Thread: Everything You Ever Wanted to Know about Unarmed Experience

while this is all well and good, it doesn't answer my big question about unarmed brawler: if im going to be a smuggler, and i want to get there asap, what do i do as a brawler?
I fail to see how it doesn't tell you that. It is a guide to earning Unarmed Experience in the Brawler trees. If it works for someone who's going for TKA Master, it'll work for you too. Its the same 4 boxes, in the same tree. The method for the wealthy is the fastest, but if you're not financially secure in game yet, you'll have to tough it out like everyone else. No Pistol can help you get unarmed (not anymore thankfully), you just have to go out and beat on things.
not to be stupid here, but alot of the tips given are for players with armor. does anyone have some good tips getting unarmed xp for wookiees? im not a newbie i have money but just never got to into brawler before now.
and it seems real slow going.
Well, I'm not a wookie, and haven't played as one very much, but I'd venture to say that the majority of these tips are stillapplicable, especially Doctor buffs.
One thing you might want to invest in is the Imperial Prototype PSG schematic you get for completing one of the quests on the Dantooine Imperial Outpost. This has 3000 or so condition, and will last qutie a while. It also only uses stock parts, so your local Armorsmith can make a factory run or 3 with it.
Being more careful, and making sure you use Intimidate along with any other status effect you can inflict will also help keep you alive.
I had a problem with the macro listed above. The problem i had is the creatures i attacked, ie wort's, rills etc... would just wander around while I was in combat. So I made a macro that used a ranged weapon to get them to attack me. I used a CDEF carbine i looted off a valarian. this is how my macro looks.

I put my CDEF carbine in F4, and my VK in F5 and the actual macro in F2. The way this macro works is similar to the other one at the top of this thread with a little tweak. The first thing the macro does is loot the selected corpse (the last thing you killed) then equips the carbine, targest closest, attacks 1 time with the carbine, pauses long enough to equip the VK and 20 secs to kill the enemy. The only catch is you have to have your target in your visible range to attack it. I hope this helps someone out there who had the same plight I had.
for anyone, get the money to buy a speed vk and an ubese jacket. These really aren't that hard to come by, and running 1k missions on a starting planet should get you the needed cash in one day. With these go to Mos Espa on Tatooine and simply make laps around the city berserking on the yard trash. Missions included this should only take a couple of days to get unarmed 4. By now, you're vk and jacket will be pretty well worn out, so if you plan on pursuing tk, get new ones, and continue till you get novice. This works well for all of brawler and marksman too if you're simply after master brawler, commando or smuggler.
You will make almost no money doin this, but it does seem to be the fastest way to level up. With missions there's travel time, even on a swoop. Also, you have healing down time (mind included) if you attack larger mobs. Taking large mobs on that will take several minutes to kill may yeild the same, or more xp/minute as grinding on small creatures, but with little stuff, you won't die, have to wait while healing, have to travel, or wear your equipment out as fast.

I was a Wookie TKM and am now a Master Brawler going for Fencer.I wouldn't worry about armour it justhelps you die a bit less. Get novice medic and acrate of stim b's and learn to use them (spamming attacks delays their use) and a wookiee should be fine. Getting a decentlevel 10 petto tank for you will help out a bit as well. I did it when the server was new and buffs weren't easily available and found that joining a group with a medic or two got me through it pretty quickly. With buffsand brandy it should be no problem.
My tips which apply to all species:
More recently I have found it useful to get buffed and group with a number of artisans (who don't mind wielding a weapon while they work)or other combat classes fighthing solo that are in my player city. This way I can generate very high difficulty missions with lots of spawns but solo them instead for xp - if you spawn the lairs carefully you should not get overwhelmed. The Warcry nerf will impact onthis but it should still work. I am a Talus man so Torturs or Mutated Kahmurra are themissions to aim for but my adviceis to hunt big herbivores in general and every planet has an equivalent - Bolle Bol, Ronto etc... Herbivores tend to be less aggressive andseldom have poison/DoT attacks and don't deal out as many wounds. If you can find some with low kinetic resists then all the better.
Alternatively, if you are not confident on solo huntingtry to group with players of similar ability andget the highest missions possible in the same direction. If you can get a group of 2-4 unarmed novice brawlers (TKA Novices will do far more damage) and a medic or two (novices) then you can usually hunt for longer and xp is evenly shared out. As you are all levelling at the same pace you can learn from each other and will possibly be able to stick together as a group for some time. If you hunt with elite classes they will hoard most of the xp as they are dealing out far more damage - you will learn to judge whether you are in a good group or not after a few hunts in different groups and solo. Always make your decision on xp/hour rather than xp/kill though for a good guide.
It is worthwile establishing whether you are hunting for money, enjoyment,xp, or a combination of theseat the start so that you can be more focused especially when grinding. Each hutning style requires a slightly different approach for me.
yoyoyo i have a question depending on two professions...
