Ok I havent dont all combat professiongs, but here are my experiences. I have made novice rifleman, and gotten a few levels in sniping, this is worse than any brawler skill to raise, I have gotten novice pistoleer this goes very fast. Now I have gotten novice tka 2 times, on 2 different servers.

First time I thought it took a really long time, and that was b4 the vk cert. 2nd time recently, it went by rather fast. But I used it in conjuction with 1handed.

1handed is fast and rather easy to get, at level 3 you get an attack that dizzys another character. Master 1handed first.

Then use your 1handed dizzy followed by a lunge attack and if you change the posture of any human pc, maulers, or I was doing stormtroopers with novice medic, and 1handed 3, and a cowardly gurreck.

I was send the gurreck against the camp, let it soak up battle damage, I would then run up to each prone stormtrooper and dizzy him, he would stand up and fall on his back and never get back up again.

Then you switch weapons, polearms/unarmed/2handed, and finish off all the helpless stormtroopers, or any other human npc with a 5k ham and you net 3-5k xpdependeding on race i think, in my case a ton of fp also.

My conclusions,

1handed=faster xp to grind to maser

polearms=maybe faster than unarmed not sure though, I couldnt get a super fast weapon for it.

2-handed, actualy havent gotten 2handed lvl3 yet as this is the most boooring on for me, and seems the slowest.

Unarmed= I got this relatively fast, but yes it does take a bit of time, my advice buy a 2.2 or faster vk, hope for a speed slice, but if not it doesnt matter.

As with each tree as soon as you hit 1handed 3, then use the dizzy to no end, I used a curved sword that had a 1.7 spd. dizzy lunge, and then switch weapons and go on a slaughter fest.

I started my brawler class on a friday evening, and by sunday evening I had 300k and lots of rebel faction points. and now with my character comeing up on his 2nd week I am half way up tera kasi, I can solo pikets, and dark troopers no problem, I earned all the money from storm trooper missions, I have advanced ubese with 70% kinetic defense, and actualy I can solo 3 pikets at once, I also have nearly master medic, and I just got novice ch, I am now working on 2handed to complete master brawler, all while having fun, making tons of credits, and hanging with friends in the guild.

If you plan tka get kd first, and then dizzy, since you will have dizzy from your sword to still use.

Cheers.

Some quick questions as I approach my 14th profession... well Artisan 14 and Brawler 15 but anyway...

I already did Swordsman and have stored up xp to relearn that tree.

Looking for advice as to weapons I can start with and progress to for Unarmed, 1-Handed, and Polearm. What is the best I can use at each stage?

Also with unarmed can I use a VK now? I heard somewhere that you can use non-certified weapons and do less damage, but even that must be more than the 25 points I do with my hands.

Finally how long is Brawler? I read somewhere it can be done in 2 hours? I still have master marksman and 66-71% full Ubese so with buffs I can easily bleed to start and eventually kill with whatever I need xp in, is that the best method?

yes you can use VK's with unarmed. just turn on berserk and it will do about 100-150 damage. I cant say that this is the best way to build up unarmed but I have been fighting bark mite swarmlings on endor. They have around 3k ham and i get anywhere from 900-1500xp per bark mite. 4 of them spawn in a lair, they are 3900credit missions on the mission term.

I got to 3/3/3/3 brawler in just under 4 hours last night, its the 15k to 70k exp jump that kills us. lol. If you did nothing but fight on dantooine, you could get master brawler in like 6-8 hours.

Yep I am on the same pace. Actually the 15k-70k is not that tough I have 3 trees to go should take me maybe 90 minutes my problem was I did not buy the lower level weapons so I was using a long vibro axe hitting for like 15 pts waiting on the bleed to drop the mobs down took forever.

Full buffs, some Muon, and Savage Quenkers on Dantooine. Like 4500 HAM 3k xp 6 per lair. Fairly easy to kill I dont even bother using bleeds anymore now that I am 3/3/3/4 (lost tons of 2-h xp when i trained box 1 I hate that).

I concur. It took me aqbout 4 hours to get to 3-3-3-3, then 4 hours to get 3-3-3-4, 4 hours to get to 3-3-4-4, 4 hours to get to 3-4-4-4, and that is where I sit now with about 2 hours in and halfway through the 70k unarmed using Vibro Knucklers to hit for about 75 damage, jsut hitting a lot with the faster speed of the VKs. I made 2-2-2-2 jsut killing yard trash, then 3-3-3-3 taking Lesser Plains Bol missions from my player city's mission terminal on Dant so the missiosn were all within 500m. Going to 4-4-4-4 I switched to 3000 credit Huurton missions. This is for my new Holo accunt and his forst holostepping out of the starport said TKA. I am mastering all sub professions along the way do I don't have to come back to them later. Just trapping and harvesting my own kills and using my own camps when I need to regen HAM I am also up to 4-4-4-2 Scout.

If you want to get exp at first, get a set of knucklers. Now have them sliced for speed (cross fingers). Don't worry about the damage. The knucklers, even though they won't add too much damage at first, it will speed you up by about 60% for the first two boxes! Be carefil, however, specials and the knucklers don't play well together.....lol

Don't use specails for short battles, but in long battles it pays to stun.

Hope this helps.

Currently Im at 4/3/4/3. Where is the best place to grind away for Pole arm and one Handed? For Two handed I was on Yavin IV doing the mamien and Stinrail (?). I got about 1K xp each (700 or so for the stin one) but they agro you if you dont do it right and then you spend time Looking up at the sky. At least they dont seem to kill you so thats an okay place. I know about Keren star port and that was fine for the 15K xp portions but 70K would take a lot longer.

I would recommend heading to Lok and doin missions there, that 70k xp is pretty easy to get with one good run of 9k and higher missions and a few spare kilin of other creatures around there. Just make sure ur buffed, u have armor.

For unarmed all u do is just bezerk and keep bezerking till they die, dont bother with specials.

For fencer get body hit1 as quick as u can, than just spam that till they go down,

For two hand, well thats probably the easiest grind of all the brawler skills shoulding take long, just head hit with a curved sword.

For pikeman, well this is probably the most annoying tree to lvl because of all the misses, but i would get pikeman 2 asap so u can use that lance and than u should be fine either spamming leg hit or just goin bezerk.

remember to buy some melee powerups and make sure ur buffed and armored or ur gonna be visiting the clone center alot

Hi, I started a new toon recently, am going the brawler/TK route. I'm only 3/0/0/0 brawler right now, and have been doing narglatch cub missions near moenia. Only around 250xp each I think. Is there anything else I can hunt at this level that might be more beneficial? I'd try dantooine or lok, but I don't think I'd last very long at my current skill level. Thanks.

I mastered Brawler yesterday, and I have to say...

To all you fencers that don't have master brawler, stop!, pick up some fast VKs, a Heavy Axe anda Wood Staff and master Brawler, RIGHT NOW!

I went from being ok in combat to being deadly! I spent a couple hours at Fort Tusken, smashing the captains and warlords down with my 20m KD andmaking them crap their pants in fear with intimidate 2 and warcry 2.

I can almost solo a warlord, and I'm only 0-2-1-1 in fencer .

So, master brawler! The Unarmed and Polearm grind SUCKS (swords is actually fun), but the end results are worth it
