Thread: Newbie Brawler, VK at Novice?

Starting a new character in the Brawler tree, and while trying to learn it, I see quite often people talk about getting VKnuckles. Guess my question is, does VK's help you attack faster even if you're not cert for them yet?
As I said, I'm a newbie to brawler, and trying to understand the profession, not just run out and start throwing punches.

yes , u will get the speed but not the damage . so get a speed sliced vk

Ahhh, thank you for the quick answer, that helps a lot. Guess I have some shopping to do once the servers are back up.

VK is the best thing to go trying to go up in Unarmed, speed slice with that will be well worth it.

Speed sliced vk with berserk on and i can do unarmed 1 to novice tkm in well under a buff session.

When you get up to Power Techniques 2 (roughly) in TKA, though, make sure you get a decent Damage Sliced VK - it'll be more useful.

What i did as a newb brawler was get a good low ham high speed slice vk and use berserk.

Hey Garron, whats the best stuff to fight to level up from Unarmed1-TK Novice. Right now i got Master Doc and i want to get TKM. I just picked up Novice Brawler and want to level up as quick as possible. If what you say is true, about leveling up that fast, then that would be great. I just would like to know what should i be fighting, thanks.

I bought some VKs. It wont let me use them. I thought you needed TKA Novice to have VK certification? Are there certain types of VK that you dont need tobe certified to use? I have UA 3, and am almost to 4. Also, can someone explain more about Buffs? Where do you get them, how much do they cost? And why do you need Mind Buff? The only thing that drains my mind is medpacks. I dont have my stats in front of me, but I'm a Zabrak, and my mind stats are basically maxed (I'm doing medic on the side also.)
I'm currently bare-knuckling my way through this, and my damage is TERRIBLE. Any advice would be great!

Well it will say that you are not able to use it and that your damage will be reduced.
And well that is in a way true, You will do less damage than you would if certified, but since the VK:s are light armour piercing you actualy do around the same amount of damage only alot faster than without VK:s

Yep, I have grinded it like 10 times, and every time this was the best way to do it. The VK's speed up your attacks as said before. I made a macro that does /beserk and repeats itself.
