Ok first off sorry to post in your forumns but id like the hunter point of view on a matter. Since i started jedi ive been on the terms, (no kashykk grinding btw). When i was starting out, yes i ran as fast as my little jedi legs would take me, however once i became strong enough that i felt id have a chance to survive a fight ive changed my ways. When a hunter comes for me, (unless its a group cus im still not comfotable with that yet lol) i engage them in combat. I understand what a pain it is to hunt through the terms just to find a jedi not on kashykk never mind tracking em down, so i feel good in honoring the fight. With that said im seeing a new issue i have, recently a hunter that came for me used the definately dirty borderline griefing perma knockdown. Well with that done i was lucky as he missed once, and i was able to get the heck outta dodge. A low lvl paddi woulda been dogmeat by the way. Heres my point, tactics like these are completely ridiculous, and zero fun.Furthermore. this guy comes back for me now when im on he shows up at mycity spamming crap at me,(usually end up hopping on one of my alts at thispoint to do some base busting) It is the bh equivalent to the i win button in most cases(as theirs no defense against it except hoping he, and its making me wonder if i should continue to engage hunters, or just cloak and leave whenever i see a dot on rader as i have no idea whether to expect this all the time. I was starting to really enjoy the bh encounters, and i will say their are a few of you that at least have some common decency. (role playing ones are the best :smileyvery-happy I realize their are jedi that exploit as well (erhem erhem LOS)among other things, im just trying to get a general feel on whether or not this is tactics the hunter community supports. (as if it is look forward to seeing me cloaked alot more often instead of fighting.)

has he killed you yet? he might leave you alone if he does. exploit or not if you don't want to die and can prevent it why shouldn't you run?

Its a bad tactic, IMHO. Its gonna get a fix next pub i think. I tried it for the first time last night and felt pretty bad about it. However, it might be our semi "i win" button but its not like we are Jedi or anything

you missed my point, if i really feel like it i can just cloak whenever i see a dot coming. However i have been giving the bounty hunters a fight so as to at least humor the fact of how much of a pain it is lately to hunt a jedi in the first place. Secondly im not gonna just let the guy kill me just becuase itll "make him leave me alone" , that would be dumb considering i dont have to fight him if choose not to and who lets someone kill their character willingly anyway. Again my whole point is the fact that tactics like this are gonna cus more jedi to feel the same way and then your player hunting will become more frustrating then it already is. (fyi last i knew most hunters prefer when jedi dont run and get away as it makes all of their work for nothing as they get zero mission payout)

Well im glad you understand where im coming from on these tactics. As far as jedi go they are getting pretty close to being balanced with the rest of the proffs honestly. I read plenty of stories about full template defenders and the like getting killed solo by hunters. Im not asking for jedi to be beefed up more then it is im just trying to grasp why any players, bh jedi or the rest feel the need to exploit game problems. Just cant even figure out how its even fun, nevermind the fact that what it all boils down to is we are all real life people. (hmm maybe the real life people thing answers its own question...)

I must be missing this one... most of the time when a KD hits my opponent jumps right back up again...

Yeah that sucks

although your attitude is laudable when it comes to Jedi vs BH there is no room for making it fun for the other guy. A lot of jedi I run into are polite, but some are complete jerks. A BH coming off their last mark that was a jerk is not going to show much mercy. Its great that you want to be nice and all to the BH, but honestly we are out to kill you, not be your friend, not hang out afterwards and chat, it is money, and a mission. I'm not saying I dont chat with jedi after a fight, just that you are going to meet all kinds in this game and the Jedi/BH conflict brings out the worst.

As far as his tactics, well I dont really know the perma KD thing, but it does sound kind of cheap, but then again this isn't gym class, people dont always play fair.

I believe it's Startle Shot from Rifleman; it's a delay attack. I'm not sure if it's working as intended or not; it probably needs its cool-down timer increased slightly to avoid this sort of thing. Even a slight increase would allow someone to get back up if they time it right.

If a BH attacks you, you can choose if you want to fight or leave. If you leave, the BH has nothing to complain about because to every escape tactic a Jedi can use there are counters (except for the /offerride exploit). If you got away because of cloak, the BH can adjust when he engages you the next time.
A BH should not expect to be able to run in an win against every Jedi template. If he doesnt want to spend the time to stalk you and get to know your skill set before attacking or using the information he gathered in his first attack to improve his second attack, that is his fault and not yours.
If he is standing in your town spamming and talking crap about you because you were able to escape, ask him to stop, ban him from the city and report him.

I love city bans!

But you're right, certain BH termplates are good against specific Jedi Templates, and are total crap against others. A BH that would win a 2-minute fight against one template can go down in seconds against another.

I didnt know you could execute the KD bug on command? I have had NPC's use it on me and I was unable to use a recover for it as well. I thought it was something that just happened occassionally.

There is a series of attacks that can be used to cause a "You cannot use "Knockdown Recovery" while knocked down" message every time you try KD recovery when KDed. This is working 100% of the time and a bug, using this series of attacks against another player is exploiting.
