I happen to be a fencer... and to tell you the truth... I have only lost to 1 tka... (**edit** Warcry) Just use COB/Bio engineered Dodge clothing and bam, no one can hit you.....

Speedwise, masters will be pretty much the same, both attacking at 1s each. Leading up to master the TKA will be faster. They will cap sooner at 1s.

Damagewise, the TKA will do about twice the damage. The stats on a TKA's vibroknuckler are about the same as the stats on a Fencer's vibroblade, but the TKA gets a very large +damage bonus on top of that.

A fencer excels in defense and not in offense although offensively they do get bleeds and TKA's do not. That mitigates the differential a bit.

So I would say it is a toss up but the TKM has power boost so I guess they can take more damage.

So, the key is to take the def mods in TKA and master fencer and Brawler, right?

Well, I'd say that bleeds are slated for some balancing and therefore any edge from them will probably be lost (currently bleeds are rather powerful because they ignore armor). But then everything is going to be rebalanced soon.

ugh. That will make all the melee professions that much weaker while making TKA appear stronger.

Tell me though. TKA was designed and intended to be the most powerful melee profession, right? It makes sense based on the background.

let me tell u i have taken on many TKA masters when i was master fencer and did not lose to a single one. out of all my fights only once did they manage to KD me, and then i sprange to my feet within a few seconds. dmge wise the 2 bleeds fencers kick unsurpassed ass, and out of all the combat profs i have done so far this by far is both the hardest to raise (**edit** xp till u start getting 1/2 way up the fencer ladder) and also the most fun once master is reached. i was often taking on 3 opponents at once and hardly taking a hit, x2 bleed them all and they will pretyt much kill themselfs. in fact the only time i died was when i got flamed and the burn effect stuck even if the actual hit didnt. IT ROCKS. unfortunately i had to drop it on the path to jedi FS....dam those people that forced me to do this!!

The fighting concepts of the professions are different. TK is designed to disable your opponent and/or out damage them through raw power and speed combined. Very straightforward and powerful.

Fencing can deal out a decent amount of damage quickly but their strength is in their agility. Dodging and avoiding attacks rather than taking them and hitting back harder. Different mentalities. Do what suits you best.

So what is the role of a Swordsman and Pike man? They are slow and the Pikeman is very in acurate, I think the heavy swordsman is too though.

Alot of bold fencers are a good thing. They let there guard down agaisnt TKs thinking its not big deal. Only lost once to a fencerafter I hit master TK and killed about 15 fencers. Still hunting them though. There getting more popular now so I shouldnt have to look to hard anymore. Normally I just use delays with TK mind hit. Most melee pvpers on my server do it buffed. And alot dont use mind buffs. No mind no heals and 4 hits latter by the time the warcry/panic shot is done so are they

To be honest, play the class that you feel more inclined to. both classes has its own advantages as well as disadvantages and the same applies to pikemen and swordmen.

Also consider that TKA'sonly haveAP1 with the vibroknuckles and, doing unarmed 3 with VKs on willget yourself killed if a battle is long drawn out (higher level mobs).anything withmedium armor is going to be a long fight. Dont even bother if the target has AR3 (heavy armor).
