All Brawler Professions are really, really bad. It is a career for the die hards and stubborn players. The only reason why the devs don't see the problems with this profession is because of all the hybrid classes that must pick up some brawling skills to advance into it.

if they never fix anything else with the melee class then so be it. but it atleast needs to be addressed that a person can run away from you while at the same time look over thier shoulder and point their pistol or even worse their rifle one handed and still be able to shot you with mind shot or eye shot with insane accuracy and I don't care what the devs say the marksman class takes 0 penalties for doing this. I think that no matter what if you are running and shoting then a melee fighter should be able to give chace and have almost no chance of being shot and the only thing a shooter should be able to do is run and pop shots off here and there with chances to hit so bad that they run a risk of actually dropping thier gun or even better they should run the risk of falling down if they try to run and shoot and they should absolutly have no chance of being able to do this with a rifle. with a rifle they should only be able to shoot in the direction they are running peroid!. I think snipping should get some improvents and you should be able to snipe with pistols and rifles, albeit at differant ranges(you would have to be closer to do it with a pistol) but that way the person with a gun would have some chance but they would have to actually stop when they get far enough away turn, aim and shoot...that would be more resonable. at a distance a marksman should be deadly...they have a freaking gun. and they need to make the ability to shoot faster because all you have to do is pull a trigger but they should have to be sopped to shoot if they want to hit and we as melee players should be able to get within our range and wipe the floor with them. bottom line:


if they don't want to make any fixes to melee then fine, but in the interest of fairness they need to make it so you can shoot while running but with a pistol only and then there should be such terrible penalties that the marksman riskes dropping their weapon or tripping. they should have the ability to get far away enough that they have time to shoot but when they stop we need to be able to close the distance quickly and then if the marksman want's to run then they should only be able to do just that...run.


If the devs only make that ONE fix then things would be fair. And ofcourse, all you marksman who read this are going to flame me and come up with lame a$$ excusses why I'm full of it..and I don't blame you, If I had all the power I wouldn't want to give it up either, but....deep down, in places you don't like to think about, I'm right and you freaking know it!!!!! there is no justfyable reason why you should be able to do the things you guys can do...run and shot while pointing a rifle with one hand and still get head shots...give me a break

Umm No... I am master Brawler/ Tka 0,0,0,1. and have dueled Pistoleer Novice . and well I have Noticed that Unarmed Lunge 2 ( with Knockdown) stops the Kiters In their tracks, Warcry2 when it sticks, followed By Intimidate, and well One ranged fighter dieing, and helpless. It is true On average, Ranged will beat Brawler. that is Not the same as saying " At NO time" what do you call the 1 In 3 times I beat Pistoleers? 1 / 3 id VERY good, when you concider I am not supposed to defeat them at all he hee

I'm only a novice brawler with unarmed3 and before the patch i was hauling @ss on my way to getting unarmed4. With my trusty VKs i was doing a whopping 180+ points of damage worth for each hit w/o having to go berserk! I was taking down eopies left and right (well, some of the skills i had from being a master scout came in handy) for 800 xp each. Now, post-patch, i'm lucky if i can hit for 60 points of damage w/o berserk and maybe 140 w/ berserk. My power leveling to tka has come to a complete halt as i am now stuck w/ going after little nunas that don't give much of anything at all for xp!!!


So here's a few ideas...


1) Give some lower-level alternatives to VK, i think someone said something about brass knuckles earlier...


2) Scrap the whole VK cert thing all together


3) Just plain make unarmed attacks a little bit more effective or return berserk to it's original state,that would help alot!








I whole heartedly agree...make some kind of lower knuckler, like a brass knuckles or something as someone else said. I am so close to getting master that as soon as they do this...all of a sudden my hopes of gettingto Smuggler have pretty much been swamped. The VK was the only thing keeping me getting enough good exp to not get bored killing durnis and lesser critters.



And by god, make beserk double dmg again...i am getting owned with or without it now.
