assuming you can get it, get some 80% kinetic composite, doc buffs and kill everything in sight. Get some of that new brandy that buffs your mind for 40 minutes too. Got to unarmed 4 in a few hours, i'd imagine another 4 hours for TK novice.

He's said twice now that he is a genuine newbie and doesn't have access to any of the above.

I've done unarmed4 without bleeds, its a pain, but it is doable in a night.

Go to an emptyish newbie zone, mos eisley for instance, group with a pet (buy an mse droid on the bazaar for around 1000 credits) so you get the group exp bonus, then just run around slaughtering anything. You'll only get 80exp per mob, but you'll kill them so fast you can get 70k in a night. it is tedious tho.

Or, as one of the earlier posters said, get novice artisan and do crafting missions, mos eisley to anchorhead is 1300 per mission. spenda night doing that and you should be able to afford anights of doctor buffed hunting.

Or, forget unarmed for now, and work on getting doctor so you can make your own buff packs and buff yourself.

If you can find someone to power level you its quite easy actually. See if someone can give you sunburn, glucose, muon before combat. I did this alot... and rarely without buffs and got unarmed in a couple days. Key is to just find someone willing to help ya out. which i know can be a task at times, but lots of ppl are willing to do so. Goodluck!

Just wanted to add my 2 cents. I'm currently working on unarmed myself and am only at lvl 2. I however have the funds to buy anything needed. I have a pair of VKs, but do not use them. I double checked yesterday to see the damage difference with and without. Without the VKs I was doing around 140 damage per normal attack, with the VKs I was only doing 108. So I'm guessing the certification is important. Not sure if it was always like this or if it was added with the patch, but as of this moment I say the VKs are not that important when working unarmed.

You attack around twice as fast if you're wearing vibro knuckles, so losing 20-30 points of damage isn't an issue.

Like it was mentioned above, the game will use the attack speed of the weapon equiped vs. default unarmed speed. The VK equiped damage is veryclose to having the VK unequiped, yet the speed is much faster. It is important to use a quality set with a speed rating of no more than 2.2 or so. In addition, use a speed sliced set to further improve and if money is no object then use a 15% speed powerup as well. With this equation I have a set in the 1.5 range I believe.

Even then without the pistol bleed exploit it is slow slow. I am currently working up unarmed for the second time.
