Thread: RECURSIVE MACRO NERF! THIS HITS US HARD!!!

I am a master brawler, and i for one dont feel like having to press warcry 2 then intim 2 twice then spam whatever special im using 300 times then having to canel it all to hit COB because im starting to get ganked...... so... i dont know about the rest of you but....
I work at a fing office all day typing, so when i get home after pressing f1 to f10 and perhaps with a shift in there MY SHOULDER STARTS TO HURT REALLY BAD!!! And i am not slacker, i work out constantly and am in very good shape- Very much not the MMO perceived fatty.
GET ON THE DEVELOPMENT BOARD AND MAKE A STINK!!!!
FIGHT THIS RIDICULES NERF! JUST ANOTHER COP OUT BY THE DEVS
(Destroying Macros that loop themselves such as COB macros and Loot macros)
Instead of FIXING something that isnt "JEDI" related,they decide to REMOVE it all TOGETHER
COB MACRO? GONE!!!
LOOT MACRO? GONE!!!
TARGET SELECTION? GONE!!!
THEY SHOULD BE WORKING ONREMOVING 3rd PARTY grinding progs that will DO ALLTHE CRAFTING FOR YOU!!!
(People have been known to use these to grind merchant profs in 2 days or the much despised container loot macroers. These all use third party programs. Also, ever had a looter you could not beat with your own in game loot macro or ~1 presses? Thats because they are using a third party program!)

Too much shouting, settle down and get a nice cool drink.
The reason the Devs has asked "How will this change affect your profession?" is because they're trying to find ways to still provide convenience to your gameplay.
Maybe a CoB macro that WILL loop, but as a new combat command. Or a loot looping command. But if you scream about this stuff in HERE and not reply to the Devs request for info in the Development section of the forums, you might not get heard.
Be productive and respond to the Devs with the information they're asking for, instead of shouting your head off in anger.
And relax, the game is NOT going to be that bad. It will just take a little more skill, perhaps.

The thing is, your Center of Being macro might (and I mean might - this isn't set in stone at all) get nerfed.
But, Entertainers' entire game has been nerfed by the game mechanics. An AFK buffbot provides the same buffing service they can, and all the same healing, too. Entertainers were nerfed from the get-go, and only now is buffbotting becoming a horrible plague to their game.
I understand having your macro nerfed is frustrating, I use a CoB macro too
But, consider the perpetually nerfed Entertainer who has seen their game become pointless and dull and marginalized - and this is for 3 professions, mind you, Dancers, Musicians, and Novice/Master Entertainers. This isn't just one profession, this is a gamestyle (Social), like RP and Combat and PvP. It's just one of the things that removing repeating macros might help.
Other things removal of looping macros might help:
Spammers
Tumblers
Continual Poisoning/Diseasing macros by CM's
AFK Looters
and many many more.

1. Here is how to work around CoB:
/CoB (or whatever the text code is)
/pause X (where X is the time CoB lasts)
/CoB
/pause X
/CoB
/pause X
/CoB
/pause X
etc. until you run out of macro room.
2. Bring 3rd party macroers to a CSR's attention and they can get banned.

I agree forget nerfing macros man they should stop nerfing regular players and work on jedi a bit

Is it really a nerf to CoB?
I am a master fencer.. so I rely on it alot, don't use a macro.. don't really spam much through the que.. but that is besides the point.. just sayin I use it frequently is all..
If CoB was intended to be running all the time .. why have a timer? Why make it so short?.. Thing is, it was intended like a special or beserk and has become abused and common place.
And bro.. switch to a trckball.. u can pick one up for 10 bucks.. it stops the carpal tunnel and will releive your shoulder due to not having movement at the elbow..

Yeah, really,having to manually click on your center of being icon when you initiate in combat is really game-breaking.

So you didnt think it was /mood bloodthirsty
But honestly this is very dumb. If they want to remove recursive macros im totally down with that. 2 jedi can sit in a room for hours without even having to watch the screen. But before they do they need to make COB have a - secondary stat hit thats permanent until you TURN cob off. Or give us /loot macros that dont turn off, or "just a thought" Random loot rights to party members! I know there is problems with serial numbers, but please dont tell me anybody with 1/2 of an imaginative mind cant figure out a way around that.
Btw FING = freaking and Damn is not a bad word

Do you even use CoB? There's a big difference between manual and macro in efficiency and ability to enjoy the game. Having to clear combat every 30 seconds and rehit CoB is not only tedious, but causes CoB to drop a bit, which leads you to being fuxx0red.

Actually merchant is insanely hard to level effectively with a macro. Tell me how you can macro people tocome into your store and pay your fine. You can't? Exactly.

Secondly, any crafting profession can be done easily w/ the in game macros. Anyone can do Master Architect in 30 minutes or so with all the resources, a good in game macro, and some time. You don't need to use a third party program for it.
Which leads to my next point - do you have proof they use third party programs? If you do - go ahead and submit them to the CSR's - problem solved. If not - show some respect and realise that you're just making dumb assumptions - you have no right to criticize people for breaking the ToS and stereotype the community with no proof, and at least, no reasons why.

Much despised? JEDI is much despised. To be honest I've never seen this as a major problem. If you're too slow - oh tough luck. Also realise this:
The person who does the most damage to a mob gains the right to the loot.
What I hear right now:
"Waaa Waaa Im not good enough to solo a NS Elder !! A CM came in and killed it and took my stuff !!11!! I should be able to take his loot when he earned it !! Waaa Waaa Imbalanced Waa waaa OMGWTBBQ N3RF!!1!11!!!ONE!"

Finally - name oneother profession - just one, which has been totally and utterly destroyed by hologrinding and the poor interaction in the community directly destroys oneof the main purposes of the profession. What am I talking about? Musicians and Entertainers.

This post made me laugh a lot, I'm sorry...your enjoyment of the game is dependent on not having to hit a hotkey occasionally? I nearly fell out of my chair. CoB is an enhancement, not a requirement. I use it all the time and have never had to put it in a macro...

You might find pressing the enter of being hotkey fun but in pvp it could mean the diffrence between life and death(in-game ofcourse). Plus its annoying to have to clear combat every few seconds to press it. Macros were allowed ot make certain tasks easier im sure they didnt make them with the intent of afkers and such.
