Thread: Unbiased Comparison of Melee Professions.
Well, this will be updated. Its not done yet, but if you have problems either post or mail me so I can edit it. I'm not a professional, but I'm just listing personal experience and hard facts.

personaly i hand TKM there asses, they dont do much dmg to 80% composite coupled with melee mitigation 3
I use uber composite, always Doc/Entertainer buffed and ammaster brawler...i can kill them in 2-3 hits with my 626 max dmg power hammer(no powerup), they dont really pose a problem cause i just land warcry and intimidate and they cant do squat, and if they try and run i just switch to carbine and use suppression fire 2 and run up to them and bash them

Are you sure those Skill Mods are up to date??
Anyways, I don't think you can compare skill mods between them because while fighting you need to take count of the Weapon's stats, so of course Swordsman have less speed than other melee fighters, but their weapon are 400+ in max damages.
So I won't say your comparaison is unabiased, it's interesting though. But to simplify my thought I'd say that there is some more variables to take in count while comparing the professions. ![]()

tka's are the best for pvp for a few reasons.
first, they can attack any HAM bar. they get body, leg, and headhit in the precision striking tree. they also have combo attacks that will attack all 3 bars at the same time, but that's not so great.
second, the accuracy is a bonus. sure, swordsman can have a power hammer with 700+ damage, but if they don't hit with it, then what good is it?. add intimidate and blind to someone like that, and you're golden.
third, the dizzy/kd. yeah, its very powerful. sure, swordsman have a dizzy with twohandhit3, but the dizzy state rarely hits. pikeman have a dizzy with areaattack3, but that as well rarely hits. combine that with the fact that polearmhit3 does a posture change, and if you spam it, your target will pop back up even if they're dizzy, its useless. fencers also geta dizzy, and can use onehandlunge1 to posturechange their target and make them fall. tka is the only class that has both a kd and a dizzy combined in one move.
fourth, unarmed toughness is like wearing armor. melee damage is severely decreased when hitting tka masters because of this.
fifth, at master, your unamred damage is at 250, which is the cap for any skill. even if you have a skill enhancing attachment for unarmed damage, at master, it will do nothing. but, with vibro knuckles equipped, that only adds to the damage. so, my vk's with 198 max damage will make my total max damage at 448. i've seen vk's with max damage over 250 as well. that's over 500 for max damage. that's around power hammer stats right there.
sixth, the AP on the vibroknuckles work. meaning, if you're unarmed, and you get hit with vk's, you take more damage. if you are wearing armor, and are hit by vk's, you block no damage unless you have kinetic resists. the powerhammer's AP is currently not working, so you get no bonus for having a medium AP weapon.
seventh, the speed for tka's are unmatches. so, even if someone is wearing uber 80% composite armor, your splitting rawl every second will whittle away at your target at an alarming rate. combine that with him probably being knocked down, you will do an additional 50% damage to them.
eighth, they have powerboost, force of will, and wound healing abilities. powerboost is a mini buff any time you want it. giving you a buff to health, action and mind of 50% of your base mind bar. force of will might get you up from incappacitation. so if you lose a fight in pvp, you might be able to get back up and keep going. and, at meditation 4, you can heal your own wounds by meditating them away.
in conclusion, i'm not saying tka's are nerfed. i am one after all. the other professions do need a fixing though. each profession needs something that sets them apart from the other class. fencer is its superior defense, but after defensive stacking is taken away, it will be less significant. swordsman was the insane bleeds that they could place on an unhealable HAM bar (except by combat medics) and that was taken away this current publish. pikeman is being able to shock someone incredulously by the mere fact that they're being attacked by a pikeman
. ok, not really. pikeman are crowd control. although, this is more for pve than pvp, as the accuracy is so low, you won't hit with 1/4 of your attacks.

I am tka and my friend is pikeman... tka fits my style and I would say that I have several advantages over him but he doesn't seemed too gimped by any means (other than needing to be buffed more than me due to his HAM costs of specials). Think of these:
1. Pikemen can only get better and not nerfed...they have that going for them.
2. There are not very many of them (until the day, maybe, where they get love and are the flavour of the month...but you would have a head start on them) so you are unique.
3. They look and sound DAMN cool! Coolest sound in gameare their vibro weapons when attacking and nothing looks cooler than a pikemen with a weapon on a mount ![]()
If there is one thing that needs to be addressed right away and would be a quick fix it would be to increase their accuracy. They miss too damn much and all their main weapons have negative mods to attack at all ranges. My tka rairly misses and my vk is +15 at all melee ranges on top of her higher attack mods. Devs should close the gap on that a bit.
