Looking for the Top 5 things you would like to see from the GCW as it relates to the brawler proffession. WIll edit this message as we come up with this top 5.

Brawl - definition


Etymology: Middle English
1 : to quarrel or fight noisily : WRANGLE
2 : to make a loud confused noise



I would like to see the Brawler profession become more of an all around scrapper class.


The current model as it exists is pretty good, I think that there are some additional animations and specials that could be implemented to make pursuing Master Brawler more enjoyable.


Each tier of brawling expertise (+box unarmed, +box 1hand, +box 2hand, +box polearm) should confer a unique ability, animation or special making the "brawler" path more fun and desirable.


All of these should be geared to making the Brawler a more scrappy, melee instigator. I think you could even assign horizontal tier titles:


Punk

(+1 box unarmed, +1 box 1hand, +1 box 2hand, +1 box polearm) :

Extensive use of Taunt. A more viable form of Rescue that aggros mobs to melee with you.


Roughneck

(+2 box unarmed, +2 box 1hand, +2 box 2hand, +2 box polearm) :

Elbow Smash - A quick attack with med kinetic dmg. that can be done with ANY MELEE weapon equipped and has a slight chance of stun.


Basicly, the brawler throws a quick elbow inbetween attacks with primary weapon.


Thug

(+3 box unarmed, +3 box 1hand, +3 box 2hand, +3 box polearm) :

Body Check - A quick attack with med kinetic dmg. that can be done with ANY MELEE weapon equipped and has a slight chance of knockdown/posture change.


Basicly, the brawler usestheir primary weapon to push off against their opponent, forcing them into a different posture.


Bruiser

(+4 box unarmed, +4 box 1hand, +4 box 2hand, +4 box polearm) :

Headbutt - A quick attack withlight kinetic dmg. that can be done with ANY MELEE weapon equipped and has a slight chance of dizzy and hits the mindpool.


Basicly, the brawler gives a head bash inbetween primary attacks.


Master Brawler

Shoulder Charge - A cone attack burst run that can be used with any weapon equipped, causes the MB to charge through hitting all opponents in his charge line (cone) and has a slight chance of applying any number pf random state-based effects.


Basicly, the MB barrels into their opponents wreaking havoc!


It should be these kind of things that differentiate a Brawler from the specialists. A Brawler is someone who loves to fight and can improvise with any weapon under any circumstance. Brawling should be less about skill and finesse and more about experience, grit, attitude, and determination.

A branching unarmed prof that isnt TKA. TKA is like the bruce lee, we need another prof to simulate boxing, not martial arts. I say, make TKA take more SP, but make them stronger, and make the new boxing prof sorta weaker... Idk, maybe just two styles with the same strength, but this is cool..

I can honestly say that I never gave this any thought before now. What bralwers want out of the GCW...

Factional armor that is NOT the kind they give the guys with guns, AKA stormtrooper armor. Armor specifically designed for melee.


We really don't serve a good function in the GCW other than meatshields. How many Imperials in the Hoth offensive had swords or hammers?

Darktrooper Armor would be nice for melees. You do see the darktroopers using stun batons in melee after all

I'd like to see more close encounter areas where bralwers would have an advantage. Ranged weapons kick butt outside, but indoors, the bralwers begin to assert themselves. Make sure the GCW covers all kinds of terrian.

Dark troopers are also robots..

I would like to see a clear benfit of being a Mastr Brawler and a Master X (TKM, Fencer, Swordsman, Pikeman). For instance, Master Brawler/Master Fencer gets to dual wield either a new weapon or stun baton, etc. Master Brawler/Master Pikeman gets force pikes. Ther should be something special that makes someone consider coupling Master Brawler with mastering another melee profession.

FIGHT CLUB...


A battlefield type area where all brawlers can meet up and fight for their faction....but with preset rules....not just another battlefield.


With brawler specific loot....

I like the "Fight Club" idea, and maybe make a ranking system that is galaxy wide

I think obtaining master brawler would be more enjoyable if a profession branched off of it..like Master marksman and Bounty hunter..


Of course, I woudln't want anything that could unbalance things how they are, but perhaps an alternate route to what they already have.


I thought about what it could be called, and decided it coudl be named Gladiator.


If you think about gladiator's, they know many fighting tactics, like 1hand, 2 hand, unarmed, and polearms.


You could spread the Gladiator's skills across one handed weapons and polearms for the most part..and possibly add in Shields, so you can do polearm and shield, and sword and shield styles.


I believe if shields were added into the game, and Gladiators could use them, it would make the game more interesting in many aspects.


You could have a stun attack off of a shield, or perhaps an increased defense for a certain amount of time while you can't attack, etc.


No of course, you would have to balance out everything, and make it so running with a shield isn't cheap ,and you can't hit brawlers, etc..but all in all, I think it could be a cool profession, especially cause it used master brawler, and the skills they earn, like lunges, warcry2 and ID2 and berserk2, etc.


any other suggestions off of this idea would be greatly appreciated..
