Thread: Discuss: How to grind unarmed 4? How to grind to master?

We keep getting a lot of questions about how to "grind" up to unarmed 4, to master brawler, or to any of the other tier 4 skills. Instead of starting a few new threads a week, I thought we could try to consolidate our advice into one thread.

So go ahead and post your suggestions for gaining experience as a brawler. Be as specific as you like. Discuss unarmed 4 (the most popular and also longest grind) or any of the skills in brawler. If this thread doesn't work, I'll drop in a week or so.

StGabe.

Great idea - I'm working the 4th tier unarmed (on my way to smuggler) and I have to say since I last playeed (about 2 months) either the unarmed attacks have wimped out or the MoBs have gotten CONSIDERABLY tougher.

This is the slowest progression in any skill I've had yet. =\

Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated.

I am a pistoleer trying for smuggler. I use my 2 health bleed shots and then switch to melee. While the mob is bleeding I am pounding away with my fists. Usually about 75-90%of the xpgoes to unarmed for the kill even though the bleeds out do my melee damage. I do this on Bull torturs on talus andI tend to get about 1500 to 2000 unarmed xp from them. But without any range skills it would be very tough to do.

1. grab a pair of VK's (even though you don't have the cert you want the speed and the damage isn't that much reduced)

2. KILL EVERYTHING WITH BESERK. The increased damage will do you good.

It's a very tough road but it's doable.

Heck the 70K is nothing compared to the 125K needed for Novice TKA

Master Brawler/ TK (3 2 2 2) here

I just go to Dantooine and solo any lair I come across with a good set of armor, a VK and berserk2

Although that doesn't help leveling in the lower skills... the best way to gain xp is to group with higher level people on such planets, the enemies will almost always attack the one that is doing the most damage to them, and since it takes upto 30seconds to kill any one monster a lower lvl char would get lots of exp

Vibro Knucklers are a must... Get some good Kinetic resist armor, some good buffs, a crate of muon and then go nuts on anything you see. Huurton stalkers give about 3500 xp each.. hit them with a double bleed and then berserk.

My best advice to grind UA and Master Brawler is find the best hunting spot you can and stay put. My personal favorite is around Mos Taike on Tat. The random spawns aren't easy, but they're not impossible either.

Get the first two boxes in all the skills by killing the yard trash around Mos Entha. Then go get the best weapons you can find and head to Mos Taike. Whether you get the Vibro's or not is up to you. VK's are a definite must for UA; however, vibro's for the other boxes aren't as accurate as the non-vibro's but they're damage output is usually higher. I use vibro's myself, but it's personal preference. I think there's some AP issues between vibro's/non-vibro's as well.

Rori is also a well-kept secret with regards to XP. Narmle has a generous helping of yard trash and thugs that regularly spawn. After you get the first two boxes done, get some missions and move a little further out of the city for good XP.

The tougher planets like Dath and Endor I wouldn't recommend unless your already elite in one combat profession and coming back to Master Brawleror get UA. If that's the case, use your elite profession to kill off the bad guys and UA/Brawler to finish off the lair. Also remember grouping noticably raises your XP.

That's how I did it (Master Brawler/TKA 2,3,3,2).

Good Hunting.

I've been a pike since release (master pike quite a while), and I got master brawler on a holocron. All I can say is, dizzam, Unarmed 4 is harder then Novice pike was. Harder then anything I've done so far, actually. I'm using pets to tank huurtons but I do so little damage it takes 5-10 minutes to kill one, even with a 1.2 second vk

I have some 75% kinetic resist composite armor, 1.5speed VK's, and have been hunting huurton howlers on Dantooine. With my GSP getting in a few hits, I'm getting about 3k unarmed xp per howler, and about 3k for their nest. This is making the 125k for novice go extremely fast.

I'm also a master doc, so I'm always fully buffed. As long as you can swing the armor tho, these are pretty easy, as they only spawn 3 at a time, and sometimes one or two of the three is a baby, or a regular huurton (easier and still give about 1300xp).

I agree, get an awesome suit of Advanced Kinetic layered Ubese (60-80%kinetic resists) and high speed VK's. I got to unarmed 2 in 1/2 hour.

Unarmed I and II can be gained fairly easily with mission work. I used a lot of Rebel missions (early in my career) for Unarmed XP.

For Unarmed III, you might try the Mos Eisley spawn where a bunch of thugshang out all day.

I got alot of Unarmed IVand TK Novice points by running lesser plains bol destroy missions on Dantooine. They're tough, though, so you might want some Medic skills.

And yes, get some VibroKnucklers.

My partner & I bothfilled unarmed 4 box tonight in under 2 hours. Equipment: 1.6 speed sliced vk, 74% kinetic Ubese, +4 melee, +15 defense vs stun shirt and a launcher pistol. He picked upNoviceMarksmanwith the intension of using the launcher pistol to draw off one desert razorback at a time but they defend each other. They were still a good choice as the xp was nice and they don't deathblow. Loads of fun!

I´m playing a wookie with unarmed 3 andthe wookiealmost got owned by Blix Lanister on tatoonie, sad really. =(

Ok he had 3 other guys with him but they where low level. Shame that wookie strenght isn´t added to the damage, since we cannot wear any armour. Regeneration wouldn´t hurt either.

I´m grinding unarmed 4 doing diseased boccats missions, and all my hams are literally depleted aftereach nest, its slow work but its getting there.I see now that the high HAM really doesn´t do much if you take 100% damage all the time without armour. Perhaps the wookie fur could softenkinetic blows a bit, or the fix the wookie battle armour so it actually works.
