Night before pub 10 went live I was at a forward HQ of my faction. I stepped outside and fired some flurryshot2 off. After that it was noticed that the turrets of the base were attacking the NPC rebels of the base, and they were fighting back attacking the turrets. So yes, the bug is back.

it seems that the bug occurs when a aoe attacks fails to kill a target before the starts to run away. it looks like you are attacking the creature which is a few meters away and you are doing thousand of damage, but its not getting killed, that ham bars are no dropping. next the creatures warps 150 meters away.


however if you aoe attack with strafe for example and get the creature down to a little health and the strafe hits with health and kills it before it runs away, there is no bug.






I hunt NS all day, and this happens alot to me. What I figured out was, I sometimes accidentaly switch to a creature/npc that is out of range. When this happens I cant to damage to the ones in range until I get into range of the first creature/npc and kill it. After that everything is attackable again.

yes that works, and its not very fun when you have to do that with a mob of aggros on you.

this bug has been happening alot on lairs for me... faction and creature... i'll target the lair or base and as soon as i get agro'd it switches the target to a mob... very annoying... would be deadly, if i didn't have FD...


also i get stuck in the AoE animation even if combat que is cleared...



I can just see a "Wait for the Combat Revamp" and "Wait for the Smuggler Revamp" quote all rolled into one.

i've noticed sometimes, if i move while strafeshot2 macroing an enraged rancor lair, damage is completely negated but the game recognizes me as using all the specials in the combat queue, and even with the clearCombatQueue command, i STILL shoot the shots my macro inputted into the system.


i can only do damage after i:

1) get outta the range of the lair

2) kill the ER's agro'd on me

3) go through a peace sequence

4) get within range of the lair and shoot again

even though im a swordsman, i have seen this lately in the Geonosian Cave. it is usually bugged alot and everytime i would use my areahit3 attack, i would sometimes see geonosians who are very very close to me not take damage. but usually if i move out of the way it usually triggers my area hits to register. so i beleive its not only with rifleman AOE but all AOE attacks.

tonight i took a closer look at this... here is what i found...


when attacking a lair, just to blow it up for the cash, if one of the mobs died while attacking the combat que dumps, and i immediatly start attaking one of the mob thats hitting me... even if i still have the lair targeted and am spamming specials at it... i still show the animation of that attack but do no damage to anything...


the way to clear this to /dump, /peace, then click at nothing to find out what i'm attacking... then HS3 till its about dead... keep a couple HS's qued up then target the lair and start spamming adv strafe... i'll start hitting the lair again then...


this also happened when i tried to switch the mob i was trying to attack... i'd get stuck having to kill the one that it defaulted to befor i could attack the one i wanted too... very annoying when one thing is about dead, and you're stuck attacking something that just spawned...


all of this was done on dath for about 3 hrs... tried rancors, baz nitches, and defilers... also used every AoE that i have... it didn't matter which shot i was useing, it happened with all of them...


this is a huge problem, the only time i got into trouble was with the defliers, my mind got hit with a 350 tick disease, i had 3 defiles on me (2 near dead the other full HAM)... i got stuck attacking the full HAM one before i could kill the 2 near dead ones... 3 more had spwaned when i killed the full HAM one, i just cut my loses and hopped on my bike... lost the agro and meditated the disease off... i took 1500 points of mind disease in very little time... i'm also happy i didn't get hit on the other 2 HAM bars while i got stuck not being able to change targets... otherwise i'd be cloning with 1/1/1 HAM (done it before not fun)...

how come they cant just set it to make the AOE attacks hit everything regardless of wheteher its in combat or not. seems like a simple thing to me.


there shouldnt be any part of the attack/hit/miss/damage code taht has anything to do with whether the target is fighting or not in regards to taking damage. it should just be a straight up hit or miss on all AOE attacks. the disadvantage of AOE attcks should be taht they make EVERYTHING in range come after u soon as they are hit


this is becoming a critical issue and needs to NOT be part of the combat revamp. it needs to be fixed now.

its a bug that it only hits the current active targets, and not the surrounding ones. Acknowledged by devs, and its scheduled right now to come in with the CB





they need to bump it up to hotfix status because as of patch10 its a game breaker for any class taht likes to use AOE in PVE. this isnt something that can wait for months anymore

I've reported the AoE bug along with the combat que lock up and the FS speed issue. If I hear anything back I'll let 'ya know.

I've found this to work when this happens:


1. clear combat queue.

2. peace.

3. initiate attack command on another creature. Not a special, just plain attack.


takes a few seconds but you'll be targetting the other creature if you do it that way.
