Greetings from Chilandra ~~ Death to all Imperials!

I've had my fill of reading about critisisms of the brawler profession for the day so here's something to encourage all those aspiring unarmed brawlers out there.

In just under 24 hours play time, I've achieved some notable things.

Expert Unarmed Brawler
-Very close to attaining Master level
Advanced Rifle Marksman
30,000+ credits banked
-Little to no trouble running destroy missions solo, even at difficulty 9 rating
50+ Rebel Faction points
-Also gained solo

If you're having trouble killing things as a brawler, please review your tactics before you start bashing the profession and making weightless claims. I will conceed that brawlers are still in need of balanceing, but so is every other profession out there. Berzerk did get nerfed, but it's still a very good ability. Brawlers take too much damage and rarely dodge, but these are all things that can be addressed.

For now, brawling is excellent fun and very profitable when done properly. PvP is still largely untested and you can expect to see many more changes in the future.

I think PvPers are the ones complaining the most. Rightfully so. Yes Brawler PvE is twice as good compared to Brawler PvP.

There are many valid complaints mixed in with the people who are just ranting. If you don't complain they won't fix it.

I play these games to play with other people, not to solo. Grouping, and taking out big cons, your going to go down faster then any other class as aggro in this game seems to be whoever is closer gets aggro. You're going to be taking more damage in a group, and everyone else is going to be doing more damage, which will leave you with pretty much NO exp as exp gained is based on your damage. Anyhow, If we don't bring up the critizism we have with this profession, no one is going to ever pay any attention to us, and think that we are fine. People brining up thier complaints is what gets things in motion towards positive change.

In the end, no one is "bashing" the profession, merely bringing to light the serious issues we have with it.

I think the main thing players should keep in mind is that to get the most out of melee you need to use it in combination with a range combat. I use traps some players use rifles, carbines and even pistols work well. You can just use melee but you are going to pay a price.

i know that most problem with unarmed combat, but if you know your way around it, you should be ok.

just be a medic and you are all set =)
i can kill any white with little down time. Just combine your skill together and you should be ok to get all the unarmed combat exp you wanted. I know, without the beserk nerf, i would be more effective in combat, but i found my way around it.

here's my use:

Medic, Scout, Artistan, and Brawer

unarmed brawer to fight, medic to heal myself, scout to get organic stuff, artistan to get inorganic stuff.

with all that i'm just fighting my way up, and also while i make stimpack, it also let me get exp for stimpackB too, which is a better heal... remember, most mob don't target your mind pool so you cna fight and heal at the same time...

I agree with you Ankuna Tenshi something that was probaly left out of his equation is he also trained Ranged Combat as well with his rifle skills, and correct me if I am wrong. taking a mob down to 1/4 life with the rifle and then finishing off with unarmed as a Trans with +10 unarmed damage. doesnt = a human doing strictly unarmed 100% maybe with some scouting with traps trained.

But I do agree with the first poster that This is a Skilled based game and nothing is preventing any of us Unarmed to pick up a rifle or carbine and using his tatics. But some of us dont want to fire a ranged weapon just to be an effective unarmed brawler.

Also wanted to add, PVP has been tested and in close range, TKA rule, but not anymore with all the hits with the nerph stick. close Ranged (indoor) pvp is why we got damage reduction in the first place.

I know how to play a Brawler and Master TKA, both of which I leveled three characters in beta to. I know the changes and how to survive. The points that many are making have nothing to do with whining. I have seen many very well reasoned posts to this matter. If you read entirely through them you will see what I mean. I don't have the time to repost all of them, but if you want to know, just look in this forum.

I really think PVP is for more advanced classes Like TKA or rifleman or commando. But for PvE a brawler can do just fine. I have to agree with Jediholocron. I hear alot of people saying how bad the brawler is but I just dont see it I take things out left and right. IF you want to PvP I recommend doing Unarmd with something else like rifle or pistol that way you can take them from close or far.

i don't think we all want to just become half dead killing machines "ah'll be bahck" kind of thing i just want the brawler to not be such a pansy in close quarters combat...i don't want to die in every tough fight...i want to be able to use my special abilities more then once a fight and have all the special abilities slightly functional

No! No! No! No! No!

A person with BOTH marksman and brawler skills should be better than someone with just one or the other because 1. They've spent more skill points, and 2. They're good at both ranged and close combat. A person who has X boxes in brawler should be just as effectivein closecombat as a person with X boxes in marksman is in ranged combat.

The problem (well, the biggest problem anyway) is that the marksman is currently just as effective as the brawler in close combat and much more effective in ranged combat.

Telling players they have to get marksman in order to be an effective brawler only shows howunbalanced(in a bad way) the brawlers really are.
