I play a Trandoshan Brawler, specializing in 2H -> Swordsman... I also have the first 2 levels of unarmed and polearm (which I will give up at some point for the skill points, but I want as many low-level skills as possible to maximize my ability to get Apprentice XP). I also have Scout and Medic.
Frankly, the game wouldn't be much fun to play as Marksman or Brawler without having also one of Scout or Medic, preferably both, with precedence to Scout.
I have Hunting 3 and Exploration 2.
I can regularly solo 2 whites together, without difficulty, and I generally use only 1 or 2 special moves per melee. I have found that different specials have differing effectiveness, depending on the enemy (for instance, the 2H Sweep isn't very effective at all against a gorg or something else that is close to the ground... it's very effective against taller combatants... maybe that's just coincidence, but I think not). For mobs that have a low defense against head hits, I've found that just one or two 2H Head Hits will kill them. As was already said, tactics make a large difference... if you're not hitting with one of your specials, or you're hitting for low damage, you're making a mistake in using it... you should try a different tactic.
Trapping makes a difference. I use traps on yellows.
My biggest complaint is that I have much less experience with the polearm, but beacuse the better weapons are more available (and maybe because of the types of mobs I'm fighting), the polearm tends to be a better choice of weapon, so far.
I also noticed that the Anfrathru (sp?) are HUGE WIMPS for the Brawler with heavy axe... I can easily take out a group of 4 or 5 blues... they almost always die in one hit. Unfortunately, there is nothing to harvest from them, so you just get credits and the occasional useless drop.

You forgot to mention the racial ability available to Trandoshans: regenerate. It is only good to use once every 60 minutes, but it may help.

I have made a Trand Brawler also.
Right now, he is almost a Specialist in One Hand Weapon (Fencer) and Rifle (Rifleman).
Does anyone have any advice on armor to wear for him?
He uses a Ryyk Blade and Spraystick as his main weapons and seem to be a nice combo to pull with Spraystick then finish them off with the blade if they actually make it to me.
