to buy something else

If the items are very rare, your shop might become known as a place for rare items. But all the items you listed are hard to get, rather than rare. How do you propose to compete with people with better user interfaces for selling the items?
