Okay, here's a question. I've been reading these forums about getting up the tree of Brawler. It mentions get some sliced Vibro Knucklers. The problem is you can't use them until novice Teras Kasi Artist. Does the drugs & buffs help you use them are what?? Just asking........................

Check out MasterofCombat's most recent post. It's a few posts up from yours. It answers that question again. I'd hate to have tosee him post another one on that!

I just got Unarmed 4 yesterday, heres how i did it:
I already had a VK so i didnt need to worry about that
At first, i killed small things like Hermit Spiders and Fanned Rawls on Naboo
Then i had to move to harder stuff..but rather than do that i was lazy and just made my thug faction= -5000 and ploped down in front of some meatlumps and made a /loot macro so they respawn..i did about half of unarmed 3 and then i got bored...
then somebody gave me a tip that Rori had some hiden unarmed secret or something, it was a great place to find difficult (but not too difficult with buffs) NPCs
so head there and i see a group of named mobs (I.E. it dosent have the (A Bloodrazor Destroyer) tag for example they just had regular names but they were NPCs) Some appeared to be "An even match" with /con others were "A tough fight" and very few were "Looks like instant death"
i tried my luck on the white cons and they yeild about 210 XPat Unarmed 3 about the equivilent of Nargalatch Younglings. so i moved on to the yellow cons, with berserk i could take them down in a few well-placed hits and they yeilded about 500 XP finnaly the red cons were also easily taken down with an intimidate/berserk combo and they gave 1000XP i only had to kill a few before i had unarmed 3 and i continued to kill them right up untill i had Unarmed 4...now today im going to try my luck with Savage Quenkers while working twards TKA

save up some money, get some good comp or ubese armor, get a buff, get some brandy, and go out and do quenker - savage quenker lairs (4.8k - 6.8k) and use unarmed spin attack, they all die just as fast as if you were attacking one, and all of a sudden that 125k seems reaaaaaly small

Ok, I am Unarmed 4, going for Novice TK. I have about 8k credits to my name, but need it for my harvesters. I have some speed sliced VKs already (1.7 i think) and 75% ubese armor, and helmet. I can use Stim Bs, but it takes away from my mind very quickly. I cant kill anything solo (no pets or group) better than womp rats. My HAM is really low, and dont have money for buffs. I'm also a CH, and thats how i kill stuff is by using my crystal snake with 8k HAM.
I dont know what to do! I've been running imp missions a lot, and getting FP, 2k credits, and a little xp per mission.
125,000 exp is a long way to go. Including that i need to work on Medic too. (Not so much CH, because i'm thinking of dropping it after getting TKM)
I really need help! I get incapped 1/4 through a mission, and sometimes die. I have a lot of PCP and muon gold, but the side effects are horrendous. And i can only use 1 spice at a time. So if i use muon gold, i lose health and action mad fast. (i lose action fast anyway) And if i use PCP, my mind goes down the drain.
Also, what is a good level for my health, action, and mind and all the other stats to be at? I find myself migrating the stats every day.

good tips. And djinn has a good point.
Since I have alot of credits, armor and weapons have never been a prob for me. so that helped ALOT. I had some 80% kinetic reisist comp and some nice speedy vk's. When I was grinding the unarmed tree I was a master doc. Id buff myself, throw on my armor, group up with 2 of my guildies and we'd run Gurk missions on Lok. Got thru unarmed plus the xp needed for novice TK in about 6 hours. Another over looked creature on Lok that is GREAT for missions are the mynocks (great for lower level XP). Yes they disease you but they dont really hammer you too hard and you can kill them, great xp (about 3k+ per). Blasted thru 1 and 2-handed trees in one buff cycle. I wouldnt recomment mynocks to those that cannot heal their own disease and do not have good armor. (I was master TK when I did the 1 and 2 handed trees so I would just meditate the disease away and heal myself).
Im coming back around to finish up master brawler and have the polearm tree to go..

i just got unarmed 4 after about 3 days of on and off fighting and a few dune bantha missions, i have a vibro knuckler that is speed sliced and it is 1.6 attack speed, its condition is very low and i was going to buy a new one
my question is whether it is better to have a higher attack speed number or lower? as i am going for teras kasi and need the 125k unarmed combat to get the novice.
sorry but i'm a bit of a n00b, only been playing 2-3 weeks.

AndyJacko,
The question you ask is far from foolish. From the date on your post I suspect you may already have had it answered in-game but in case you haven't, and for the benefit of other new players who read this, the answer is as follows. What you want is speed-sliced VK until you reach the 4th box of TKA Power Techniques (which is the tree I recommend you complete first). At this point your speed is capped, so you switch to damage-sliced VK.
Best of luck as a TKA. I hope you enjoy the profession.

Hello all. Just started out Galaxies yesterday as a brawler. Have started working the skills development on polearms. Does anyone have any insight on this specific weapon category? It seems that there's a lot of posts here about unarmed; is that the preferrable way to go?
Sorry to sound so noobish here... but then again, I am.

Never walked the polearm path myself, Efreesky, but I hear it's a long and difficult grind. If you go all the way to Master Pikeman you'll want good DOT (Damage Over Time, such as poison or disease) pikes, so keep your eyes open for them. I've tried fencer, swords, and TK so far myself. Best observations I can give you are as follows:
FENCING -- Hard to hit and the best defences of any melee profession, but not great damage (the chief exceptions being DOT weapons and stun batons, IF your enemies don't happen to have appropriate defenses prepared such as poison and disease buffs, or stun-sliced armor and PSGs with stun resistance).
SWORDS -- Arguably one of the very best profs for PvE combat, and if you know what you're doing (and, preferably but not necessarily, have a good weapon and speed enhancements) pretty good for PvP too. Can do a lot of damage (superior in this repect to TKA since you have access to more than one damage type to get around MOB resists), but the defences aren't as good as the other melee profs in general.
TKA -- In my opinion the most all-around balanced melee profession for all the situations you'll find yourself in, and the Meditation line for self-healing and recovery from incapacitation is invaluable. Good attack, good defense, very tough, and even completely unarmed good to go. My personal favorite, but really that's neither here nor there.
Hope this brief overview helps, and that you are able to find a path you personally are happy with. Best of luck to you Efreesky.
