Thread: Petition to get us some actual MELEE hybrid professions
Ok so so far we have the entertainment(melee as 'sport' idea)
and some pretty good ideas for some hybrids. I do love all the ideas you've posted
but heres mine. This just came to me about a minute ago
what if we take the unarmed line and the 1 hand line combine them. Then take maybe ranged support line from marksmen(I know I said I wanted these to be melee hybrids but bare with me)
Technically ranged support is not really using ranged weaponry so it would fit with the whole melee hybrid
ok then we move the stun baton to the new hybrid and give the fencers what they have been asking for some REAL1 hand swords
and we have a bodyguard thug type profession.OR something like that. Maybe IF they do ever decide to add more factions(I hope) it can fit in with a "criminal" faction. Maybe you can protect someone for some major crime lord. Or protect some high level Imperial if your in the Imp faction. maybe you would perfer to be a "enforcer" beat people up for money basically. Thats something I wouldn't mind seeing LOL
That would help give melee a niche in this game and maybe finally shut up the people that think melee should not even be in this game(I hope)
And of course the favorite and most popular idea. The assasin
This I would also like to see cause it would make things interesting getting missions and such to kill people for maybe Darth Vader or the Emperor or some high level person not even involved in the Imperial millitary
well let me know what you think of some of my ideas
and if you come up with one please feel free to post
oh heh forgot about that
yes but you dont really have to use a gun to get it
and since most of the ranged hybrids use unarmed as a requirement(and never use it again once they hit the hybrid) why can't we use one of the ranged lines for a change and not use it once we get our hybrid
fair trade off I think

Oh give it a rest, will you?
A whip is a tool used for controlling animals, this is what is designed for. The bull whip was close to 10ft in length as it was designed to be used from horseback. The whip was also used as punishment. receiving Lashes meant being whipped. The Cat o' nine tails was specifically designed to inflict pain but not kill a person. It was used as a punishment. Whips are good at inflicting pain on a target that is unable to respond in kind, whether because of intelligence (ie animals) or because they are captive in someway, what it doesn't do well is what a weapon needs to and that is KILL.
Actually you remind me of the Alyson Hannigan character from American Pie.
"And this one time, in Marvel comics..."
Indiana Jones would whip you in the ass if he read this post. I don't agree with you. A whip can be an extremely deadly weapon in combination with unarmed fighting. Here are some moves I thought of:
-Whip Choke: Grappling move that does retraint damage (I believe I read about restraint damage somewhere on these boards.
-Whip Sweep: Just another KD....whip wraps legs and wielder pulls oppents feet from under them...killer combo if Whip choke executed immediately afterward
Lets not forget that there are a lot of possibilities for different weapon types and lengths, all having their advantages and disadvantages....I don't think a whole whip profession should be made, but it would be a wicked tree in our hybrid profession.
and that is what I meant by my point on using up to dancing 4 on the entertainer line
The agility of a dancer would fit well with the unarmed line
don't ya think?
not sure what that hybrid would be called but it would be cool
I always thought that TKA should be a Hybrid Brawler profession.
First of all, TK's have a history in the Star Wars Universe. Whether they are canon or not, the fact remains is that LucasArts have acknowledged them to exist in Star Wars galaxies.
I believe that since they were an order that kept an eye on the Jedi and were senstive to disturbances in the force that they should be able to detect Jedi and other force sensitives within 500m of their current positions. Alot of people believe that ONLY BH's should be able to get Jedi missions. That's fine...let them have them. I believe that giving TK's such a power would not replace BH's but COMPLIMENT them. A new kind of relationship between TK's and BH's would be born.
A while back I sat for a couple hours writing up a proposal for a Teras Kasi Artist hybrid profession. Current TK would be replaced by a monk or some other unarmed fighting style and meditation would be removed....etc...etc. The proposal I had made can be found here:
http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=teras_kasi_artist&message.id=44044&highlight=#M44044
Now, this proposal would need a bit of tweaking, but there's a lot of good ideas that could be taken into consideration here. One major thing I would change would be to NOT allow TK have jedi hunting terminals but only allow them to sense Jedi within a certain range. Please tell me what you think. Remember, this needs work. Use it as a basis for new ideas of your own or as a template for your own proposal (give me credit) ![]()
a hybrid TKA would be cool
but heres my idea for it(I think others have said this before to me in game)
master entertainer(alright maybe justthe dancer line *sigh*)and master brawler
I don't know just my idea of things
