Thread: Warcry and Publish7
but but but
Fencing sucks butt already, and now they're going to take away one ofthe ONLY reasons I took a WHOLE NEW SKILL TREE in an attempt to make Fencer halfway playable?!
*cries uncontrollably*
This sucks.
Lunge2 is nice, but without warcry or dizzy anything knocked down will be up more than likely before you can hit it.
Intimidate is helpful to reduce the hugely overpowered specials NPC bringing them inot the slighly overpowered range.
Beserks 2 is one of the worst skills in the game
Warcry 2 is changed from a great move that works very well to a useless move that will do nothing.
Master Brawler is effectively a waste of skill points now. The only option i guess is we all go doctor now.
I was just thinking that! Having master brawler will be pointless, in my eyes. The only reason I keep master is to warcry2. It saves my hairy butt everytime I go into battle since I have no armor. If this goes away, I'm dropping master brawler and picking up medic
I guess the devs are trying to get rid of our effectiveness in battle. Looks like I'll need to master CH to have any kind of defense abilities!

This so sux! It has always been both a single target lock down and a method of "crowd control". It will now be useless. Thx TH for the heads up.
So basically now I can throw a Warcry BEFORE I initiate combat and have done any damage. I've always been able to do this anyway, but now I will be FORCED to battle this way. Warcry has a cone effect now, so it can be used as crowd control and is presently. So what TH is saying here is you brawlers have been able to delay targets too long, so you can no longer use this tactic in battle. Does my Warcry break once I do damage? It seems so from this post. Warcry will become the mask scent for NPC's. You'll have 10-20 seconds to run by those Desert Demons. Hurry! ![]()
I haven't seen many Nerf criers complaining about Warcry (probably because Master Brawlers are so rare), so this seems like someone's pet project and personal bias.

Let me just say this. I can see why the Devs want to nerf Warcry...to stop people from soloing high level things. Well half of the fun in this game is being able to walk up to a big bad Nightsister Elder and try to take it on. Using Warcry2 is not a 100% garuntee that you will kill the sister. There are a bunch of risks in taking down something that hit this hard. Warcry2 eats away your HAM, it make not stick the 1st, 2nd or 3rd times, and even if you time it right, stacking Warcry2 after another one wears off is risky.
I was with a group of 10 people trying to take on an elder. We sent in pets, they died, we through down bleeds, that did nothing. The only thing that let us finally kill the witch was Warcry2. Yeah we still got attacked inbetween warcry's and most got incaped because of that.
But theres something really great and fun about kill a high level thing. Nerfing warcry will make it such that you can never kill a high level NPC unless you have a group of 20 thats all buffed and still have a dedicated CM with you healing the group. Trying to coordinate this is hard. We are all on different time zones and we all have seperate lives and ajendas.
Last night I went out by myself to run missions cause my buddies were grinding away. I soloed a huurton stalker lair and was so happy that I could finally do this with warcry. Without warcry, my pet and myself would have been puppy chow. Nerfing warcry will only lessen my enjoyment of the brawler profession and the game itself. I spent a lot of time to get where I am. It is very frustrating and disconcerting to have the game mechanisms changed on you after 8 months of playing and getting used to a game. I've put up with it for many patches and 1000's of other players. But its getting hard to deal with it, esp when you know big changes are just around the corner...
Still haven't gotten an official response yet, but me, Gunman21, and StGabe are hashing over all the implications (and hoping we have got the total meaning down). We'll try to convince them that this is pretty harsh, especially against high level content (an elder, or maybe Axkva,one-hitted my entire buffed group once w/ an AoE attack - preventing that is good), but I can't guarantee anything.
So far, the main use that we've thought of for this is to help you not need to tank when you get swarmed. Better at lower levels seems to be what it's aimed at.
Again, as soon as I know anything, I'll let you all know.
Thanks a lot! I appreciate your support as well as the other melee correspondents!
