I've noticed some inconsistencies in the experience point requirements.

Pole-arms II requires 15650 experience points while the other tier 2 skills require 5000

All tier 3 skills require 15650 experience points except for pole-arms 3 which requires 15000

It seems silly that pole-arms 3 requires less than 2

Well, I do have a bit of a gripe, critisism, etc. vs. Unarmed with a Brawler. I'm at Pistols 4, RS 4, and decided to start working on unarmed 2 to try to raise it and 2-handed up for TK. I have no Elite Professions chosen so far, and a CL of 15. When I go out and fight things around CL 2-4, I don't do much damage at all to them, but I only get 1 point of exp from the kill. This wouldn't bother me if I were, say, Tier 3ish in an Elite Combat prof, but I have to admit that I'm rather irritated that CL doesn't adjust for the weapon in hand (or in my case, not in hand.) True, some secondary abilities might be able to help out a lot, but I haven't really seen the case with Marksman vs. Brawler.

Maybe I'm playing a Brawler wrong, but currently, it's my thoughts that I should be getting reasonable experience from lower-level critters if my Unarmed is only 1 vs. a Pistol skill of 4.

One Brawler issue that needs to be in the Top 5 is the Center of Being being broke.

I sometimes never get it to run. I can see it not coming on the first time you try EVERY time. But by the 3rd or 4th attempt it should run. It does not seem to. Sometimes if I get Incapacitated by a creature when I recover and re-heal, I cant get CoB back on. I tried 10-12 times in a row, no lie, and it does not kick on after an incap. That needs addressed.

Also, to agree with an earlier post. Being a CL 11, its not worth fighting CL2-3 guys anymore. Because you dont get squat for XP. Ok fine. But grinding from Tier 2 to 3 or Tier 3 to 4 skill boxes requires fighting CL5-7 enemies and with only Unarmed 2 guess what? Your toast without some heals and Center of Being running all the time. Which is broke and seems to not run as well on demand as needed.

So yeah. I identify the issues with CoB as being a Brawler Top 5 issue.

Dysan2k , I think you hit a very valid point here.

If I have a combat level of say 20 in pistols (making numbers up here) how in the world can that be taken into consideration when I "start" to learn unarmed?

I think its ok to concider the existing CL if say ... I have unarmed at CL 20, and all the abilites that go with it. Then I start 1-hand weps. Only because it seems to me as a new 1HW user using all the abilitys of a unarmed (attack, lunge, pardon this one but, warcry...) Then even though i am new with the wepon I have better attacks to start with. So the CL would be closer to correct.

But moving from even say .. Pistolier to Novice brawler, should not the player be considered a new prof and have a lower CL if he dose not have a ranged wepon in his hand? Or would this player still have all the defences of the Pistolier? making him intosomthing a low level MOB cant hit?

Maby if you go armorless to grind the brawler till you get to the new eleet?

OK, if that made sence, please explain it to me.

Being that the current xp system is directly correlated with your CL vs your opponents CL we now need to fight things closer to our level in order to gain xp. At the moment it is difficult for starter characters to fight things solo that are their level till they reach an elite profession. My suggestion is to group with someone around your CL or group with a big group of any CL higher than you that can dispose of creatures their own level quickly. That way you'll get full xp for just hitting a creature a couple of times. I think at CL 15 you should be getting around 1.2k per kill for killing blues and whites.
