Thread: Faction Armor, So all Storm Troopers were millionaires ?
I am really quite happy with the CU in general, but I was looking forward to more armor options. Of course now it makes sense why faction NPCs dont drop much in the way of creds, they are all broke, fighting for their cause

Again, I am not asking for it for free, Armorsmiths got to make money to, but does it need to be so extreme? It shouldn't be far off similiar stat armor.
Here's a possible explanation:
NPC stormtroopers are issued their equipment by the empire, or an imperial proxy (eg, Moffs), they don't have to buy it.
PC stormtroopers are all like "volunteer" militia members. They have to provide their own equipment, or have it provided by a wealthy patron, (eg, wealthy people in their guild). PC alliance fighters would be under more serious restrictions; presumably, the alliance would have even less disposable wealth to support PC "militia" troops, and would want to commit available wealth to full-time fighters in regular units. The alliance would presumably be even more willing to attract patronage, and more likely to offer concessions or consideration to wealthy patrons.

Why did they make Faction Armor so that it is so expensive to make, in which translates to so expensive to buy? Why wouldn't they make it so it is easier to make and aquire? I dont understand this approach by the Devs. I was looking forwards to a more Star Wars feel and heck I see less people dressed in faction armor than before. Am I wrong in my thinking? Shouldn't Faction armor be easier to get than other armor? I mean there is a Galactic Civil War going on?

Don't forget, crafted faction armor is also much better than the old faction armor you used to buy with FP. Before, faction armor was just for looks...now it will actually provide some meaningful protection (well, as meaningful as any other type of armor in the game).

I'll say the same thing here I did in my Server's Trade Forums. Before the CU, if I wanted to BUY Faction Armor, and not spend the time investment of running missions, faction farming, etc - I had 2 options. I could either BUY Faction Points from a Smuggler (At @125 a point) in order to use it to get Armor.. or, i could go to one of the Fine entrpreneurs in teh game, and buy the Armor from their Vendor.Average cost of Faction Armor on Radiant Pre CU = 1.4 Million Credits.Average cost of Crafted Faction Armor currently available on Radiant @ 1.4 Million Credits. The price hasn't gone up - It has stayed exactly the same. Results on YOUR server may vary.
Add to that the cost in FP to Bio Link each piece. Not complaining about that, just pointing it out.
The faction armor is way too expensive. Then also having to pay FP to bio-link it... What the heck is the reason for even having to bio-link? So no one can share? Okay "developers," for whatever reason you don't want people sharing faction armor, why punish us with having to run tedious faction missions or participate in mundane PvP?
Same with the quests on Kasshyk... They are so drawn out you lose interest. Having to go into space and escort, having to fly to Yavin and visit Geo Cave... Seriously, it's not fun, engaging or immersive, just tedious and annoying. If the "developers" wanted to creat some immersion they could've made Kasshyk like a real planet and not some restrictive video game where you have to follow a trail.
Seems to me the "developers" are just wanting to make everything as annoying and tedious as possible thinking that the time it takes to complete these tasks means immersion. Well, it doesn't.
