I have found several locked containers...... Does anyone know how to unlocked them

In there description it mentions to me that they can be sliced open, so I guess Smugglers can slice them. Fpr what Ive yet to see but im collecting em.

you need 2 things to be able to open these containers

1) slicing tool - this is artisan made

2) Novice smuggler - the novice smuggler allows slicing of chest. higher levels of the slicing allow slicing into terminals for higher rewardsm slicing armor and weapons and i think there was a fourth option in slicing but i can't remember it.

Smuggler can be found in the unarmed brawler skill tree.

Can anyone tell me where I can find Locked Containers to slice?I know I can buy them off the bazaar but there are never any for sale. I have tried killing thugs, swoopers and meatlumps on Corellia and I haven't been able to get any so far. I remember back in beta when there were camps of thugs, smugglers and thieves everywhere and you could just walk up and take a locked box from their camp, is there anywhere still like this?Or at least somewhere I can go hunt to get some to drop?

I forget what planet it was on but these guys called cosr or cosc drop them alot

Would rogue corsec's drop them? or just normal corsec?

i got ten of them so far all on corsec betting the trouble makers by outside of teh city by the coronot hotel

I started in Dearic, Talus and the Chunker pests right outside of town sometimes drop them. I have 2 right now but haven't found a smuggler yet to slice them open for me (I play on Tarquinas, btw).

You have to either become a smuggler or find one. I think its called slicer the skill. Anyway its a skil that only they can do.

Yes, Kaiwan, the skill is called slicing and it is part of the smuggler tree. In fact, these locked container are coveted and greatly needed as they are the only means to attain Slicing 1. If you have looted a locked container, please either put it up for sale on the bazaar or find a fledgling smugglerand see if he/she will attempt to open it for you. Often people will do it for the xp and return to you anything inside. If you do give it to a PC to try to slice, then you are in trust that the person is honest and will let you know it's contents if successful. Most people are honest, so I wouldn't worry about this too much as the smuggler is happy to get the xp anyway.

This is not the case. I've pulled everything from loaves of bread to weapons out of the locked containers.

Additionally, locked containers can drop off of every humanoid in the game, not just Corsec's.

Lastly, the best way to procure locked containers to slice is *not* hunting them yourself. It is standing in the middle of a populated city of your choice and shouting that you can do it. Not everyone aspires to our noble profession and most of them have locked containers in their bank. =)

How do you open them? i found 2 from some thugs out side of kaadaran in Naboo.. no keys or anything.. how can i "slice the lock" ?
