Ok I've been reading the threads on how to level unarmed and i've got a few bones to pick

1) THERE IS NO healthbleed or anything that can make stuff bleed with unarmed - I AM A REAL newbie - i have no other skill aside healing some of my wounds

2) I cant afford all those stuff you people tell me to buy - I am a newbie i spent all my money buying a vibro knuckler (VK) and getting it modded by a smuggler (Slice)

3)ubeese what?? where do i get these armor cause they sure as aint in the bazaar - and even if they were i doublt i can afford them with the money i'm making in my destroy missions

4) buffing? as i said i have no money to pay these doctors

5) hunting pikets on dantooine - they kill be before i even get close on killing them

6) hunting any other thing on dantooine - they kill me before i can kill any of them

so with all those things where can a REAL newbie like me go and level up unarmed without taking 3months to do it (thats the rate i'm going at killing these critters that give 100xp)

honestly, what i did was run around tatooine killing cu pas, worrts and jawas for five or so days to hit unarmed 4.

to get to TKA is a pain when you're as poor as i was (which you seem to be) but what I reccomend is find two people who are about your level, head to Lok, and kill spined snake recluses. if you can get a medic on your team it will go SO much faster.

at TKA novice, well, you'll be raking in 1000 credits per mission, so w/ a nice pair of sliced vibros at 13000, thats thirteen missions until you can majorly kick butt. as for armor, MAKE SURE to get it sliced too because your knucklers are all ready encumbering you enough. go for a chest plate, boots, MAYBE gloves NONE with encumberance any higher than 180 total.

my main advice is just keep at it, the game isnt going anywhere. if you really want to be a TKM you're not going to get there in a day, (unless you have buffs, knucklers, etc.) and it's unlikely you'll make it there in a week (unless you have a lot more time than i do)

Oh, and one final tiip, turn off the experience monitor bar.

Nevermind getting Ubese if you're new/poor. The point is: get ANY armor that is not vulnerable to kinetic damage. Usually you can find some Mabari armor on the Bazaar. Get at least the chest, legs and boots if you cannot afford more. A helmet will help, too, but few mobs you will be fighting in the beginning deal mind damage (and don't even think about PvPing against swordsmen or riflemen...). Mabari is vulnerable to energy, so avoid fighting humanods with ranged weapons in that armor.

Going into a fight without armor and without high-level resists/block/dodge/damage mitigation/younameit is NOT a good idea. As any armor will reduce damage by 50% in the locations it protects, given that it's not vulnerable to the damage type in question, armor is a MUST-HAVE. (The damage absorption figures are not entirely correct, as it depends on the armor piecing capabilities of the attacker, but for low-level mobs without armor-piecring attacks the statement holds.) The effectiveness numbers say how much of the remaining 50% of damage that gets absorbed by the armor. Low-end Mabari armor with 5% effectiveness agains kinetic will thus first reduce 100 points of incoming damage by 50%m then by 5%, for a total of 52 or 53 points -- for every 100 points you enemy deals out, you only take 47 or 48 points.

I got unarmed I-III on Tatooine by killing smaller mobs (towards the end I dared fight Cu Pa's). To get unarmed IV, I grouped with high level PC's on Dathomir and punched away on mobs that had aggro on somebody else as often and hard as I could. If something aggroed me, I cried for help

Oh, and at 100 xp per mob, it's only 210 mobs until unarmed 3. Not too hard. At that point, you should be able to take on tougher stuff, at least in a group (with a medic). Get 300-600 per mob and it's only another 155 or so until unarmed IV. I don't know what to do after that, since I haven't gone the TK route yet, but anither 280-ish mobs ath 450 xp per shouldnät be all that hard. And in a group, you could probably get around 1k xp or more per mob, taking on harder things. That should speed your progression up a lot. Grouping is the way to go.

If you are on Tatooine, go to Fort Tusken. At least on Flurry, there is always a friendly group there that you can join, with almost always one or more docs who can revive you in case you die. I'm leveling up the other parts of the Brawler tree there. Got from 4-1-1-1 to 4-3-3-3 in three hours yesterday, including dieing a couple of times and having to clone in Mos V, about 1 km away. With all the players around, you usually don't have to go anywhere else to train either. Very convenient.

