Thread: why is there a melle proff in swg

SW is about ranged things like atst blasters, pistols the only thing melle in this game should be jedi,creatures and evocks (those little bear things from return of the jedi) so some 1 mistoke this game for eq or they never watched a single star wars episode so some 1 please try to tell me why theres a melle proffesion ?

ewoks have feelings 2 ya no, just like hippys, and the thing bout brawler profesions if u watch the movies u see ppl carying around pikes and u see ppl using unarmed skills, just not a lot

watch rotj again some how han has a long vibro axe that lando hanging onto also the same melee weapon he hits boba's jetpack with

i've found lots of references to stun batons in the NJO, and i've seen the pikes in the movies, but are swordsmen there just because we are cool?

YEAH WHY ARE THE BEST PROFS IN THE GAME MELEE?? I MEAN THE GUN USED MOST IN THE MOVIES ARE PISTOLS AND CARBINES YET THESE 2 PROFS ARE NEARLY THE WEAKEST COMBAT PROFS IN THE GAME

exactly i seen jedis get taken down by a tkm theres no way a ranged proff like mbh or any marksman proff can really compete in pvp against anything melle unless they have a melle proff

But, a Jedi Knight who is levelled high or a jedi master will not fall to a tkm.
Why are there Melee weapons?
I won't say "because there were some shown in RoTJ or othe rmovies". How about, it adds variety.
I mastered marksman and honestly, out of all the certifications you get at that level, I only used one or two blasters frome ach category. And then with the eltie professions you only get one more level of certification with each.
So, would you not get rather tired?
Plus, it would make it quite easy in pvp..

Alright. I shouldn't. But I will anyway.
1. "Melee"
2. Star Wars is based on the idea that the most feared fighting class in existance is melee based. Jedi don't use blasters, they use melee weapons.

3. There are melee characters (other than Jedi)in every Star Wars movie. Watch them again. Whether Sand People, the Emperor's Guard, Jabba's guards.... pick one. They are there, and each of the melee professions is represented. Really.
