Other then the remove looping macro.
Give the players in the game one more command.
The shutup action.
The player types /shutup while conning a spammer.
This lets you smack the spammer and inserts a /dump command into their cue. The result the chain is broken and the spammer shuts up. For an added bonus this could make the player character curl up and cry thirty seconds later.
Admit it you know you want it.

Imperial Noise Control Ordinance
Imperial Decree 128-30-AG-92, Section 7, Paragraph 3, Sub-paragraph a:

that would be awesome, all those AFK grinders....
I think a good way for spamming, is if someone spams the chatbox then their not permitted spatial speak for like 10 seconds, they do it again its 20, then 40, then 60...ect. If they get to 60 I think a CSR should be notified so they can take appropriate action.

You've been spying on my guild's forums haven't you? Either that or reading my mind. Either way it's a great idea. =)

The absolute best way to rid starports of /afk spammers is to have live events two or ten times a day...All the NPC's have to do is spam (irony at its finest) is strafeshot2 or its melee equivalent.
I say have the live events starting at 0001 hrs, 0300 hrs, 0600 hrs, 0900 hrs, 1200 hrs, 1500 hrs, 1800 hrs, 2100 hrs....Repeating this cycle everyday...
Have them in Theed, Coronet, and the MO.....
Would be fun!

No. I hope you were just joking when you posted this. The real solution to stop spamming is to setup a "market place" in the cities, where player vendors are, instead of having players search for hours through reams and reams of player houses to find one item. I know this is annoying because I myself get annoyed when I need a new item. I must have the biggest ignore list on Gorath galaxy though, since I /addignore every spammer I see. Almost 300 players now on that list now and no end to it in sight. Attack the reason people spam, and you will get rid of spam.

What some here call spamming should not be stopped. Its a part of the game, it helps players and it helps merchants. What makes some of the cities a lively place is the so called spam. It helps players find good vendors. Every time, when Im in theed I stop and check the afk messages to see if there is a vendor or something that it would be interesting to check out.
The only sad thing is the spammers who use the tools for useless messages and forget that there is a command called pause in the macro language.
Also realise that there are barker droids. Theese ones are made for only one purpouse. To stand and "spam". To help merchants. What irritates me a little is when I stand and marketing my shop and some kid tells me stop spamming. It is a part of the game. Clearly intended to be like that (refering to the barker droids).
Macros are a great part of the game. A shame they will be removed. The only trouble that I see with macros are buffbots and looting. But that could have been solved another way.. with altering the macro language (removing some commands).
