Thread: Trandoshan Brawler Handicap?

I currently play a Trandoshan Brawler. Although the character is strong in man ways, and in many ways superior to my Human Brawler, he has a serious weakness that in effect makes him inferior to my Human Brawler. The action pool. Trandoshans'action pool is capped at 1000, with low quickness and stamina caps as well. Although a pool of 1000 may seem enough, it isn't even close. I find myself being incapacitated on the action pool ten times as much as the health pool, and I've capped my action, quickness, and stamina pools while dropping constitution to the minimum of 700 and health to a mere 950. In order to avoid demise at my own hand, I must limit my special attacks to about 4 per fight!

Is anyone else having this problem with their Trandoshan?

yes, i find that Action is the limiting factor most of the time.

Interesting to see all these threads about how gimped we are. I haven't yet checked the other profession threads to see if they all feel gimped too. Hopefully we unarmed folks will get some love soon.

I would hope any other pool would be a handicap to a Trandoshan....if it weren't they'd be invinceable.

I play a zabrak and my Health regen is very slow as are my caps for Stamina and Con. I try to balance it out with taking some Mind points and maxing those as I can. Zabrak also have a "Handicap" of less regen than any other class.

I dont have Any trouble at all with Mind....cant imagine running out.....but I get incapped from Health and Action often.

Every class has their bennefits/disadvantages.

Zabraks do indeed have regen problems, but never with the mind pool, thanks to the massive bonus to willpower (can't set willpower below 700). Since Zabraks have problems with regeneration on health and action, I tend to bump up strength and quickness instead, so that my attacks use up less of my HAM bars. It does mean that I have to rest longer when I do need a rest, but I can usually use more special attacks this way.

Also, never, ever forget that you have the Equilibrium innate ability. Since your mind pool will almost never budge unless someone is focusing on it, Equilibrium almost always has a nice pool of points to draw from. Just remember that you can only use it once every fifteen minutes or so, so only use it when you really need it.

Once every 15 Minutes would be nice

It's once an hour. I rarely use it.

Is it really?

I guess I never noticed because I also rarely use it. Only when I get lazy and don't feel like sitting down.

I also play a Transdoshan Unarmed Brawler. I've noticed the same problem, and the only solution I can see for now is stat migration.

Interestingly enough, I thought Transdoshans were ideal for Brawling, but it turns out they may be much weaker at it then intended. *Sigh*.

It'd be nice if we got an unarmed damage bonus or something as well. Those claws shouldn't just be for looks.

To put it in some terms you can compare, a Equal lvl transhodan will have unarmed damage lvl at almost 2 tree lvls ahead of an equial lvl zabrak with thier damage bonus, as well as slightly higher speeds and accuracies. In other words, your claws are worth while.

Hi

I used to have a trandoshan brawler until this problem came up. I then created a trandoshan scout and i still used unarmed combat. This may have taken from my health but i find it is much more efective this way because you get a large amount of action and mind. I find that this is the best way to be a trandoshan brawler.

P.S. I'm always looking for good brawlers to do missions with. My name in swg is Shardan Karr

Just so you know, before you pick a starting planet at character creation, you can migrate your stats to anything you want instantly.

After char creation you can migrate your stats, but slowly.

I have a trandoshan brawler (with migrated stats to max all 3 action stats) with 1000 health and action. When I'm using unarmed it's my health pool that generally hits bottom first. I do take it a little easier on the special attacks than I did as a human but then the trandoshan unarmed speed, damage and accuracybonuses do help offset that. With a medic to back you up trandoshans are the clear winner in unarmed combat ability... going at it solo or without a medic your weaknesses will be more apparent.

Now, asfor theslow regen on zabraks... you might want to pick up some medic skills. Take advantage of that fantastic willpower of yours to heal your other two pools.