For non-killing mobs, try finding a hunting party going to the Squill Caves. There's good and fast XP to be found there, too. But no money.

I reccommend getting some missions. I know, people don't tell you to get missions. Why? They don't spawn as many enemies as a regular lair. However, if you are on one of the starter planets, then you KNOW that the mobs will be your level, so you should have little to no trouble killing them.

Also, if you feel the need, I reccommend getting both novice scout and novice medic. For scout, I would work up the exploration tree first for the terrain negotiation. TN lets you run up hills faster, help ful when you are trying to stay in meele range with an enemy. Also, scout lets you craft traps that make enemies (only animals, no humanoids) more vulnerable to melee damage. You can also harvets resources from the dead mobs to be used for traps and in my next point.....

Novice medic was, for me, a real life saver. With the resources from the harvested mobs, you have half of the ingredients for stim packs (medicine). Just ask a crafter if they ahve a spare 100 inorganic resources or so. With your stims, you can heal yourself (to a degree) during combat. Later, after you get the money, buy stim b's froma medic. they are pricey, but a stack contains between 25-27 stims. Each stim B, if it is a good one, will heal you for about 400 damage. These are nice. Also, work your way up to first aid 2. This lets you stop your bleeding. Good for when you don't want to die. If you go TKA, keep this skill till you get good with meditate.

Hope this helps, and good luck!

Lesser plains bols on Dantooine. 250 XP per kill. Might be tricky without Medic skills, but it's possible.

Id say lesser plains bols will even be too hard for a novice brawler. 1K Health still takes 20 hits of 50 damage to take down, and you won't be lucky enough to have your first 20 hits all be to the health pool. In that time, the bol will have taken you down already.

The point of unarmed levelling advise mostly found here is to provide existing players with tips. New players dont get tips, they'll have to do the same we did when we started: grind low level stuff. Kill vynocks, kill vrelts, kill dwarf nunas, worrts, etc. XP won't be as fast as someone with a level 50 tank pet, but it's not meant to be

Frankly, without money you will be extremely inefficient at whatever you do. Money, just like in real life, "greases" every process you do to be faster and more efficient- so you only have to get good at one thing (making money) to be a lot more efficient at everything else.

As a "REAL newbie" I would suggest harvesting wind power. Wind generators of BER 5 or more is often cheaply foudn on the bazaar, if not you can ask any master artisan. With a less than 3k investment you can get started with a couple harvesters... with a good 10k you can run 10 at once.

Use the money you get from this to invest in bigger harvesters (with survey skills), or whatever else. Explore the ways to make money. It sucks that you have to WORK in a game just to get the maximal "enjoyment" but there it is.

Its called playing the game.

Pay your dues, run around killing rats, save your pennies, experiment with skills, make some friends, and learn the game.

The people who tell you to get your high kinetic ubese and run out to the adventure planets buffed to the gills are established players with a guild to support them and probably another account with all the credits they would need to do these things.

Obviously a truely new player will not have these advantages, and thats part of the fun. Sure someone could basically "powerlevel" but then you are just a jaded high level player with no real sense of the game.

Novice medic is definitely a must. Even in my final PvP build, I still have 2-0-0-0 in medic just for the heals. Even buffed, it can be hard at times to fight without medic.

If you are short on cash, get Novice Artisan and do Crafting missions between Moenia and Deja Peak.

1300 a pop, 2 missions. 5200 for the trip.

Do this everytime you need money and you'll never have worries again.

Best advice I've heard so far:

  1. turn off the experience monitor

  2. Run around and kill everything in sight (TKM on Infinity when asked, how did you get there????)

When I get the money I'll try the other hints too

I did mine just doing missions on Tat. Cu'pa's give decent xp and don't group agro. All you need is a set of VKs and novice medic. No armor needed. Shouldn't take more than a week of casual play.
