Alright I'm one of those noobs who went and sold their BARC speeder and I have no idea if it was a good trade or not. I got for the BARC a Swoop Bike and 1 million credits. Am I stupid to make this trade or was it a fair trade? And whats the normal price of a BARC I keep hearing all sorts of different prices?

I bought mine for a million credits, the small two person speeder, a shiny new suit of armor and a medium generic house.. probably worth in total only about 320k more than you were paid... and i honestly feel like I gave the guy a good deal. I have certainly seen them sell for more, but that isn't really the point... i think in a few weeks when the bark price is more stable, the 5 and 8 million prices will seem silly. I know a guy who traded his veractyl straight across. And the guy that sold me his speeder certainly has a better start than I did when I came in.

The funny part is... he was just as thrilled with the little car as I was with the barc

Am I stupid to make this trade or was it a fair trade?
======================================================

A fair trade is what the two trader agree to. Another person cannot come along and determine if your trade was fair or not. Were you happy with the trade? Did you get what you were supposed to?

Now if your question was changed to...Could I have gotten more than 'speederbike and 1 million credits' then there is a basis to your query. Just because someone else got more than you does not make your trade un-fair. Circumstances in both situations effect fairness.

On Bria, I have personally seen these sold for as low as 500k. I think 1 mill is about the average price offered to newbs. Veterans wont usually let them go for less than 3 mill.

I can't say you made as much cash as you could have, but also would not characterize it as a rip-off. The BARC is not better than a swoop and to be quite honest, a newb could not afford to repair it too often at current prices. I really hope you enjoy the game. I am glad the total experience brought some fresh faces to our hobby (I didn't think it would). Be sure to check the trade forums for average values of items before you make future trades. Better yet, find a guild with good peeps and they will give you a good idea on values of items and such.

Good luck!

I was offering a million credits. I wanted to find a barc each for me and my two brothers, so i talked to a lot of people. I saw other people offering three to 5 million... I think a lot of these new guys don't realize how far a million credits will go... or just how hard that first million was for most of us to earn. I remember running survey missions for a few hours just to come up with the 20k I needed to buy my first swoop.... or a stack of cheap metal to grind with.... I took up armorsmith because making my own was the only way I was going to get any. If anyone is getting ripped off, it's the veterans forced to pay a million plus for a speeder that, if craftable would only be worth about 20k....since there is no other way to get.

Who's forcing anyone to pay a million credits for a BARC? If you don't like the price, then learn to go without. Not like it's any faster than a Swoop, right? Not like you're being forced to walk everywhere if you don't have a BARC speeder, right?

my point in that sdtaement is that even at price of a million dollars that had the guy concerned he is getting ripped off, he is getting far more money that a bike is worth. n I dont feel ripped off, money isnt really an issue for me, but i think its silly for anyone to feel like they got a raw deal at a million credits for a speeder bike.

On the one hand, I've heard of the BARC's going for as much as fifty million.

On the other, I think that price is totally and completely ridiculous

Mine's a cool bike (no I'm not selling), but I can't see it as being worth more than perhaps 500K at most. I need to (and probably will) race it with my partner soon, against her speederbike, swoop, and AV-21, see who's fastest...still I'll be using my swoop for everyday activities I'm sure, even the thing turns out to be the fastest repulsorlift vehicle around. Why chance wrecking a vehicle I enjoy? Plus one that's a bit of a status symbol right now.

I think a great deal of the 'BARC fever' right now is newness, as well as veterans being a little ticked that they didn't get the things...which in a way I can understand, don't get me wrong, though I still say it's just a speederbike. Getting cheated out of some uber weapon, or no-cost no-decay harvesters, or something like that, that would make more sense to me than getting bent over a vehicle. Not flaming anybody, just my observations there, I think the barking about the BARC is getting out of hand.

Though it is a sweet speederbike Which no, I'm not selling. Keeping my cherry ride.
