Thread: Is this a Warcry bug or not? Mapai?

There is a situation now where a group can approach a player.
One brawler in the group can warcry the player, and then peace, and no longer attack. Then, the rest of the group can decimate the player, who can do nothing at all to stop it.
Is that working as intended?
My understanding is that the warcry should break as soon as the player takes damage from any of the group members. Am I mistaken?
I keep seeing different people saying different things. Does anyone have a definitive answer?

I would agree with you, I will try to test some with friends tonight. I haven't noticed this in my pvp dealings so far. Also anyone that can add any information on this or any warcry bug, plz post.

ok.. check this....
A Gteffer can warcry without getting a TEF.
The gteffer warcries you for 20 seconds. You can't even attack him.
All his friends beat you to death, literally. You never had a chance.
This cannot be working as intended, can it?

Still testing and have yet to have this used on me or my jedi. This is a possible theory, I warcry you, you are trying to attack ME. My friends beat on you, but you still have me targeted,so you are unable to attack ME. That would be how it would work, but you should be able to attack during the warcry the people that are attacking you. I haven't found anyone in intrepid (the server I play mostly on) using this in a way that you describe. Is it possible what I am suggesting is happening? I also posted on the corr boards for oppinions of other correspondents. If I find anything to report, I will. I will warn you even if I can prove what you say, I would suspect it won't get changed till JTL comes out.
If you read the reports in the links provided, it appears that the person warcried is unable to do anything.
Including healing.
However, my impression was that any damage taken should break the Warcry, no matter who applied the Warcry. Am I mistaken? JEST3R seemed to imply that.
I know it wouldn't get changed until the [cue dramatic music] infamous CR, but I figured ot should get put on the radar. Not enough people seem to know about it for it be the problem CMs used to be.
That said, I know people who do use it, as I have described.
Rather than wait for it to be used on you, why not test it the other way. Get a covert brawler (Master if possible)in your group.
Have them warcry someone, and then not attack.
You, and the rest of the group, in theory will be able to then kill the helpless target, who can do nothing at all to prevent the death. Meanwhile, the warcrier will not be teffed.
If, the mechanics are working as I understand them, that's what will happen.
What I believe should be happening... is that the warcry should break as soon as anyone in your group attacks the person who is warcried. That might be the part I'm mistaken about.
Maybe Warcry isn't supposed to break on damage taken, but that is not how it has been presented as functioning.

What's the status on this bug Mapai? Has it been communicated to the devs yet or are you still investigating?
I have a swordsman/master brawler and I'm willing to work with you to reproduce it on Chimaera if you like. Send me a private message on this forum and we can discuss the practical details.
