Thread: A new Perma-death Idea (BH vs. Jedi)
My new idea for BHs vs. Jedi (Perma-death)
/rofl
permadeath hahahahah, seriously, stop it
no constructive criticism huh. Just dont like perma death huh?
Guess none of u played Diablo II and new the feeling of playing a hard-core character that was a high level. And how fun it was to play knowing u had the possibility of losing him...and how awesome it was for people to see you with a hardcore character?
It would kind of be like that, with adornments on ur character of all the players that you have killed. Certainly would add some content and fun to the game,
Permadeath will never return because in the current system my Jedi is my original character not a 2nd character slot.
When permadeath was in-game it was not as bad because your Jedi was your Alt, not your original toon.
No way in hell would the Dev's get away with perma-killing a toon that someone has had since launch. If we were still using our 2nd slot as our Jedi then maybe it could return but I know I've been playing my toon since day 3. If they ever introduced permadeath on that character I would quit the day I see it in the test center patch notes.
So basically, your proposal is that only full-template Jedi (the most powerful characters in the game 1v1) are the only Jedi that hit the perma-death terms - the fight HAS to be 1v1 asevidenced by only 1 BH being able to get the mission - and then he is suppose to risk his not 1.5x stronger than a regular profession character in a 1v1 duel against an opponent who is the strongest possible character in a 1 on 1 fight only to die permanently when he loses?
That seems balanced to you?
~ Wow. =\

Wish it still was here, but alas, it is gone for good..
lol
When I saw the title of this post in the list I predicted in my mind the probable replies of such a post by the half wits. They were:
It will never happen
and
Stop beating the dead horse
One of them appeared lol, maybe I have the force.

So we're half wits because we're realists? lol
- Stop beating a Dead Horse.
- It will never happen.
Happy now? LMAO!
Seriously, I know many of us wouldn't have as much of a problem with it if it didn't mean losing a character I've played for 2 years. Also Jedi are not the 1.5x stronger that people claim. Add in lag, LD kills, and bugs... I'm sorry to say you need to come up with a different solution.
I believe Tanks had a great thread going about a "Blue Glowey" system. Even seemed reasonable. If I remember correctly, once a Jedi gets killed by BH X amount of times instead of Permadeath, they would be Blue Glowey for a few days or weeks (not sure on time limit). As Blue Glowey they would only be able to be seen by other Jedi and could not affect the world in any realistic way. So no checking harvies, piloting ships, killin npc's, etc.. just cruising around able to chat in guildchat and the like.
More like a penalty box than a permadeath. Heck, I'm a Jedi and I'd support that. But take away the millions of credits, 2 pa halls full of stuff, 100+ badges and 2 years worth of gameplay... no way any reasonable person would agree to that. Imagine the shoe on the other foot. You as a MBH go after Jedi, you get killed by your mark 3 times in one week. EVERYTHING in your houses, inventory and bank go poof and you have to start back at CL1. I doubt BH'ers would call for permadeath if it worked on both sides of the issue. Also, if you weren't around back then, Jedi didn't have lots either. Your Main character never changed, he was never carrying a saber or using the force.
So, though I understand your need desire for the permadeath system, I find it interesting that BH'ers would not support it being implemented both directions. It's ok to put everything I've worked at for 2 years in jeopardy but you're not willing to do the same... interesting....
