too badafter next patch Fencers will pwn Swordsmen cause our agility will be like kenshins!
You get two demerits for being an anime fan and eight demerits for using "pwn".
I chooce to cal the Swordsman profession for Axeman, because they only have 1 sword they can use but they have 4-3 axe's
You have to decide what you like the best ? Speed ore Dmng?
And what you going to do the most? PvP or PvE??
Fencer are bether in PvP but Axeman are MUTCH bether in killing Animals
I have not tried Fencer butI absolutely love Swordsman.
3k+ bleeds and then direct to mind pool hits. Reasonable speed at Master. Could use some variety in attacks but the area attacks are not nearly as useless as they sound.
It's a personal choice for sure, but I have to say for me the big bleeds make all the difference.

Oh...this was a PVE biased response. In PVP I can't say I use bleeds anymore.
Depends if you actually wannaKILLSTUFFwith a swordor just dance around like a sissy while HOLDING a sword. ![]()
But seriously, Swordsman is gonna do alot more damage for ya, since we have the HAMMER and Fencer's best weapon is a primative stick. Odd how neither one of these proffesions really lives up to their name's... ![]()
I have a friend in my guild who just became a Master Swordsman. He's keeping that and adding fencer. He says that he uses swordsman for PvE and will use fencer for PvP because of the defense.
Don't know if that helps. I haven't wielded a two-handed weapon since I got the 3rd one-handed tree... ![]()
Swordsman is a fun and enjoyable profession.I agree that it probably does more damage than Fencer.
However, if you want want to do really good damage,I would advise you to look elsewhere, unlessyou can getskill attachments to substantially increase your two handed melee speed.Letme explain:
The best damageyou can do as a 'plain vanilla' Swordsman is about1280 DPS (corrected vs. Light armor). You can do thiswith a speed sliced powerhammer, or a damage sliced two handed curved sword, it works out pretty much the same either way.
A Teras Kasi Master, in contrast, can do 2719DPS vs. Light armor, and that's with a modest 175 damage vibro knuckler... and I knowthat knucklers can be had with at least 20% higher damage than that.
Some might say, aha! what about damage vs. medium or heavy armor?
Well, run the numbers for yourself, and you will discover that the TKMoutdamages theSwordsman, against any and all armor levels.
Does it strike you as a bit unbalanced that Swordsman is so inferior in damage dealing to TK, when they also have superior accuracy, higher toughness, higher melee and ranged defense, the ability to cause any status effect, self buff, cure disease and poison, and heal wounds? If not, it should, because it's disgustingly unbalanced! Anyway...
Things change considerably if you have skill attachments to increase melee speed.
I am lucky enough to have speed+93 (master brawler gives +5, plus another +13 in skill attachments) and I'm doing 3743DPS against Light armoredtargets. That is not a typo:with speed +93, I am doing Hit 3 with a damage sliced powerhammer at the 1.0 second speed limit.
As impressive as this sounds, it is only 37% moreDPS than a TKM can dish out.
And I'm not even doing quite that much damage due to misses, thanks to Swordsman's lower accuracy, not to mention the -29 range modifier on the powerhammer.
So, to summarize: Swordsman is a fun profession, but can't compete withThe Uber Melee Profession when it comes to doing wicked sick damage...unless yougetyour two handed melee speed to +90 and beyond.
