I just need some feed back to see the worth of armor for a Trandoshan Brawler. I am almost at Spcialized Fencer and recently dumped my chitin stuff for clothes.

I have more action and regen faster but take more dmg. Curious if anyone has any good suggestions as to the best gear to where?

none, just regular clothes.

Any armor I ever find takes away too much health to wear and not really sure does what.

None. I end up with more HAM after a fight without armor. And this is with good armor with high resists for what I'm dealing with.

I suspect that either your natural regen rate that you give up due to stat loss is higher than the protection the armor gives...

The damage avoided messages in combat spam are not accurate.

Try it yourself. Get armored up and take a destroy mission so you can fight the same mobs over and over. Fight 3 one-on-one fights with armor, then do it again without it.

I always end up with at *least* 20% more total HAM without the armor.

I actually wear almost a full set of Ubese armor. I just need the helmet which I doubt I'll ever get. Waiting until I can get a set of Composite, but I don't happen to have 100K laying around.

I find that I take MUCH less damage with armor on. Roughly half the damage I took with my TKA wookiee. Since the only specials I use are Berzerk and Intimidate, I rarely need to worry about my HAM unless I'm fighting a red solo. The only problem is when things fail...and we all know how often they can fail. I've had Intimidate fail about 6 times and berzerk fail 4 times in 1 fight. Only once have I been incapped because of failures, though.

I can generally do just fine without armor, as well if Intimidate works, but since I'm not concentrating on melee (Trying to reach Commando and/or Smuggler) then it's a good idea for me to keep armor on. Just wish it didn't cost so much! Then again...so do my weapons...bleh.

I wear Chitin. I find it screws my action, but I can solo tougher mobs. I'm waiting for them to drop neutronium steel on Scylla so's I can craft Ubese & give that a shot. Currently I'm almost teras kasi novice and half-way to master brawler. I can't seem to find a cleaver anywhere in the game.

I also find that the 2h-sword is the hardest to win with; because when you miss, and youmiss more often, you have to wait a looooong time to hit again.

Oh and I'm Trandoshan too btw. If I make another character though, I'll start him as a marksman. The stats for marksman are ironicaly better balanced for Brawler than the brawler's.

ubese gloves, ubese bracers, ubese boots

Provides moderate protection, yet doesn't effect HAM nearly as much as wearing a full suit. Biggest drawback is that it wears out much more quickly than if you had a full suit.

I started looking for socketed clothes for right now and filling them in with skill ups slots.

I am gonna try that route out until I see some better armor. The stat depeletion in my action bar is painful with the armor on, and with the regen and good health of the Trandoshan, I think I would rather take some more hits then take the hits to my action pool.

Thank you for the inputs.

only armor i wear is Chitin helm, other than that just cloths. i am finding armor messes up our HAM way too much.

class: brawler

level: 4 tier all the way across, novice TK

race: trandoshan

I wear the chitin helm and a sith robe most of the time. I have the whole set and occasionally will wear the chest and leg pieces.

THis is a great question. As a Zabrack brawler (lvl 2 unarmed only), I bought a suit of Mibari, and that seems to help some, but I haven't tested it thouroughly. Am I getting any real benefit? Hmm...

I tried a few different armour types, the latest being Ubese. In the endI just didn't see enough benefit from wearing armour to justify it, soI am plain clothes.
