Ok I've been playing for about a week now. Mainly as a brawler but I have got Marksman and scout as sidelines. and Ive been thinking about getting some armour.
I've saved up some cash and can afford some of the stuff at the bazzar.
how do I tell whats goo armour or not ?
what type of armour should I be looking at ?
is encoumberment an issue that is really going to effect me ?
how much should I expect to pay for it ?

Right now I would suggest a set of Ubese armor. You can get that off an armorsmith or their vendor. If you have enough cash, that is.
Below that is Mabari armor and that could help out a bit but I'd suggest getting Ubese if you can afford it. It usually has good Kinetic defenses and that's what most critters dish out on average.

how do I tell whats goo armour or not ? If for pve the higher kentic resists the better. although faction missions energy resists can come in handy.
what type of armour should I be looking at ? Ubese is usually the best bang for the buck
is encoumberment an issue that is really going to effect me ? Probably, unless you are buffed all the time, oviously the lower the enc the better.
how much should I expect to pay for it ? Depends on the server, but for about 75k for a brand new set of ubese, on the bazaar you have to watch out for people selling low or 0 condition armor, that will either work for only a short time or not at all if it is at 0. So higher condition will be better.

Depends on the condition.
If it's new, that's a very good deal. I'd contact the guy who sold / made it and ask for the rest of the parts. Check the condition though, some people love to put their broken or nearly worn out armor on the bazaar to try to rip new players off.

I sometimes see 1/1 condition, or -####/16000 sometimes, so the armor won't work. The condition should be around 30k I believe if it is new.
And Ittov, I bought that 90% comp armor on your vendor... just need that one last piece
.
Have any pants above 86% now?

very Lucky Ive now got a decent set of armour the only thing I dont like about it is my Helemt has a 200+ encoumerment of my mind stats is this normal ?
also is there anyway I can get my unarmed damge up ? Ive got good weapons for the rest but unarmed the only thing I can find is Vibro knuckles which dont seem to do much coze I'm not at a high enough level ?

Vibro Knucklers are the only unarmed weapon. You should use them anyhow. If you have good comp armor and want to grind unarmed, I would go to Dantooine and do regular quenker missions or run around Fort Tusken berserking commoners and raiders. Quenkers are probably better though.

This is normal, because it is the exclusive thing on your head, so you are going to need mind buffs of some sort, dancer & musician buffs, or food buffs. All my comp helmets have 200+ encumb. The best way to get through unarmed is to use the VK's (even though you aren't certified for them) and use berserk. And VK's are the only unarmed weapons.

only weapon that sucks badly.....
ok so I got my knuckles speed sliced and they now have a speed of 1.5
and Icreated a squill hunting group and I managed to do around 20 Squill missions (big thanks to Shenlong who out classed all of us but stuck around anyway) and I grinded Unarmed 4 which Im very happy about. so whilst Im only hitting for about 100 at the moment Im getting 2-3 hits in for everyone I get hit normally.
I think the big flaw around Unarmed 3-4 is that there isnt really that many creatures that are hard but not deadly at that stage.
do specfic armours protect specfic stats ? ie Helmet protects mind?

Yes, helmets protect mind, chestplate, bracers, and shoulder pieces protect health, and the leggings and boots protect action. And you can do more than 100 damage with berserk, it helps a lot. Once you get to TKA, damage will rise, since you are cert with the VK.
