Thread: TOP BRAWLER ISSUES in need of Balancing
Djangoblades, because the market for this game is obviously targeted at only one field, you, and because you're in no ways concerned with the game adhering to any simple set of principles that could make it relatable to the person playing it, we're going to spend a few seconds to figure out how to make it more likable to it's most important player, you.
You're not serious by saying"because Tatooine is not real, NOTHING should be real," right? I'm going to pretend that that was just a poorly thought out reason to prove your point, if you had one. I mean, hell, NOTHING in StarWars was realistic, was it? You know, fake things like human beings, plants, shirts, water, etc. And if the game/story takes place on a make-believe planet, why don't we just make brawlers shoot lasers out of their eyes? And you know, I am beginning to belive that planets and space are also make-believe! God mode would be nice too, that would be fun for me...err...sorry, I forgot we were onlytalking about you here.
So where will it end, huh Djang? What if the Devs decide that your character punching does as much, if not more, damage as/than a bullet. Are you going to stop comlaining then? Of course not. What about when they nerf every Brawling column EXCEPT the one you're using. Will the griping stop? We'd be foolish to think it would. You're upset that you did not pick the "Uber Class" and your idea of a "fun engine that is balanced and fun to play in a GAME" is a game that puts everyone on an equal playing field so long as your playing field is more equal than everyone else's.
- BTW: Now that I have ridiculed you purposefully, I thought that I'd point out a flaw in your bogus argument stemming from your failing to actually read my post. I'm not concerned with realism in the "GAME," as you put it. If I were, then I would argue that one blaster shot should take someone out, but I never did say that, did I?Instead, I was making a point to dissuade people's frustrations withdoing lesser damageusing Brawling (unarmed or otherwise) by saying "at least it's realistic", and I proceeded to point out ways that it could be fixed. On that note...
- BTW#2: Thanks for being a part of the solution, Djangoblades. After your helpful post which listed several ways to fix this faulty class, the Devs have already stated that they have enough useful input from the community to better the brawler. You have single-handedly saved Brawling; you deserve a real hero's funeral, Djang. Now please don't talk anymore.
you got any personal problems man? be a truly "military trained" person you should seek personal help...
have fun...
Why all this compliaining about unarmed Brawlers moves costing too much? If you think that the moves cost too much then do something about it!!!! YES YOU CAN! just follow these simple rules and you can make your move costs decrease dramatically.
1. Go to your stat migration screen
2. Turn on thehelp option at the top right of thestat migration screen.
3. Read what it says about each stat.
4. Then make the necessary adjustments to migrate your stats so the moves you use most cost less Health, Action, or Mind.
5. Hit yourself on the forehead for being a noob.
Second line of business. Why do you brawlers that complain that you take too much damage? Do you honestly think that you are going to solo your entire career as a melee class. Thats irrational. Get a medic. Here's a little story as to why you should be healed, as if I actually need to explain this.
A friend (Novice TKA only 2 skills into novice) and myself (novice medic/master polearm) go out hunting together. He kills mobs that have 3k hp's sometimes 3 at a time and I heal him. I get great medic exp, and he gets fantastic Unarmed exp. So, where is the problem? There arent any special tactics involved other than just making sure that i am clear of aggro. That's it. He rakes in 2k+ per kill and over 150 combat exp per kill. How is this bad or underpowered?
I can only come to a few conclusions because of previous posts. Either you can't make friends with a medic or just dont know how to talk to people and explain the benefits of helping one another. Or maybe you are just greedy and don't want to share anything you have. Or possibly you are chronic complainers and think that you should be able to 'pwn' everything you come across with the greatest of ease and then CRY here when you don't. Well, boo-hoo and someone call the waaa-mbulance.
Get a medic....till then,

You know what Swain. I don't like the fact that youre taking this so personally. Some people have the wrong idea about what needs to change with the brawlers, ok I'll give you that, but the brawler class DOES have problems. I think youre right about a blaster and a fist shouldn't do the same amount of damage but it really ticks me off when I'm the one in the fray taking ALL the damage and getting less than half what my marksman groupmates get. And on top of that you we're taking the same amount of damage. Don't you think that your realistic view of the mechanics of the game would say "hmm here's a guy who is puts harsh physical demands on his body and then heres aguy who kneels down and pulls a trigger HEY lets give them the same health and make it so that they take the same damage." No that doesn't make sense to me. Don't touch the damage on a brawler put please make him last longer. A health bonus instead of 100 points above the marksman (which most creature dole out half that in a hit.) Anything but I'm tired of not getting the same xp as my marksman friends for doing the same amount of work. And having the extra work of healing and so on and so forth. What is the deal with "It's ok that I can do more damage because I have a gun but since were both people wehave totake the same amout of damage and have about the same amount of health" BLAH BLAH BLAH. Brawlers are broken, Marksman are not.

The point was that I was using too may action points by using berserk - so I eased off and just let my charater attack normaly. It has appeared to work not too badly. the skills help you out, enhancing your attack. It seems alot of your focus on berserk because of the extra damage and hits it gets you - perhaps you should try some of the other skills such as warcry & intimidate. While it may appear that these skill do nothing, they lower the defence and make the enemy somewhat easier to hit. Which in a way, makes it somewhat like beserk but not as powerful but yet not as draining to the pools.
Thanks for the advice. I've been following this thread and wholeheartedly agree that it is much harder and more deadly to earn xp and improve as a brawler. Frankly, though, i think all the complaining isn't going to get the profession fixed any time soon. I'd like to see more posts like Kiljoy's, which give good, solid tips for brawlers.
I'm still a Novice and am attempting to work up to Master Brawler. Rather than continue to point out problems, let's help each other out with information. What are tactics that have worked for you? Are there creatures that you have found to give good xp with lesser risk of being incapped or slain?
Every now and then, a friendly player will tell me of a good hunting spot, a creative tactic or a high value creature that isn't likely to slay me every time. These tidbits are worth their weight in gold (or at least credits). I hope that you experts and masters choose to share some of your hard-earned knowledge here, with your brother brawlers. I, for one, will really appreciate it.

I agree with issues, and all the smart mouths can kiss off.
Im tired of these Johnny come lately's with their "slick advice". If one more jerkwater hick tells me, "nothings wrong, you just have to play better", they can bite my shiney metal ass casue brawlers are WAY out of ballance.
For those of you who were in beta, I noticed that from Beta 3 to launch, in a span of about 3 days, brawlers changed dramatically.
Im at the same place right now than I was in Beta and I am capable of accomplishing WAY less than before.
Not to mention, I have totally flatlined in terms of progress. I either have to go after mobs that are underpwoered and Im getting no XP or Im dying WAY too often...
