Thread: Simple idea for brawler kite-stopping move

We all know that brawlers get consistently kited in PVP versus people with ranged weapons. This is generally very annoying. My idea to fix this is to create a new brawler attack known as "Throw Stone"

It would be in2 levels, much like warcry, lunges, intimidate, and berserk. The move would deal very very low damage, and create a movement stun effect. Simply put, a novice brawler with Throwstone 1 would be able to hit his opponent with a ranged attack that slowed their movement to walk speed for 1 or 2 seconds. A master brawler would have a bit of an advange, instead hitting for 5-6 seconds of slowdown. This would, hopefully, provide the needed chance to get right inside lunge range in PVP.

Hey, it would be pretty funny...Master Swordsmen and Teras Kasi Masters throwing rocks at Bounty Hunters just to make them slow down for a few seconds...

One of the funniest things I ever saw in game was a friend (low level TK) who was being kited by a complete noob with a CDEF pistol. The pistol was doing almost no damage to him but he could never close the distance to hit the marksman. In addition to Brawler and TK, he also happened to have some Artisan skills so he got out his crafting tool and made himself a CDEF carbine WHILE he was chasing the guy. That was the same dayhe stopped using melee.

Combat in SWG is about as balanced as a one-legged ATST. That's why you see so many players running around with lignting cannons / flame throwers, composite armor and the biggest pets they can find. I've given them 4 months now and seen plenty of good suggestions for how to fixit. I know it could work because it did in Beta. As far as I can tell, they just ignore us now though. Maybe they'll get around tofixing the combat balanceafter they're finished with more important things like adding 'gardens'. I won't be here to see it though - I'm totally bored with low-mid level PVE (oh boy - another go to A and kill B mission!) and the balance issues prevent me from doing high level PVE & PVP unless I change professions to whatever the best (ranged) flavor is this month.

It's been fun at times but I'm not paying them $14 per monthto ignore me. Maybe if enough people quit they'll get off their butts and fix it. Nah - they prolly won't do anythinguntil another AAAtitle (WOW anyone?) comes out and takes whatever's left of their playerbase.

Ifa brawlertend to chase a ranged player on an open field, he deserves to die.

Ranged players are good for open field, big area battle; melee players are good for tight, small area battle.

Play around with your playin' style, run around buildings, use your tactics, and stop thinkin' some stupid ideas such as throwing rocks to give us melee a HUGE advantage.

It's pretty fair now imo, you don't chase a ranged player, and the ranged player doesn't dare to walk too close to you. Isn't this fair???!?

I have a much more simple and realistic idea for thekite fix......A marksman of any lvl should have to take HUGE penalties for runining and shooting that they don't even do it. they should in now way even be able to run away from you and shoot while looking behind them with a rifle and when they do it with a pistol they should have to risk tripping and have such a low chance to hit that it just isn't worth it. I think for a person who is trying to run away from you, to shoot they should have to put some distance between them selfs and the target, stop, turn around, take aim and then shoot. that's what you would have to do in reality anyway, unless you are running towards the target, in which case running and shooting would be fine, albeit with a degree of dificulty but still possable. It is almost insulting that a person can run away from you...look over their shoulder in the opposite direction they are runningand shoot you in the eye or head with a rifle all the while still haveing the same acuracy and chance to hit as they would if they were laying prone, AND they don't have the risk of tripping or even stumbleing. Bottom line: it should be so freaking hard to run and shoot that the only running a marksman does is to try and get away from you to either stay alive or to get some distance so they can take a shot at you. this whole kiteing nonsence is rediculous. I'm sure the marksamn will flame me fro this when they read it but inspite of that I still think that is a reasonable fix. that is the biggest reason pvp is broken in my opinion

Fear...Fear attracts the fearful. The strong, the weak, the innocent, the corrupt. Fear...Fear is my ally.....

Let's stop pointing fingers and just fix the problem.

I have a better idea yet, we could have straws and napkins!

Tka sees BH, he pull out his straw and napkin. Takes a bite out of napkin plays with it in his mouth to get plenty of saliva on it, then bringsthe straw to his mouth and blows the piece of saliva covered napkin on to the BH eyes.

This would cause a blind4 effect causing a KD due to the lack of visibility. Depending of the amount of saliva on it it would take anywhere from 10 secs to a minute to pull the piece of napkin out of the eye; therefor giving the TKA an incredible advantage at opening a can of woop @$$.

Not trying to flame anyone, just bored.

I personally preefer the idea of grapling moves or shuriken (throwing stars) to slow than opponents.

I thought you were suggesting some sort of "fart" attack.

If your running and looking behind you constantly with the terrain changing, your gonna stumble, trip or fall, make that happen.
