PH hit for 1000 on a guy with melee mitigation 3? You mean if he's KDed right? Bleeds may hit for that but they only tick per 20 seconds.

I give it to the swordsman if master brawler is involved and they know how to play the class.

Heh, a fencer won't stand a chance against a swordsman who knows what he is doing.

Swordsman gets the best bleeds, and they do mind damage. Fencers can try to dizzy/KD, but I can stand up from dizzy KD like 90% of the time.

And if I really want to play it safe, I can just bleed and run.

But I guess what it really all comes down to is player skill. A fencer will beat a swordsman if the fencer is a better player, and vice versa.

"Scatter hit 2 is a fencer best move againist secondary defense mods since it bypasses."

How does that work?

my two hand curved at 1.5 spd makes any spd of tka or fencer irrevelant, all my specials come off at 1 second. though my action disappears faster then anyone can hit me for in pvp nothing like taking yourself out, way to go soe with your brillant combat engine

This is being addressed in the next combat pass/patch.

I personally prefer TK over Swordsman for initial encounter (kd and dizzy) then switch to swordsman for dmg output once they're on the ground (A lot of ppl wear 80% kinetic now on my server). While fencer is good because of the defense mods, I personally like the dmg output I can get with swordsman better. In a duel, I think fencer would most likely have the advantage, but in a PvP battle of moderate to large size, I'd go with swordsman

if it's a fencer vs swordsman then fencer has a better chance of wining but if it's a fencer vs swordsman/m brawler then the swordsman would win. it all comes down to the player's skill and what profession theyuseto support swordsman or fencer

I have given a whirl to both fencer and sword, I myself opted to with swordsman simply for our awesome PvE abilities. In PvP we are lacking horribly though. Even so, if I meet a fencer, it tends to go either way. I myself normally use a Two handed curved sword, that is a 1.9 spd, 95-295 damage -8 accuracy, and is AP 2. So that right off the bat will no longer make my enemies armor a factor. I wear 70% kinetic ubese (although if you pull out the stun baton, its not gonna matter either). I also am a master brawler, so i start out all my duels with warcry2, and then stack both my mindbleeds. I then spam headhit3 about 5 times (i can attack about once a second). Once the warcry starts to tick down, I use intimidate2 then, CoB, and continue to spam my attack till one of us hits the floor.

More often than not, I win my duels, but that is because swordsman are almost as rare as fencers, and we do not duel eachother alot. They here all about how much we stink on the boards, but when I start piling on mind hits for up too 400 damage every second in pvp.... Well, they get a little panicky.

Still if you get a warcry off first, or somehow dizzy knockdown before I warcry, its an entirely different story.

I will hew them into pieces, I will dash them into dust;
Like Baal in his strength, on their rearward, lo! I fell,
And I killed them, none escaped me, and I slew, and slew, and slew."

center of being greatly enhances the chance of an evasaive move triggering (Dodge, Counterattack, Block)

Equilibium is an ability granted to Zabrak, that drains from HAM pools to add to other HAM pools until they are all at the same level (as i understand it).

Ok, I want to start this by saying that I'm not trying to start and flames or anything like that. I've mastered doctor and I wanted to take up a melee profession. I know that swordsman is very good for PvE, but how is it for PvP? Is there any real difference between the two profession?

I want to be good and useful in PvP, an still be good at PvE. So, can anyone who has more experience than me give me the general pros and cons of both?

Which is good at PvP?

Which is good at PvE?

ok im both now i find swordman better in PVP But you have to be speed Capped in Sword then you do the damage , but fencer is great for defences and not bad if you have good stun baton but i tend to use more sword in pvp and fall back on fencer for defence

Sorry forgot to mention Swordsman is the best for PVEas fencer doesnt do enough damage in PVE , but if you can id go both but you are doc so wont be able to but for a all round good template id go Swordman and try and pick up some speed attachments for it as it works very well in both PVE and PVP
